My Mom spotted a Viper across the street one day. Her exact words " Good Lord! What in Gods name is that!" I gave about 5 minutes explaining Vipers to her. We pulled up and started checking it out. The owner appeared, so I told him how we got there. Next thing you know my Mom is being strapped in! She let him know " I ain't scared, used to have my own Harley 45" Buddy,let me tell ya, she got about 15 minutes of that Viper. You couldn't have knocked the hooligan smirk off her face, the giggles, loved 'em! Oh yeah, my Mom was 94 years old that day. She was a cool one, she really was.

It’s amazing how v10’s can sound so different. U get an F1 like sound from the LFA and a deep sound from the viper
it depends on the angle and manifold
Mohamed Hussein Not amazing, just a question of the build of engine and components.
It depends on many factors. Mainfold, exhaust system, engine size, forced induction or N/A, etc
Firing order also comes into play. The viper has an odd firing order, its much different from most other v10s
Vipers v10 has very little power for the displacement, it revs low, is torque-y, and the sound is deeper. Lfa's v10 is pretty much the opposite
All these comments from people saying the viper sounds like shit. It's not something you can judge from a RUclips video. Hearing a Viper is an experience. Just the sheer power of the exhaust note is unbelievable, not to mention this video doesn't pick up on the lower growl the engine emits. Indescribable. You just have to hear it in person.
Benjamin Cox so true, I will say though I prefer the modern 8.4L V10 that went in the ACR-Extreme over the old 8.0L V10 they used.

The feeling of the exhaust mote is the best part. I saw one in my hometown and i felt the car before it ever came around the corner. It was a secone gen blue with the white stripes. Ive been in love with the viper ever since then

The one thing this video has thaught me is that forza horizon 4's viper sound is horribly wrong.

The Viper has been NA its entire 25 year production, I think it would be better if they kept it that way. But I doubt the Viper is going to come back, atleast not for a long time

LFA sounds really good and pretty similar at low revs, but it's character is in the high revs where it's whining and screaming. Cool, but not the big booming muscle sound of the Viper
Yeah, the LFA are screamer cause the crankshaft configuration are the same as the V10 F1 (Means they sound almost the same, diference is rev range and exhaust)
The LFA is the only car that share the same crank of the F1 V10 era.
Sadly LFA owners are 60 years old that never will put an good exhaust in it.
Oh! What a lovely sound. V10 & V8 Engine Notes are my favorite. It sounds so musical.

There's just something about vipers. There like no other.
When I was a lil dude playing need for speed 4 on the ps1, this was my favorite car. As an ase certified dodge tech now, it’s still my favorite car. It inspired my career path, and I love this car to bits. Rip legend.
The Viper is hands down my favorite American sports car. It's a shame they decided to end it's lineage.

God, I can just hear the freedom.
V8 sounds common and intoxicating to my ears, the shear roaring power
V12 sounds like a civilized orchestra performing at the F1 pits
V10, they are unique type of sounds from a well made trumpet
The NFS Most Wanted/Carbon Viper sound is the closest thing you’ll find to the real life one.
I'd say the Blue Viper comes close too

That dark red GTS sounds so good! through it's whole rev range! The blue gen 3/4 sounds exotic!
One of the best looking American car
You can't put into words how it sounds and feels when VVT @ 5000 RPM kicks in (Gen 4 and 5) - sound and acceleration is already breathtaking but between 5k-6k RPM you feel like a NASCAR driver :-) Another nice thing is disabled VVT (mostly Prefix) - the screaming at top RPM is identic, but in addition to that you get the most oldschool muscle car rumble when idling you can think of :-D
The Viper is the Spiritual Successor to the Shelby Cobra, but with a V10. Carroll Shelby helped with the development of the 1st Gen Viper and he really did just make a bigger faster Cobra

Used to work at a car wash, used to laugh and watch everyone try and wipe the HOT side paneling as that's where the exhaust sits 😂

I always had love for the viper ever since i was a kid & i still remember the 1st time i seen a viper on the freeway, its a amazing car & will be missed hope dodge brings the viper bak with a bang👍👍👌✌
I've always preferred the Viper to the Vette. I love how curvy it is. There was a chance for an amazing, longstanding rivalry between the two, but the snake could just never obtain the Chevy's appeal.

Not because it's just as a good as JDM cars? It's set lap records one lemans a few other races etc it also can handle 2k+ horsepower because it was made for that JDM cars I love but too much power and their just straight line cars and like all drag cars blow parts left and right vipers are the only handling American sports car outside of ford gts

I personally don’t get the hype around the sound a car makes but I can perfectly put myself in the shoes of someone who does. That being said some of these cars sounded like dragons and that’s what I found cool
Old school American V8's are my favourite sounding engines, but this is up there and actually beats a good few V8 noises. It's such guttural noise. I think it's partly cos of how much like a V8 it sounds that makes it so appealing.
The guy in the crimson "#22" seems like the best driver, but the guy in the gray with white stripes is definately having the most fun! LOL

First time I drove a first gen Viper, I was more used to cars like Porsches and a Lotus Esprit I got to spend some time with, so I was used to the pedals being offset toward the center of the car.
The Viper, though... Those pedals are offset noticeably outboard.

I've always had a special place in my heart for Vipers (and select few other American muscle cars), though my favorite cars are generally 4WD rally car types. The Vipers is just so silly, so dumb, and so much fun that you gotta love it.
