eacting to dmx, ruff ryders anthem, reaction to all star freestyle, ruff ryders reaction
This was THE anthem of the entire summer of 1999.
Most definitely bro
Indeed!
1000 sliding in the 98' maxima this plus Big Pun and DMX.
THE ENTIRE!!!!!!
Facts only
Gotta do "Twisted Heat" - Drag On ft. Twista... 🔥
Haven't heard this one in in a minute.
KingAhmadTV this Song has a Music Video it’s on there
He prolly heard that beat on NBA live . I believe it was on a game
The video version feat. Yung Wun is better.
This whole album is 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Track for track
I can confirm. Summer of 99 was full of great music like this
Was this from the Drag Album H2O or RR compilation?
@@planetdee3587 it was originally off if the ruff Ryders compilation album that was put out around the beginning of summer 99. It was also probably on his solo album he put out after that too
CLASSIC
💯💪🏽..
You truly had to be in that time, to understand its full impact when this dropped. 💣💣
Facts
Man bruh I was in 7th grade this song had the middle school dances pumping 🔥🔥
Yes!!! I loved the original but Juvenile being added was something i didn't know I needed.
FR
@@jameswilliams406 FR. Same
What an album!
Purchased in ‘99 and still listen to it!
‘Pina Colada’ by Sheek and Big Pun is 🔥
Best song on the album (in my opinion)
One of my favorite times in music
I’m about to revisit this album
1999 was a YEAR for hip hop.
Facts
Nah 1998 (DMX first 2 albums, Jay Z hardknock life, Big Pun, Busta, Nore, Master P etc)
98 fa show
@@bxboro4662 Facts but X dropped his 2nd album around New Year’s I’ll count that as 99’
Agreed. Between Ruff Ryders, Cash Money even 36 mafia finding a more commercial sound amongst many other artist it was a great summer for music
Do a reaction to track #6 Dope Money (Jadakiss & Styles) straight 🔥🔥🔥
As other comments said though, this whole album is heat! I was 13 when I got my hands on this album. The impact the Ruff Ryders movement had was a takeover!
I know all the words to that!
The song is called down bottom, that’s what we called the south around that time. That’s why it has the down south feature and feel. The south was really starting to influence music around this time- dope pick
Drag-on has some classics…he was also dmx’s hype man
Man this whole album is a classic you gotta listen to it💪🏾
Bro I haven’t heard this song in FOREVER!!!! Whoever requested this THANK YOU!!! This took me back to high school man Juvenile is so underrated
I remember every Black college marching band was playing this. River City classic in Cincinnati, all 3 schools played this at halftime. Loved this song original and remix.
I think the music video features the other guy...the Remix of this. Yung 1 instead of Juvenile.
Swizz stayed in Atlanta for some years before coming back to NY and joining Ruff Ryders, thats why alot of his beats might sound "southern". He took influence from what he was hearing over there
joining Ruff Ryders?/ his Aunt and Uncle owned the label and started the label after they knew he got good making beats
The reason why this sounds like an Atlanta beat, is because Swizz moved to Atlanta when he was young.
This was one of the hardest beats ever
Whole album is lit, but you should definitely react to the track WWIII featuring, Scarface, Yung Wun, Snoop and Jada.
Yeah that was the one for me, especially Face verse.
Mane Juvenile verse was so 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
This, Ruff Ryders Anthem, and Can I Get A...with Jay and Ja Rule, all changed the sound of NYC. First NYC-based records that had that southern "bounce" to it. I don't think alotta Swizz Beats '90s production has aged well, but joints like Down Bottom, Money Cash Hoes and Ruff Ryders Anthem stood the test of time. This instrumental is an HBCU band anthem.
Fat Joe too
@@DesignzRUswant to experience that at a hbcu I think I will be the only old head jumping up n down
Gotta remember Swizz went to school in Atlanta so his ear was turned on to the southern sound early
Didn't kno that
A Mf classsssssic. Now Ahmad gotta do some Styles P. Start with “Nobody Believes Me” and “Not To Be F*cked With” 🔥🔥🔥
Your favorite rappers favorite rapper
This whole album was my 9th and 10th grade hype music before I stepped on tha football field 💪
Drag-on is fire as well
Maino, Jim Jones and Fivio Foreign recently made a song over a “drill” version of this beat like last year.
This being back memories. Dragon wasn’t playing with Juvie on this track
This album really was a turning point in hip hop, crazy album for sure.
It was a great time for music. A lot of new sounds were coming out and there were a ton of cross label collaborations
This album was a monster when it dropped. One of the last great 90s albums frfr.
Ruff Ryders started outta NY but accepted everyone. It was basically right after Pac and Big got killed and everyone was coming together and most beef was put to an end and we got some of the best music! Snoop was on multiple songs, Yung One, I could go on. They brought an entire country of the best rappers together.
One of the best songs in hip hop history!
This my shit 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Man Im smiling like a crest commercial!! Swizzy killing this beat!!!!!!!
Two songs:Dope money and Some X shit! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
Lox- Dope Money
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
On the same album best song on there..
Gotta do “some X shit” of this album. Dmx ripped it
Double R ! Yeah this whole album is crazy bunch of classic songs on just this
it was intentional for swizz and drag to show they could be on that vibe too. juvenile had just blown up with "ha" and cash money was becoming the dominant new orleans sound, wresting that power from no limit. very interesting time. the other minor controversy was the similarity between drag-on and cam'ron's flows at the time.
This shocked me at how much I loved this song. I thought Drag was going to be a star and Juvenile was a perfect fit. This whole album was cool though. I never believed Drag had a bad studder with that flow until I saw an interview of his. The world is amazing.
He doesn't stutter in his raps
This album is a classic
Review "Some X shit" by DMX
This might burst a few bubbles… this melody is the demo for a brass patch on an old Roland sound module. That whole intro sequence would play note for note when you pulled up the horn sound. Swizz added drums. Same thing for Eve “What You Want,” also a note for note keyboard demo including the percussion.
Bruh there were LOTS of people just using synth demo sounds back then. I have synthesizers by Yamaha, Roland and Korg from around that time and there's been so many times I've gone through the sounds and been like "woah wait a minute!" Nowadays it's Output Arcade doing that for producers. Looking at you, Hit Boy. 😂
To be honest I think Swizz set the tone in 1999 for the keyboard/sound presets for melodies in rap beats
when this came out it was insane. i was 16 and had just got into hip hop about 2 years prior. what a time. swizz beats killed this
Ruff Ryders has a few anthems that bang on multiple coast..... WWII ft SNOOP ND SCARFACE IS EVEN BETTTER than THIS
This was the ish back when i was a kid. I'm talking elementary.
This a classic right here!
"Twisted Heat" Drag-on and Twista
Listen to lil Jon - bia bia
Love drag on...he's still putting stuff out today
I’ve been to the Ruff Ryders x Cash Money concert tour 3 times, I wasn’t disappointed once. The Great DMX, what a gift to see live.
I bought tickets when they were coming to Tampa, Florida and I got canceled because somebody got stabbed up in Boston…I was so pissed when it got canceled…
Since you like this then maybe you should check out Twisted Heat with Drag-On and Twista from Ruff Ryders Ride or Die Vol.2
its sounds like a southern beat....... Hence the name "Down Bottom"
I was in middle school and that beat was EVERYTHING 🤣
Drag is mad slept on b
Swizz beat went to college in atl he has a doc out talking about it he love the southern bands .
The remix with Yung Won hella slap too
The band used to play this at my high school football games.
6:07 That's what i was over here doing. Lol Man we had the best music back then.

My favorite song on this album
Nostalgia. Always recorded this song on tape cassette when it came on the radio.
Juvie aint getting nothin? heh heh heh heh that shit is funny!
This whole cd bang but you gotta do Ryde or die the song before this one
Swizz lived in the south that’s why he don’t have a pure New York sound
Peace King. Peace to the Family

U got to do ruff ryders WW3 they have a good video too
Tug boats! That beat is off the chain fam!
8ball MJG NEXT please
This album had the streets on 🔥🔥🔥
Definitely do Dope Money
This track was crazy back in 99 when it came out. You should also check out the track Twisted Heat with Drag-On and Twista and the beat was produced by Swizz Beatz.
MasterP- No limit soldiers 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
we all know that Jigga joint is this best song off this album
Drag-on is 🔥
Took me right back to my childhood my boy lmao shoutout my borough bx 🙅♂️🙅♂️🙅♂️
The beat is a 90's Casio base model piano demo
Nah this the beat everybody play on they desk wit pencils in school 😂😂😂
That’s one of the few things I miss from high school was hearing someone doing a random pencil beat on the lockers, lunch tables or even during the middle of class.
That beat was on one of the Tiger Woods games when you're going through the menus
Man you should start that over from the beginning that beat is so fire and drag on flame that track I had this on cassette tape the same thing as DMX first two albums on cassette tape my brother didn't like DMX so he gave me his two cassette tapes and this album
