Thank you Anthony, I have heard this one passed around the coffee shop. Needless to say too many officers believe their intent or "motivation" makes it legal. As a secondary question about similar topics one of the officers implied he felt he could use the possibility of a po (protective order) to demand ID from a person. Only one officer asked the right question which was "why do you think there may be a po?". The others all said that was enough PC to demand ID. I told the person I was with that those types of questions being asked by officers amongst each other were the reason so many officers get it wrong. FTS (field training supervisor) Sgt came in as we were leaving, I asked him to cover the topic with them and hope he knew why the logic was flawed. Some of my viewers felt I should have interrupted and corrected the officers. I do not think hearing it from me would have helped at all, but seeing the FTS Sgt come in I did feel it was a good opportunity to correct it without creating a scene. Intent vs legality and possible vs probable are topics I like hearing you explain. Thank you again.
In the state of Illinois my boy has a protection against him the girl does not even live here but use my address would they be able to enter my home and take my son
