- Peter Hitchens explains why he does not trust the accuracy of the election polls and why their forecasts are demotivating to right-leaning voters. He also says he believes Starmer's Labour government will embark upon dramatic constitutional reform which will reduce the sovereignty of the House of Commons.
This is a clip from Mr. Hitchens' longer #NCFWhittle interview. Watch the full episode here: • Starmer is a Far Left ...

I think Peter is vastly underestimating the level of support for Reform UK among normal people, not Londoners, just normal people.

Yeah I'm in London and I know my Reform vote is a protest vote here but you guys in England can make a difference 😄
Two class country, but there are more grass roots than the academic snobby lot, Peter is ignoring the rock star reception Farage is receiving at his rallies. Hope Farage lasts the pressure and delivers. Agree wholeheartedly with Peter that Starmer will be a total disaster for all taxpayers and pensioners.

Any more than if you endorse a rapist and a fraudster as the candidate for President of the USA. Any woman, and any man with integrity must be outraged, and since my fiance died of injuries sustained trying to stop soldier raping girls inner school class I am more than outrage, I am fuming, and comments like yours so permeated with hypocrisy and ignorance are like spitting on her grave. Sexuality is a difficult problem, but I am interested in the fact,, that with few exception it is is men who want to be women. I understand why, and I sympathise. I have no high opinion of men, and I dislike Patriarchy and dynasty, which impose heavy burdens on women, hamper their prospects and damage their integrity. Technology has changed the labour Market in favour of women and the average man in the street is a loser. This situation has to be understood and managed, but your attitudes prevent the issue being discussed, because you are so visceral.I do not know whether it has any social significance but I play a lot of solitaire whilst I listen to music and between the games are adverts for games could 'unload' . With few exceptions they depict girls, women facing terror, torture, being carved into two, and drowned, and I wonder if some where there is not a lot of male angst, chauvinism and misogyny and whether it has anything to do with the fact that women now, have for three generations been in the profession, university professors and lately they drive buses, and articulated lorries and control steel mills from computer key boards, This suggests a crisis of identity for men, but we need to understand it not produce the supercilious attitudes of your comment. But have no doubt Farage will not arrest or change this process, nothing in his manifesto suggests he even understands it. So if we are to manage the problem we had better start understanding the origins of the condition, not shouting woke and waving flags because they have never solved a single problem .

Hitchens says vote for what you think is right and then vote to keep the worst party out which isn't at all the same thing: the confusion of the two party system in a nutshell.
Currently Reform are the second party in opinion polls, so why does Hitchens suggest we vote for the the third party, the Conservatives?
It's all very muddled.
I think the best option is for all Tories and Brexiteers to switch to Reform en masse.

Blair is behind the curtain, the think tank, and we know what a criminal he is?
He's the one pulling the strings no doubt, but where does Momentum fit in?
The story of Hitchens is tragic. He advocated for zero seats for so long when nobody else did, and when zero seats finally gained popularity, Hitchens had already given up on the concept.
He has history of doing this kind thing, he made Farage look like a Europhile with the columns he used to write on German expansionism in the EU and criticism of the Maastricht and Lisbon treaties - but when the Brexit referendum came along, he said he would participate in it. Then when the result came in, he seemed pleased with - but then called for the Norway option. Then there's lockdown, which he rightly opposed - but then took the "cure" as he said he needed to travel and also said that people had to accept these types of restrictions from now.
I have sort of come to the conclusion that he is a form on containment to the type of political change that he supposedly actually wants.
I cant help but conclude he is a still that totalitarian trot who only has the right way of governing, he only became a conservative because left wing now has the power.. when the left were a minority he was left. He thinks anything that gains popularity has to be wrong by default
Peter is right, for heavens sake stop Starmer, vote Reform lets get them into number 10 this time around not in 5 years. The country will be on its knees in 5 years time if Starmer gets in.
Yes- that's the problem AND they'll mangle the electoral system- none citizens, 16 or even 14 years olds voting, unsupervised postal voting everywhere.
There is no realistic scenario where Reform will win enough seats to form the main part of a minority government. People should vote positively and I will be voting for Reform.
They could be in a position to form a majority government in 5 years time if Labour crash and burn and Reform play their cards right. One of Reforms main opponents is apathy due to FPTP. They don't need to get so much more popular for them to absorb the Tories voting base almost entirely.
@@someguy7564 reform would destroy this country
The country is on its knee due to 14 years of Tories and 8 years of brexit

Save OUR country. Vote Reform.
I think the last 5 years has clearly demonstrated how the first past the post system with a majority party in power does not benefit the working population in the slightest. If Hitchens spent a couple of days reading the comments sections on social media, he'd see exactly the same passion for voting for Reform as was the case with both the Brexit referendum and Trump's election to the presidency. The polls said one thing, the reality was something completely different. So, in one sense, he is correct. The polls are not in any way accurate. Reform's support is way beyond his current comprehension.

“I favour the two party system”
Also Peter, “the Tories have to be destroyed”
Also Peter the other party are so dangerous you need to vote Tory.
He did say that he's still influenced by his Trotskyite past...
He spent years telling us our only hope was to break out of our tribal voting in such a way that it would achieve what he felt was what's needed, toppling the hold the two parties have on us by defeating one so badly (always the Tories he said) that the other cannot stand on its own and both can be replaced. He went further saying it meant we would have to suffer under a Labour government but that after that it would all sort itself out. Now he is calmly and quietly saying the precise opposite, it's too dangerous not to vote within the 2 parties, you must vote Tory, you must stop Labour... Bonkers.
Once the long march tipped the balance in its favour regarding media we were doomed. Aparatus indeed

This man is a star. I don't agree with everything he says but most I do. He's unusual as he makes you think❤❤
I reckon many people are planning to vote Tory but are embarrassed to say so. Also a lot of people who want a Labour victory may not bother to turn up to vote.
Also the use of postal votes by certain groups will be hard to calculate.
I’ve just seen a Thomas Sowell comment about the two party system - the Democrats are the only reason to vote for the Republicans.
In order to get a sensible party that has our country's interest at heart the Conservative party must utterly fail and make way for a new movement. Unfortunately, it seems likely this will allow Labour to win this time around. However, what is the alternative? We carry on voting Conservative in order to block Labour only to end up at the same destination just a little bit slower. No, we need change.
The numbers are real, people have had enough. They'll find out next week.
