I saw guns open for motley Crue at the Hollywood sportatorium in Hollywood Florida I think that was late 87 the girls girls girls tour and they both Rocked the sportatorium
Ok, so what that was in reference to was there was a horrible fiasco not too long before that in the Grammys when the nominees for best "Heavy Metal" were Jethro Tull up against Metallica's "Black" album, which was the clearly the only appropriate choice. Not just because it was a breakthrough album for them which I know the diehards will disagree with me on this but mainly because Metallica was the only heavy metal artist of the ones mentioned that were nominees for starters Jethro Tull is not even considered to be a heavy metal band to begin with. I don't know what they are "technically" but they're not metal. Perhaps they are Whimsical Skipping Renaissance Faire Dinosaur Rock? They probably call them progressive alternative or something stupid like that but that's not the point! They're sure as shit not heavy metal! More to the point, the album that was up against Metallica was no match to Metallica's pinnacle album still to this day! Phuck! Every song on it's a hit. That's the album that put Metallica on the map. True every song was great but the downfall of that is then now all of a sudden every douche and his wanna be cheerleader girlfriend were all tea bagging to Metallica now too on the the new bandwagon! But Jethro Tull winning Metallica's award almost started a riot! I thought that was on really good taste that tough accepted that on Metallica's behalf. I never even saw that footage until just now because I started boycotting those award shows pretty much because of that incident. We all did.

Guns n' roses probably the best band of the late 80s appetite for destruction blew my mind was driving a 450 SL red I heard welcome to the jungle went and bought the CD right away at peaches records on US1 in Miami and that whole album just rocked, still listen to it to this day
