Thanks Foss - it sure brings back some good memories. I first holidayed in the area with my parents in 1957 when I was 2 years old. My parents were both keen fishermen and they loved it. They holidayed there every year afterwards - sometimes twice a year - and I went with them until I was about 19 when I moved out of home. I've been back quite a few times since then so I guess I must have holidayed in the area at least 30 times since 1957. Even though I was a toddler I still remember the old, rickety, timber, single lane 'Humpty' North Haven Bridge which was replaced in 1960 with a concrete version. As you know that bridge was replaced a few years ago with a new one. The quality of the fishing was excellent until the early 1970's but has declined dramatically since then. But the area remains a very beautiful part of Australia with plenty of good cafes and restaurants and a lovely old cinema. I'll probably retire there in the next couple of years and will continue to explore and fish those lovely waterways in my Hobie kayak.
That was great Foss, what awesome waterways you have up there, we have just the two bays here in Melbourne, not much else, well not like you just showed. As you travelled I saw so many spots I would have loved to drop a line in. Music was excellent btw.
Love the video mate. Gained a follower. How does stingray creek itself fish? Looks like pristine flathead territory. The lake looks massive, and hard to pinpoint where to target fish in the lake in such a vast bit of water.
Thanks for that - just wondering, how long would it take you to get to the Pacific Highway bridge on the Camden Haven River? Is it easy navigation all the way?
Robin, if I kept going past Grassy Island a short distance and turn into Mosquito Strait it connects with the Camden Haven River. Whilst I have been up the river a short way, I never went to the bridge. It would not be far though as you can hear the trucks and trains. My guess is maybe 10 min from Grassy Island. All deep water once you get into Mosquito Strait.

It is a great area Peter. Just remember that a good day's fishing has nothing to do with catching fish.
@@fishingwiththefossil.6199 I wholeheartedly agree. It's just such a pleasure being in beautiful locations even if you don't catch fish.
Great video! Very informative, thank you
Pleased you enjoyed it Justin.
Some great looking water down your way Bob
Rob it is a great area for fishing, just need it to return to what it used to be catch wise.

Thanks Bryce.
