Lots of things here point to this being the 50's. Some are the women's hair styles, clothing styles, fabrics that were popular, prints on dress fabric, light fittings and some of the furnishing pieces.
I agree with the poster in that this appears more likely to have been shot in the 50s. Also, PRO TIP: When writing about an era, like the 40s, 50s, etc. do note those are plural, not possessive, therefore no apostrophe is required. 🌈
I had a girlfriend who smoked occasionally, after which I would refuse to kiss her on the lips. Time sure have changed on that count, now I don't know anyone who still smokes!
Every couple in the 1940s were swingers, which is why your dad treated you so harshly and never said he loved you was because he know deep down you weren't his.
Not many people do house parties anymore. I miss them. Such fun with those you loved and knew well.
No one today would wear a suit and tie to a party.
@@garymorris1856 ...Unless it was at the office or a very formal reception 😁
@@garymorris1856 we never wore suits or even dresses. It was very casual but a lot of fun.

It's ten years think about 2013 we weren't using completely different fabric, hair style, paints or lights.
Could be like ‘49. There are fashion trends yes, doesn’t mean they’d get rid of their whole wardrobe at the start of a new decade lol
These hairstyles of the women are not very 40's indeed, much shorter, typical 1950's.
I agree, the men in suits and ties looks more like the 50's or early 60's.
Not too much has changed as far as folks getting loose when they’re saucy 🤣🤣🤣. This was cool👍🏾
I was thinking the same thing. Looks like a NYE house party I have been to, but in a different time and a different place.
Plot twist they're in there mid 20s
This deserves to be used in media to show some families old home movies how tremendously cliche and beautiful
This is how "swinging" started

This is 1950s....not 40s
Such fun 🎉

the lack of young men makes me think this was the middle of WWII... god bless our young fighting men and the wives who waited.
Good observation
Yeah its probably 40 or 41, war ended in 42 i think. I wonder if perhaps some of these families lost their sons. War is horrible.

looks more like around 1960
How hard was it to convert a... regular film(?) To digital?
our grandparents in action. behave yourselves!
Still knew how to party. What's the big deal?
No twerking, that's the world I wish I lived in.
You want a world with just whites it sounds like.
times change, different dancing and styles become popularized. grow with the world or get left behind
@@jkkimora6350 Trerking isn't growth...its decay.
I'll drink to that 😜
This is the 1950's, wrong music to, thats more like the 20's, or 30's ragtime
I just thought the music fit well. Wasn't intended to match the time frame - which I agree is more the early 50s than the 40s. :)
I agree. It’s early to mid 50s.
