This is my favorite show of all time.
LOST is an absolute masterclass in character. Watching it might have taught me more about creating characters with real depth and specificity than any of the classes I took in film school.

Welcome to the island! "Lost" was truly one of the most complex network shows ever. The day after each episode aired, people would be discussing it and their theories on message boards, at the water cooler, etc. Because this show is so complex and has such a large cast, I would recommend taking notes.
By the way, it's nice that you are starting this so close to the 20th Anniversary of when the first episode aired (September 22, 2004).
IMHO these are the best characters ever. I still miss them all these years later. Also the best musical score of any show I have ever watched.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who misses these guys like they're old friends.

You'll know by episode 4 whether you're invested or not with this show. Walkabout is largely considered the episode that got everyone super invested. Can't wait!

Personally, i feel like both shows hit the ground running. But everybody loves a crescendo.

Greatest show ever. While the mysteries keep you coming back for more - even though some of them won't be answered for several seasons - what the show does best is the characters. Even the characters you hate, you love. But the storytelling of the characters, and their backstories, and connections to each other. The show knows how to pull at your heartstrings. I really hope you continue this, because some of the other reactors that are watching Lost are about to finish it. I enjoy having two or three Lost reactions going on at once.

The most expensive pilot ever made at the time. I think it was a million dollars. Lost did something to television that we don't see much of anymore thanks to streaming, and that's watercooler moments. People talking about it throughout the week, wondering what's coming next. Others shows have done so since, but streaming makes it to where you can binge, taking a lot of that away. Lost usually left off with a great cliffhanger, sometimes a new mystery.
"Ship 'em! The chemistry is real." You better believe it! Jack and Kate forevs.

Yay, I'm so excited to see this! Lost is in my top 3 favorite shows of all time. I'm praying these videos do well because I'd love for you to react to the whole thing! I'll be here for it! Also, I'm seeing a lot of comments saying that the later seasons aren't good. Well, that's not a unanimously held opinion. In fact the majority of my favorite scenes and episodes are in seasons 4-6. Lost may be flawed but there's lots of gold to be found, all the way through.
Brilliant, as always! I'm really hoping this one catches on because there are a few reactors that have started this one recently, some of them are entertaining, but none come close when it comes to analyzing the scene and putting it into context as a whole. Plus, you really seem to be enjoying this one! At the time, it was one of the most expensive pilots ever made, but I'm sure someone else will have some better numbers! Waiting for you to bring out a new reaction to this will remind me of what it was like to have to wair for a new episode each week!
Lost is the best. You won't see class like this today just forget that and enjoy the best show ever!

One of the last TV shows that was actually shot on film. Easily in my top 3 shows of all time. Such a great show. I hope you continue with it. I recommend giving it 4 episodes to see if you want to continue.

I had to dip out of the channel since The Sopranos since I haven’t seen the other shows you’re reacting to. I’m so happy to get to watch super perceptive Elie again!! And LOST to boot!! Lotr my favourite films of all time
Lost has a very dedicated fanbase. Almost every youtuber who reacts to this show has the same people tuning in and commenting haha. The biggest thing I will warn you about though is the drop off I've seen in viewership if you become inconsistent. Some channels take a month or even year-long gaps between episodes which really hurts retention of the Lost audience. But as long as you're consistent, you'll have a fanbase that will stick with you till the end.

The pilot episode of Lost has an interesting backstory. Originally, Michael Keaton was going to start off as the hero character and then die in the first episode. At the time it was the most expensive television pilot ever produced. The buzz was huge around this show before it even aired.
I love showing Lost to my loved ones for the first time!! It got a bad rep for its ending, but its truly because it came out week by week, over years, and the writers decided to go with the BETTER story, not the obvious one, like shows tended to do at the time. they definitely knew streaming/binging was just around the corner! being able to watch this show at the speed you desire makes it so much better. enjoy your journey on the Island!!!!

I wouldn't worry about the show (or the lost on an island "gimmick" to get stale, even for 6 seasons (and tons of episodes per season). This show is very deep, and very much a slow burn. It takes it's time. There are almost no bad episodes, and the characters are great. You will get a feel for what they're doing after about 4 episodes.
Ohh a new Lost reactor!!!! YAY. You will be just fine. Its amazing after all these year the Lost fandon has not died and still going strong by finding new viewers now that the show is easily accessable to binge watch.

Saw a lot of people mention the pilot as the most expensive, but not many mention that it's often considered one of the best pilots of all time as well. Which is one of the few things I'd give it over Buffy. Glad to watch you go on this journey!

This show holds a huge place in my heart, watched it with my dad before he passed away when it aired back in '05 here in the UK, every Wednesday, religiously. I was only a kid, I remember us both being completely rapt by this show. JJ knows how to write a great pilot episode. Looking forward to catching up on it with you, skip! 🤟

amazing, i love that u pay attention to camerawork, details already. i'd say dont pay attention to comments that seem innocent but spoilery. this series is full of twist and thats what keeping the show going, island is full of mysteries!
After watching this show several times (a lot of times), I tend to think that the core of the show are seasons 4-6; that's what the show is about.
Seasons 1-3 are absolutely amazing, and yet, they're just setting up the table board, 4 to 6 is where the real game starts.
I URGE you to watch the whole series. This show was amazingly good. I lost count of all the jaw-dropping moments, the twists and turns, the unexpected plot shifts. There's no other show quite like it.

One of the best shows ever made. Also don't worry about the show going stale or running out of ideas. Lost is brimming with ideas and creativity. You will be hooked now brother.
If you stick with Lost, I'll be subscribing. If you're a film student, this show is definitely a masterclass in what to do right. Out of 120 episodes, less than 5 were ill-received. This story definitely has a beginning, middle and end, and the fact that the creators got to tell the network when they were ending and how and not have it endlessly renewed past its expiration point speaks volumes.
My one recommendation for you if you continue watching is don't watch it with captions on. The captions are often written by a third party, not the original production house, and in some cases they abridge dialogue or spoil off-screen voices and in one case, get dialogue completely wrong. So no captions is the way to go. At the very least don't watch episode 19 with captions on.
Anyway, hope you stick to it! It's one of my favorites.

I remember how obsessed everyone was and it seems EVERYONE watched it every week n then talked about it all week. Was like game of thrones. Having to wait every week for the next ep was torture.
