For those that do not know, Matt Mask is one of the nicest guys ever, he just has this psychotically competitive mindset, and in every match he hates his opponent. But he's a really nice dude outside of arm wrestling.

I can not believe I have lived almost 40 years on this planet without hearing (until last month) about one of the most dominant sportspeople in human history. Thank you RUclips and huge, mad respect to the living legend John Brzenk. Amazing achievements over a career longer than the lives of some of your opponents. Incredible.

I love the stoic nature of John. Just states his opponent down with calm eyes and extreme focus. Truly an amazing thing to watch! Much respect!

John is 100% great, I gotta give it to mask though, he surprised everyone including John with his power. He isn't disrespectful in true nature he just does that because it's entertaining and it helps him get pumped up for the next round, it shows in the way right after beating the pad he puts his arm down ready to go again instead of resting for whatever time they were allowed.

I laughed so hard, guys. That Matt is a strong opponent, but did he really think he could intimidate one of the strongest minded athletes of all times?
I actually think that worked, he did get 2 rather easy wins where John clearly started badly; which is very unlike John.
He does it to amp himself up too. It doesnt matter who the opp is he does it.
That sort of bravado is just part of the sport. I wouldn't pay much more heed to it than that. You can tell at moments by body language etc that both men have a respect for each other, especially Matt for John.
Matt is just insane that is all. He is always insane. Like for real.

This was a very entertaining match. Even though I don't know who the hell Matt Mask is, he definitely made the match more exciting with all his antics. Like some other viewers I thought he was a d-bag at first but I can tell he actually respects Brzenk. He was just doing all those animations to try to get HIMSELF up for the match.

One thing I've always noticed about John is his haptic ability and or feel. Even now, much older than other competitors he wins because of it. Almost like a predictive sense. When you see him smirk now or even 20 years ago it's because his plan or trap is working. Just like a grand master chess player leading their opponent into the moves they think they made themselves. It's really unbelievable that someone could possess such perfect orchestration and mastery of a skill.
That's probably because the guy is an aviation engineer or something.
And his opponents are usually guys like truck drivers, farmers, construction workers etc.

EllisEvolvedProductions Adrenaline does help, if you ever maxed out on weights it can make the difference between getting the lift or not. Basically him being verbal is his way of channeling his adrenaline. I would bet John is more of a "inside-type" of guy that lets it build up.
You can definitely see in the last match that he got fired up, wasn't going to lose this one.

Mask took two quick starts (one arguably a foul, maybe both) on John. You see John laugh about the second one. Mask prances around like a fool, thinking he's on Brzenk's level, that he's proving something in those two quick starts -- it's actually a little embarrassing to see a guy think he's suddenly in the class of the best ever. What ensues is that John dominates him from top to bottom. Mask is a good talent, but John is the GOAT and showed it. 4:30 = tell me you didn't scream just a little bit for him to break his arm off. Just a little bit, right?
