  • The time has come. This camera taught me a ton about photography and life behind the lens of a camera. It taught me what it take to capture special moments with photography. The FujiFilm x100f form factor and look makes it a great everyday camera. Time to upgrade.
    Gear Used:

    Ive never had any problems with printing high quality images up to A1 from the original Xt-1 with its 16mp sensor & the 24mp on the xh1 & Xt2 megapixels aren't as important as people make them out to be

    Really great video, I'm hopefully picking up a X100F this weekend, I've not been so excited to get a older camera in my life before. I really like how all the main settings are external control dials rather than having to look at a screen to adjust settings. I recently got a RX100M7 that I hope i'll be able to return as that camera is good it just isn't as good as I was expecting after doing countless hours of research into it. Thanks for the video, loads.

    Stumbled across your video and after seeing your photos, its really got me inspired to dust my X100F and get out and just shoot. Would love to see you do an editing video as the editing on your photos are absolutely fire - like something out of a film camera.

    You're right, I had Sony A6000, A7S II, A6300. I didn't even try to carry them, they don't inspire me at all. But then I tried Fujifilm X-T10... So good and fun. Why did you sell X100F tho?

    I just bought one of these and im really excited to just take it everywhere with me. I really love your B&W Look. is that a custom recipe you made?

    • @Jeffsfotos
      @Jeffsfotos  8 месяцев назад

      Hey Jordan, so for film recipes, you only really get them on a .jpg, so if you shoot with your settings on RAW & .jpg then the camera will spit out both. One with the recipe (.jpg) and one without (RAW). I usually just bank the .jpg's and only use the RAWs in Lightroom. then once you're in Lightroom you can toggle the image to be black and white and edit from there. I know lots of people love the .jpg's and recipes you can get from this camera but for me having a file that you can adjust much more is more important.
      So my recommendation is shoot in Acros film simulation (make sure you have RAW & .jpg on then make that RAW black and white in Lightroom and edit from there. you can always look back at the .jpg black and white for inspiration!

    Don't you think that good prints were somehow achieved before 26 mp sensors? Printing well is a profession.

    • @Jeffsfotos
      @Jeffsfotos  Год назад +1

      Absolutely, you're totally right, you could probably find a way to print just about anything... BUT for me, I like to print my stuff locally and unfortunately there's not too many options. The places I have around me to do my prints don't really have the best tech and for some reason they don't turn out right if it's not a file from a higher megapixel sensor. (I live in a smaller city in Southwest Ontario) I'd love to have a printer myself but that's not really in the cards at the moment! Thanks for watching!

    You get it. Well said. Nice photos too! I'm at a point I don't listen to anyone about Fuji unless they also have full frame in their arsenal to understand why a small/portable camera is terrific. I shoot the X100V , the X-E4 (love it) and Various full frame Sony cameras too. Including the tiny RX1 r2. Thanks for the great video. Michael Neumann One World Productions.

    • @Jeffsfotos
      @Jeffsfotos  Год назад

      I primarily shot manual, but if I did use a film simulation I used Acros black and white for sure. I always kept it in the settings where it would write a .jpg as well as the raw file so I could always have a raw version of the film sim shot!

  • @thewoodlife3
    @thewoodlife3 Год назад +1

    Beautiful images all of them. What Preset and settings did you choose to shoot those?

    • @Jeffsfotos
      @Jeffsfotos  8 месяцев назад

      So funny thing.. my hands were a little too big for easily being able to use the aperture ring on the lens so I usually just kept it on f2. And I know you're not going to be getting the same result then if you used the range of the aperture, but for me the fact that it sucked to trying and find that little aperture ring all the time made me only really adjust the shutter speed and ISO almost exclusively.
      For presets, I rarely use anything but my own presets that I've made over the years. Each project or set of photos I usually adopt a preset that I made in the past and tweak it to be more of what I want I the moment, then save that and the process goes on!
      If you are looking for presets though, there's a few that I recommend... Evan Ranft modular presets are pretty great because it lets you build your own presets with all the different separate ways you can apply them. (sounds confusing I know, but he has a full breakdown of how to use them on his channel)
      OR Benj Heisch Cascades preset pack is meant for weddings but is very much worth it for any photos, especially if you like editing your photos to have that film-like look.
      Hope this helps!

    • @Jeffsfotos
      @Jeffsfotos  Год назад

      @@MikeFolden I'm pretty sure it wasn't myself or the camera that wasn't making it possible... I'm pretty limited to the places I can print at where I'm from and for some reason the files coming from it were not high quality enough, no matter what I did. Hey MJ, I'm editing in Lightroom for pretty much all the shots an included in the video. BUT the Acros black and white out of the box is my favourite film simulation for sure! I've thought about making a video on how I edit in Lightroom but I don't want to make it like the ones already made on RUclips... any suggestions on what you'd like to see? I'd love to hear it.
