I bought one from AutoZone for a 2018 Sienna after having the same issue. DORMAN part# 917-016CD oil filter cap fits •Lexus 2017-06 / Scion 2016-09 / Toyota 2017-05
My wife drove on the highway and drove over a big rock, and broke that plastic oil filter housing and oil pan dent,. When i watch your video this really helps alot. F toyota for making that housing plastic. Thank you sir for making video
It's always a good idea to loosen the filter a bit before draining the oil. When you don't do that, the suction tightens the filter. I've seen people struggle with it all the time and even have a tough time using the wrenches. I have always been able to remove it by hand.
Your Toyota guy was wrong ( or just lied to you). There is the aluminium filter housing that is exactly as plastic. I have bought one for my 2017 sienna from my Toyota dealer.
@@theotherguy3083 .... Toyota discontinued this plastic model ( part # 15620 - 37010)....and you can use the alumimum replacement ( # 15620 - 31060). Same price or the aluminum may even cost less. $50 is nuts....and availablity should show (BY TOYOTA) ...as NO LONGER AVAIL IN PLASTIC !!. The Toyota BRAND alum part is under $50 retail and can be bought for about $30.

Cheap plastic garage! Any vehicle I buy I make sure it has a full frame, rear wheel drive, timeing chain and steel guides. And a conventional oil canister type filter.
Good job 👍

Sorry that link is for a Aluminum filter housing for your car I had to replace mine
You will more disappointed at Toyota for their new cars. They are replacing most of the hot engine parts with plastic one.
The valve covers, thermostat housing, and rear water bypass joint are also made out of plastic. 😬
Crazy Toyota
Toyota is the next trash GM. lolo
What sucks is that they make us go through all this crap. All we need is the plain old screw-on type filter.
Agreed!!!

It's little too late. They have tarnished their reliability image of the brand.@@TheWilferch
