THANKS FOR WATCHING AND SUBSCRIBE!!! Авто/Мото
too bad they discontinued the Viper. Gotta love that big V10
Big is understated
Really? That's great , I thought they ended the Viper.
Lars Mars Cars they are contemplating on bringing it back based off the alpha Romeo Giulia, but wether or not they go through with that plan has yet to be heard
Lars Mars Cars reason is handling on them I should know I had a viper rt/10 till I wrecked it I took a turn to fast hit guard rail and totaled the fiberglass body on it rip front right wheel off broke my right leg and angle ducking cops thought I was racing got a $3,000,00 fine and few weeks of jail time also lose $375,00
Josh Compton forgot 1 it was created for racing but public wanted one so the first viper released was the RT/10 97' model than the srt/10 than the gtsr and than the dodge concept in 2002 by dodge company on a auction that went for $8.000.000.00
Thanks Gran Turismo for making me remember a legendary race car.
Sauber Wolf I was playing Gt 6 for PS3
Sauber Wolf I'm happy they added it too and gonna put mine in Riley Colours
Legendary?
THIS WAS MY FAVORITE IN GRAN TURISMO!!!!!!
I like that #91 Team Oreca
In before kids complain about "8 liter V10 and Americans can only get X amount of HP out of it"
A Chevrolet 2.2 Indycar V6T engine makes 750 HP.
The displacement factor with the Viper was for durability and being able handle mods effortlessly for the long run. No point having a 5.0 V10 from the e60 M5 if the parts are mega expensive and the crank bearings needing replacement every so many miles. A Viper's big-ass V10 makes insane power and torque stock, will handle any mods and will actually last for many many years being driven very hard.
Yep the power they can push out is quite insane on a good tune.
This guy was at 1700 hp on pump gas for this event.
ruclips.net/video/gPOleohvoAc/видео.html
dickcheese663 .So let's put that technology to the 8 Litre and see what happens .
Not to mention it was an engine they had on hand. A V10 was avaliable for the Dodge Ram, (not counting the SRT-10) but the two engines were very different.
I've wished so long to see what potential a dual overhead cam 40 valve 8 liter v10 could have. I'd bet it'd be the power gain would heavily out weigh any loss in longevity. It's more rotational mass thus more to wear out, but for racing purpose which is all it would be good for would absolutely decimate ALL as far as power goes. Even dual overhead cam v10 in the new lambos are pushing 2000hp, and they're just at 5 liters! Mix viper displacement with lambo flow and you got one mad machine. That odd firing v10 has a trick with torque too. Jumps from idle straight to a nice even power band and still revs higher than most other 8's and 12's. Plus it just sounds so perfect, it's only natural, we score most everything on a scale from 1 to 10, 10 always being the best. 3 is gay, 4 is fun, 5 is rowdy, 6 is sweet, 8 is a blast, 10 is God! 12 is just 2 6's, it's best suited for smooth luxury. Also in low displacement high revving f1 cars, v10's were king. Just cant beat a perfect 10!
YES. I'm so sick of hearing about "big american engines need X liters to make X power." No, they don't. But an 8.4L doesn't have to work nearly as hard to make 600+hp as a 5.2L, for instance, never mind the powerband. I think a lot of people just get salty that their big money techmobile with "most advanced engine design" trophy in the glovebox didn't buy them an automatic win against an old OHV, pushrod, wet sump monster. Look at the Viper's track performance and it's clear the "big heavy American engine" isn't slowing it down at all, either.
I'm an Audi guy, and I love the R8 like I love all fast cars, but put the Viper's V10 against the R8's V10... the (2010) 8.4L makes 600hp @ 6000RPM and 560tq @ 4600RPM. Audi's 5.2L V10 makes 602hp @ 8250RPM and only 413tq @ 6500RPM. That's 150 more lb-ft of torque, and its reached 2000 RPMs earlier. And the newer 2012+ 8.4L (same displacement) makes 645hp @ 6200RPM and 600tq @ 5000RPM. It also wouldn't cost you $50k to replace.
There are a hundred reasons why OEM's choose a powerplant for a given vehicle, from packaging to emissions to weight, etc. Exactly *none* of those reasons is "we just don't know how to make power any other way." Dodge was already getting 112hp/liter out of their 2.2L DOHC 16v turbo engines in the 80's. They knew what they were doing.
Back when the Vipers were badass race cars. Nice, throaty, and loud!
It's amazing how satisfying it is to watch that thing drive around the track. I could've watched another 20 minutes of this.
One of the best and most badass looking cars ever imo, especially in the red and white stripes
Omg this car was my hero when I was a kid. It's insane how this car took corners.
Standard R/T-10 had a 0.96g lateral grip in '92, the '96 GTS Coupe had 0.98g, the '98 GTS ACR did 1.02g with the additional wing!
It was one of the best handling cars of its time, most people were not qualified enough to handle it.
To compare an AWD Diablo VT only managed 0.89g, Porsche 993 Turbo 0.94g and ZR-1 0.91g.
Viper always was the 👑 of corners.
Watched this thing win most every race in FIA European GT Champs on Eurosport as a kid in late '90s, goodness I miss eating dinner after school while sitting on the carpet and watching these headlights come over yet another hill and another corner, taking victory after victory !
In my opinion, best GT car ever :) First Touch with Le Mans Series with this amazing Viper!
My dream car back in high school thanks to GT2. I now own an 05 SRT-10 Ram. Probably about as close as I'll ever come.
This car is and still will be my first car that I bought. I still have mine, a 2006 Viper with a wide body kit and a twin turbo for the engine. 5 years and counting already.
Watching the pure, unadulterated dominance of those Oreca beasts was a highlight of my late teens. 98-00 3 leMans chips in a row going away. Nothing could touch them for speed and reliability. Only when they allowed Chevy to cheat with the homologation rules with that 7 liter engine while reducing the Vipers tire width did the snakes have a challenger. But they had to handicap it.
Oreca livery on the G5 SRT Viper GTSR’s also brought home the championship in only its second year of racing, then the idiots at Chrysler killed the racing program. They probably could have done another 3peat at Lemans if they continued racing it. Miss these beasts. One of the best road and racing cars I’ve ever seen.
Thanks for the memories Bozzy. 👍👍👍😎
Definitely remember this from that damn licence test at Laguna Seca in Gran Turismo 3. What a pain the backside to get a gold!
This low revving V10 sound is the best V10 sound.
Gives me nostalgia to Simbin's GTR and GTR2
AirCooledGaming And before that GT Racing 2002...the mod for F1 2002 :) much nostalgia... though I don't remember if Viper was in the mod hmmm been some time.
So much nostalgia for GTR2
AirCooledGaming I still have a copy
Agreed, too bad I can only play as the Scream Murcielago and 575GTC.
GT3 A-Spec.
Laguna Seca
Every GT!
8.0 liters V10 Manual Transmission looks like it was too much for Americans and Dodge to handle if the Challenger is a Demon this Viper is the Gates of the Hell unleashed.....the Chrysler Viper GTS R #53 won The LeMans in 2000 after 333 laps this is amazing!!!!!!
Thanks for such an inspiring video 🏁🍾🎉👏👍!!!!!!
the childhood car
Lightning Mcqueen?
Timeless looking car...red one if my fav
most beautiful car ever!
Started shopping for a GTS, the girl told me I’m going through a midlife crisis, told her get the hint. This car will age beautifully.
it already has aged beutifully, compare it to the corvette of the same era, c4 or c5, looks so much better
there once was an adage "no replacement for displacement"
Oscar Thorpe Improving technology? But who the fuck cares about that when you have an engine like this...
Actually...
Displacement still better when you can make a lot of power, torque and with long longevity engine.
Bought GTR2 back in 2006 because of this car, haha!
That car is power of triple threat. Ultmate race car viper gts-R
Thanks for uploading this vid. The GTS-R was the car that made me start to love racing back when I was about 4 years old. It has a special place in my heart
No problem at all dude!
This is the car that made the McLaren F1 look slow
4:03 lol the Bee Gees!
Watching Team Oreca win the 24hrs of Daytona in person was awesome. Knew when the vipers flew by at 3am downahifting into turn 1 while trying to snooze for a bit! Thanks for the memories!
I remember seeing the Team Oreca Vipers at Watkins Glen back in 99/2000. Thanks for the memories!
You're welcome! ;)
Here in Germany it was always known as Dodge Viper.
I could assume everywhere it was known as Dodge Viper. But if you check every entry lists of each race a Viper GTS-R raced you can see the "Dodge" brand doesn't appear but "Chrysler" (only in North America it was fielded as Dodge Viper). That's because this race car was built and developed in Europe, where in those years Dodge wasn't selling their road-legal Vipers. In order to increase the appeal (and sales) of their new GTS through a marketing strategy Chrysler asked for help to French Oreca in the development of a racecar that was able to perform well both in the North American championships and in Europe. If you look carefully none of the GTS-R as a Dodge logo on it
M. B. Not always. You should check the Zakspeed Viper in the entry list of Nürburgring 24 hours. It had different names over the years
No, the "Dodge" brand was non-existing in Germany until 2003/2004. They officially sold Vipers in Germany as Chrysler. The car even had the branding in the back custom changed to Chrysler and registration and everything ran under Chrysler as well. There are numerous old brochures available on ebay if you want to have a look.
Chrysler is a partnered company with dodge, that's why he put it in the title
This GTS Viper and the GT1 CLK-GTR were just unstoppable !!
Hey Bozzy. Your timing is impeccable.👌 Yesterday on my way home from work, I saw a Dodge Viper GTS (blue w/ white stripes). I never was a huge Viper guy, but I must say after several years have passed, these cars have aged very well and still look damn good.😍 I think I appreciate them more now than when they came out. Thanks for the killer track footage, dude! You guys are everywhere.👍👏👏👏
Hi Mick! Are you kidding?! hahah It looks like I've got a sixth sense XD Probabily because here in Italy Vipers are quite rare but I'm a huge Vipers lover's especially that road-legal GTS you saw last day. And I'd say a blue with white stripes plus yellow headlights GTS-R would be my favorite configuration of this beast ;D Thanks as always for your precious comments mate!!
19Bozzy92 True story, Bozzy. Before then, I hadn't seen one of those on the road in at least 3 years. Very cool to see one in the flesh again. Definitely an eye catcher. Cheers!
Wonderfull sound!👍
That burbly V8 sound in a 10 Zylinder is just great.
It even sounds like the road car :)
Well im pretty sure it was a v8, read about it.
@@aguywhodoesstuff1116nah Viper V10s jus have that throaty rumbly sound to them plus not every gts-r was a V8 it was only that 1 car
@@LeCumminz It appears you have read more than me.
Crazy sound . . car brings back memories
Great, as always! The time frame this car raced in was when I got into sports cars. That red/white livery on this car is iconic in my mind. It's great to see a video with modern HD on these cars of yesteryear.
There are not enough likes in the world for your videos. Thank you so much for a consistently impressive run of vids.
Thanks a lot for the very kind comment man! Really appreciated it :)
I remember this car in GT4. It was one of my favs from American race cars ^^
Großer Motor, fette Kiste, geniales Racecar, der Sound ist unglaublich!
Been waiting for this one, thanks for the upload.
No problem at all! ;)
Thanks Bozzy, brings back memories of my visits to Le Mans in '97 and '98. These cars are beasts. I love them :)
You're welcome! Thank you so much for watching
Thanks Bozz this is some of the best footage I ever see from this car!. Top man as always!
Thanks a lot my firend! I was really hoping to record properly this car one day and finally this year it has happened :D

RRRRROOOOOOOAWWWMMM
I forgot how much i loved the sound this thing made
What a car!!! love it
I know a guy from Arizona that has a red gts-r with 1500 miles in perfect condition. It's absolutely beautiful.
sounds pretty impossible. that would mean id done only 1 race?
Dat sound :D
Great footage Bozzy! Wish I could've seen one in its golden days, that V10 sounds ike Satan is ascending from the exhaust XD
Thanks a lot my friend!
3:53 good lord that sound is absolute perfection
One of my favorte car ❤
Definitely the best looking race cars.
impressionnant
Suuuuper! Like way back in the days. I liked the one with the smaller rear spoiler wing (GT2 from the 1998-1999), it was also more angled for attacking that wind force.
Memories of Viper Racing 🔥🔥🏁
Best race car ever.
Vipers are under appreciated I believe, love ‘em
Vipers are so freaking hot, and hold the record for the most track victories. In 2016, the ACR totally dominated and set 13 records at the best tracks in the country and is more than any car in automotive racing history period. BTW, I subbed the channel just for the Dodge
💪🏼😎
This is my favorite car on gran turismo 3, man i miss my ps2.
Say what you want about the viper, but it has cemented its legendary status in racing by being a DOMINATING monster in its class
The most legendary track car
Just get one in the original Team Oreca livery and it'll be perfect
I LIKE THE VIPER!
God do I love this car and especially this generation of it.
One of the best cars at le mans in look and sound i hope it comes in the le mans icons pack in project cars 2 and thanks for this Video
Thank you for watching!

This is American Dream! :D FIA GT cars.
The Best Era in Motorsport !
Ай красавцы какие ! 👍
best viper period
more,more V10!!!!!!!!!!
Never again has Le Mans been won by a truck engine.
MRFUCKOFF202 So the F1 championship was won by a saloon car engine in '83?
So it was, cool!
MRFUCKOFF202 ;-)
viper isnt a truck engine. Not one part from the truck v10. Its all aluminum. Only similarity is its a 90 degree v10
Ford did it with the v6in the GT
Came from your Instagram post
Those headlights..lol
Something that shouldn't of worked but did. amazing car.
That's Lightning McQueen dude.😀
Beautiful " Music "!
Assurda ! La amavo su gran turismo 3
A chi lo dici ;)
I think I could write a pretty good essay on why the dodge viper is the best muscle car of all time. I really want to have one some day!!! And I also want to have an Alfa Romeo Stelvio because it would be a good secondary car to the viper and I have always liked American and Italian cars the best.
I don't consider the Viper a muscle car though, it is a sports coupe, designed to go around proper race circuits
It does fit a couple qualifications, namely the giant engine and rear wheel drive
Three Classic Beasts, filmed by Three Classy Beasts. Thanks guys this was great! B.P.
Thank you so much for your comment mate!
Naw! As always thanks to you, and thanks to the Tri-Star. Stay safe and keep it up! B.P.
Midnight club made me love these cars
america's most amazing and venomous race cars ever built
Screw the hyper car formula! Bring back gt2
Gran turismo 4 fan
Big V10 viper awesome sound it will be missed
The most American "No replacement for displacement" car ever built.
il mio amore...un sogno
I wish this was in Project Cars 2...
Beautiful and merciless. Love it?
Im here cause viperconcept
I just have to say, its not Dodge or Chrysler, it was the first 2 years but after that, this car was completely build by "Team Oreca" from France. The Engine is btw not a truck engine, it based on it but the internals are designed with the help from Lamborghini and there is no Truckstuff left in it. I love this Car
Is this thing really 20 years old? urgh, that's depressing :p
It's timeless
素敵!
ゆぴ様のダッチ・バイパーよ!!
ゆぴは、このダッチ・バイパーで、400Kmの最高速度を出す気だからね!!
What rpms are the driver's shifting at? This doesn't sound like redline shifting, more like shifting 1000 rpm before the redline
Questa è la prima auto che sento che scoppietta al minimo!Lo so che aspirata ma sembra un Antilag a 1000rpm 😂. Bel video 👍
ahaha hai ragione! Grazie ;)
i with we could hear the zakspeed "v8" viper
WORLD FR ‼️
