    Thanks for the detailed review. I just purchased this grinder, and I had a general idea of how to set it up, but I wasn't quite sure. I've actually never used this type of tool before. The instructions that came with it, while thick, had no illustrations of how to properly install the blade! I guess they figured that if you are buying it, you must know how to set it up! I just wanted to make sure I wasn't making any major errors. Your video was very helpful. I like "how to" videos like yours - no frills, just get to the point and explain pros and cons! Thanks so much!

    Good review. The ability to swing the guard around without much hassles seems like a good feature. Thanks.

    I use this one I use it to open 1/16 metal air conditioning compressors. And it cuts 3/16 metal too.

    Thanks for the review. I have a few of the earlier, forerunner models of this grinder, all with lower power output. I was hoping for feedback on weather or not the extra 4 amps made a difference. I believe that side handle is meant for grinding applications and not for simple cuts like you are doing. Install is totally optional. It seems to be in your way for your project.

      the handle is intended for better control, not sure when you would not want better control but it is removeable, the extra ~4 amps is nice to have but considering the drill master ~4 amp grinder did everything I wanted and I never needed more power, the extra ~4 amps did not make a lot of difference for me,, I bought it more for the different design which works better for some jobs, but would make it a lot harder to control without the handle - thanks for subscribing!

    I just came to hear it's sound. I just got mine and it sounds exactly the same. Like it drags or rubs metal internally. I am not sure if that's normal or they came defective. I was expecting quiet spin but I guess that's the way it is

    • @snapwholeharborfreightreviews
      @snapwholeharborfreightreviews  2 месяца назад

      filling the gearbox with grease helps a lot with that sound - ruclips.net/video/a33SyYLfhMA/видео.html - I guess saving that 1/10 of a penny on each tool adds up over a few years, but most tools come with about 20% of the grease they should come with, and can lead to early death for tools - thanks for subscribing!

    I was wondering if I broke mine because of the clanking sound as it slowed down, but yours sounds the same as mine.

      if you add grease to the gearbox, it will get quieter, i have a video for the dril master grinder, the process is the same - ruclips.net/video/a33SyYLfhMA/видео.html - thanks for subscribing !

    How do you remove the trigger lock button?

    • @snapwholeharborfreightreviews
      @snapwholeharborfreightreviews  4 месяца назад

      the trigger lock button has a quick off feature, I do not recommend removing it, if you do want to remove it without damaging the cover, you'll have to take the plastic body off, if you don't care about saving the cover for later use, use pliers or diagonal cutters - thanks for subscribing!

    Will this cut 1/2 chrome?

    • @snapwholeharborfreightreviews
      @snapwholeharborfreightreviews  2 месяца назад

      it will cut 1/2 chome get several cut off wheels and let the wheel do the work, to much pressure on a cut off wheel on a handheld grinder increases the chance of putting sideways force on the wheel, causing it to shatter (applies to all grinder, not just HF, and not just handheld), after that you just keep cutting until you are done - I've used these grinder for 6 hours straight cleaning up cast iron, they can stand up to the abuse - but you should replace the grease in the gear box - video - different grinder, same process - ruclips.net/video/a33SyYLfhMA/видео.html - thanks for subscribing!

    Do like those style clamps better then the ratcheting ones?

    • @snapwholeharborfreightreviews
      @snapwholeharborfreightreviews  Год назад

      I have a lot of both types, I use these clamps until I run out, I start using the ratcheting clamps, I can get more clamping pressure with these, for this job both would work the same, but my clamp rack has this closer to my workstation, the ratcheting champs tighten to a certain point and you can't go tighter, because of the ratcheting action and sometimes that is just not enough, so its just habit to grab these first - one good thing about the ratcheting clamps is you can configure them as push clamps, instead of pull clamps

    • @segraves138
      @segraves138 Год назад

      @@snapwholeharborfreightreviews Thanks!! I have a lot of the ratcheting clamps so wasn’t sure about using those other ones. I’ve never had an issue with clamping power and I e used them pretty hard and they never slipped. I could see where those other ones could come in handy. To me once I like something I stick with that but maybe I’ll buy one and give them a try. Thank you
