- I have not been flathead fishing for several weeks due to nothing being caught in the lake since about June. Now that the water is starting to warm up it is time to try again.
So glad to see you back. I was worried not seeing you lately on the Tube. Thanks for showing us your launch and retrieving technique 👍🏻 Glad the fish are back. 3 take homes are better than none. I’m happy just catching fish even if I have to let them go. A beautiful day on the water.
Hope to be able to contribute more frequently now the weather has improved. Recent winds are still a problem. Local intelligence indicates others are starting to catch a few flathead now. So watch this space. Thanks for watching.
Thanks again Foss, being looking forward to your new post. Once we're out of the Grip of Death of Andrews here in VIC, i'm planning on a trip to Lake Watson!
Hope the weather is good when you are able to travel. Let me know when you are here and see if we can work something out.
@@bobrobinson8544 Shall do mate, Cheers!
My partner and I love your videos! We just put a deposit on our first boat (Stacer outlaw 469) we are so excited! I also love that your videos are so relaxing to watch. Maybe we will see you out there :D
Pleased you enjoyed the video Eloise. Nice big boat for your first one - good luck. I will keep my eye out for an Outlaw 469.
Great to see you out and about, really enjoy your content, well done. Some nice Flathead for the pan! In a couple of months I am picking up my Quintrex 520 Topender Pro so it was very helpful to watch you launch and retrieve as the boats are about the same size.
Good luck with the new boat. It is a nice outfit. Thanks for your comments.
Great videos. So relaxing to watch. What outfit are you using? Good to see us old blokes still catching fish.
Steve, pleased you enjoyed. What you can see in the video was a Arrowz Estuary with Okuma Ceymar reel. On the floor was a Ian Miller Shinano Raider with Anu Garcia reel, and Shimano Raider plus Abu Garcia Black Max. All fitted with 6lb braid and 8lb leader. Nothing fancy, but catch fish.
@@bobrobinson8544 thanks.
Nice to see you out solo.
When you launch your boat do you have the trailer wheels fully covered in the water?
Tight lines!
Hi Jay. How far the wheels go into the water depends on the boat ramp angle, and tide height. With my previous boat (ProLine Angler) I never let the axle go under water. With this boat the rear roller has to be under water or I cant push the boat off the trailer. This means that some times the wheels are in the water almost to the top. I have just had new bearings fitted and there was no sign of water intrusion on the old bearings after two years.
Good videos Fos, just a quick question. I have a similar boat and was wondering what sort of GoPro stick at the back of the boat you use? Seems to be the perfect height and position to get perfect view of you fishing. Awesome.
Glad to hear you have got something out of the video. Nothing special about the support. It is a piece of 20mm orange electrical conduit. It is 1050mm long, though length is not critical. The bottom has been sanded back to give a snug fit in the light socket. The top has a conduit cap pushed on. It has a 1/4" nut and bolt through it. 1/4" is the standard size for a camera tripod. Just screw on a GoPro tripod fitting, then mount the GoPro camera. The camera can now be tilted to the desired angle. I don't use any batteries. I mounted a USB outlet on the console and run a 3M cable to this. Recording at 1080P and 25 fps with a 128GB card I can run continuous all day. I also covered the pole with black electrical tape - orange too bright. Hope this helps.
@@bobrobinson8544 thanks heaps, that’s a great idea. I will do the same I reckon. Thanks for the reply, happy fishing.
hope you start making videos again. but without the music. The song drives me mad.
