- Happy Easter everyone!
Today is the first in my 4-part Easter series of quick jobs in the garden, and I’m tidying up ‘Shady Corner’ which hasn’t been touched since the Autumn.
I’m cutting back all my Dyopteris Affinis ferns to expose the new fronds which are just beginning to emerge, and I’ve discovered that the fern at the far end of the row is in fact a Polystichum Polyblepharum which I hadn’t even realised!
I’m also putting my little fountain back and turning it on for the first time this year. Spring is here everyone!

Hi Janette, we call our version of shady corner - hosta heaven. Wishing you, Richard and Lottie ( never know if I'm spelling it correctly) a very happy Easter. 3 day weekend, gonna get out in the garden and start the clean up. We're going have 3 nice sunny days. 🐣🐇

There’s nothing quite like the sound of running water from a brook or creek and fountain’s create that beautifully. Your shady corner is already looking great. I have one fern but it completely dies back with our winter temperatures. So I need to cut all of it out. I did notice some new growth this week so I need to get with it. lol so much to do.
Blessings to you and Richard this Good Friday. It’s absolutely beautiful out today so that’s where I’ll be in just a bit. I love seeing everything spring back to life especially after a long cold and wet winter.
Hello there and lovely to chat to you! Some of my other ferns are deciduous like yours so have completely disappeared. I love water features too and agree it’s so wonderful having the sound of water in the garden. Hope you have a happy day outside 🐣🐣

Hi Janette, a lovely surprise to see you tonight. It'll be good to watch those new little fronds take off. Shady Corner is looking so pretty. I just love your Brunneras. I searched for them here last Spring but had no luck. I found out their common name is Siberian Bugloss. 'Bugloss! Not such a pretty name for something so beautiful. I'll try again next Spring. We're into the second month of Autumn on Monday in Sydney and still expecting a couple of days in the early 30s but I'm hoping to get a bit of Autumn tidying up done over Easter. I have never heard of cutting off the green leafs on ferns. There is no such thing where I live, I cut off the brown ones here in Missouri, USA. It's all beautiful, Jerry or Mrs Bob, lol😊
Hello there Mrs Bob and thank you for joining me. I did cut all the fern leaves off last year too and then the new ones grew back in bright green. They were going browner and more brittle. You can leave them in but I like the look of brand new ones. Happy Easter to you all in Missouri 🐣🐣

Good morning, Janette! What a difference a little tidy can make! I still haven’t cleaned up the debris from the tornado that came through last July! I am taking a little section at a time. I planted 5 arborvitae, 1 Japanese Maple, and 2 lilacs yesterday!

A happy Easter to you Richard and Lottie 🎊🎊Made a difference trimming the ferns. At least you know that they thrive in their position. The fountain is lovely. Does it tempt Lottie to have a drink? Talking about being tempted...the garden centres are awash with plants😂 Thought I'd try a Philadelphus Snowbelle. It's supposed to be highly fragrant and I do like perfume from a plant. Your heucheras are shining through too💯The usual rain, sun and wind from the weather. Where is it all coming from 😖🥴? I will be following your vlogs. Happy days🩷💗💞
Ooh Sharon, I just googled your new plant, it’s going to be gorgeous! Also said they’re called Mockorange which I have heard of. Have fun planting that!! I am very jealous of your brunnera - I received one plant a while back, but alas, I didn't manage to keep it alive. I think this weekend I'm going to attempt cleaning
up the most shaded area in the garden, digging up my giant hosta clump, and planting some of the hostas in the shaded area under the climbing hydrangea. With the word "attempt" being crucial 'cuz it's all dependent on the weather (which is supposed to be lovely tomorrow!). Happy Easter weekend!

I love your fountain I bought another one for my patio area this past December -- found it on sale -- I've had it in my garage sense then I'll need to put it out soon .. That makes a total of 7 and I would like to find one more small one and that should do it .... !
