"The original pregnant clown joke was that when amanda says it angela comes back with "that's what i call that bitch" insinuating that the "clown" in question is the dad's wife/gf/partner so think of it as like a son/daughter that doesn't like their new stepmom so are calling them names."

It took me a little bit to warm up to Angela, Chanse and Arasha but damn I love them now. Whoever hired them deserves a round of applause
thats a valid feeling. for me, i just think that any new additional cast will always take a while for them to find their footing and "bit", especially since they need to warm up to the existing cast to get a dynamic.

Cat fish cabin
The catfish cabin is a real restaurant in Alabama that my dad used to love when we lived there. So it honestly sorta floored me when Chanse said that. Then again he’s from my neck of the woods so he’s probably up on the obscure southern lore.
Yeah he might actually have heard of it and subconsciously used the name without realizing lol. I just looked it up and apparently there’s one in Jackson, TN too. I’m from Tennessee, like Chanse, and I’m surprised I’ve never heard of either one bc it’s a fuckin great name lmao
There’s one in Texas too! It’s a very common name for backroad southern joints for some reason

"a million people watched you eat cat food" was honestly one of the top bits of 2023, because josh isn't in a lot of smosh videos but when he is he doesn't hold back.
Also the entire Try Guys funeral lives in my head rent-free at all times as someone who has been a Smosh fan since 2009 and a Try Guys fan since 2015... but Jackie's bit?? Hello??? Absolute perfection. The only bit that was anywhere close to being as good was Kelsey's, and even that's a close one. Jackie absolutely killed it!!!

Because of Ian putting "Chumbawamba" in his top 3 as a joke, I actually listened to some of their music out of curiosity lol. I did not know that there was just one song everyone was familiar with, because what can I say -- I am a zoomer. Their older stuff is less pop-leaning and more just anarcho-punk, which was interesting to listen to (as someone who doesn't typically listen to that genre). The message of their music really used to be a lot less subtle, if their most popular song is any indication. If I ever get around to listening to the rest of their albums, I will start commenting very obscure Chumbawamba references on videos with Ian in them lol. Using my research for good.

Okay...if you really want a history on Chumbawumba I HIGHLY recommend Todd in The Shadows One Hit Wonderland retrospective about them. If you like deep dives into niche artists/music history, his channel is AMAZING for that stuff!
I love it when Damien sings his voice is beautiful and when he randomly sings on twitch is the highlight of my day.

These are all my favorite moments throughout the year and I LOVE your commentary! There were some moments from live streams that I missed and I lovvvvvve them. This year we had some really awesome moments from Amanda and Angela. The merch team really needs to consider making some merch after them. If buy all of it
