Beautiful car. I remember when I first saw a Hyundai in the late 80's. They were absolutely cheap and ugly cars. Around $4000 would get you a brand new one. They have really come a long way since then. It looks like Hyundai has another winner on it's hands. Gr8 video as usual, sir. 🚙 🇺🇸

This is the perfect mix between the functional and spacious interior of the IONIQ 5 and beautiful and sleek outer design of the EV6. How many people agree with me?
I felt the moment I saw this car on your previous video about it that it would be a worthy competitor to the Tesla Model 3. This video has only served to convince me even more so. I know styling is subjective, but in my opinion the Ioniq 6 looks much better than the Model 3. Couple that with better build quality, an ample dealership network as well as a lower price, I think Hyundai will have a big hit on it's hands here in North America. Great video Charlie, this was a fun and informative watch! Great job!!

@Bowie i heard the software on the kia is kinda butt. Your right though it would def be smart to wait to see the build quality on the production models.
I own a Tesla Model 3. But I am also objective and can find lots to admire about the Hyundai Ionic 6. The things that drove me to purchasing a Tesla over Hyundai Ionic 5 or Kia EV6, were Tesla's vast experience and track record for reliability in the EV sector, it's regular OTA updates providing continual improvement and the dominant charging infrastructure (though I primarily charge at home). I was very much ready to purchase an EV6 or an Ionic 5, but quite frankly, the outrageous dealer markup when I inquired locally turned me completely off. I realized I could buy a gently used Tesla Model 3, AWD, long range with accel boost and full self driving capability, for the same or less as a base model Kia or Hyundai. So in other words, fully loaded and ready for the future with still a great warranty. I thought I was going to be put off by the minimalist design of the Model 3 interior, but I have grown to actually love it. I can control nearly all features with my voice, I am in the beta program for FSD and recently completed a 32-mile drive through local winding canyons, city streets and busy freeways without ever having to intervene with the steering wheel or touch pedals at all. So for these reasons, I am very, very content with my Model 3. The build quality is great and it is quiet, very fast, handles brilliantly and feels tight as a drum with a comfortable ride. I will say, however, that the Ionic 6 is a beautiful looking car that would have made me instantly regret my purchase of the Ionic 5 or EV6, because this is the one I would have wanted. But again, dealer markup is going to be the deal breaker for a lot of value-minded consumers. Personally, I don't think Tesla Model 3 has as much to fear from the Ionic 6, as much as other models of Hyundai's and KIA's do. But I do look forward to seeing these on the road. The more, the merrier. I think competition is a very good thing. Depending on how these hold up after release, I would very much consider the Ionic 6 as my second EV purchase - but not new, from a Hyundai dealer. Sorry.

The steering wheel LEDs are a nice addition. As for the sounds, I would love it on for a while until the "new" wore off and it annoyed me. That keyfob looks amazing!
The inside looks very good and I love the lights effects. Outside design is quite good, not crazy seducing to me, but interesting. Anyway compared to Model 3 it's infinitely much better on any point. The smart cruise control will only start moving on its own in stopped traffic if you are on a highway. If you are on a secondary, or city road the smart cruise will require that you either press the accelerator pedal, or the + button on the steering.
Has a lot of 'hints' towards vintage Porsche profiles for me, which is never a bad thing. Excellent video. Will be interesting to see how much this sells for in the UK, given it's a 400+ mile car.
I really like the design, it seems to pay homage to an older porsche 964. Would love to see it in orange personally, make a loud car look louder you know? Front end looks a little like a Nissan Silvia.
I was very lucky that the dealer ordered some in front. When i walked into the showroom they just got confirmation of 5 that will be delivered around mid-march. So i went for the Ioniq 6 in nocturne grey RWD long range. Black interior and non-leather seats. Also the stereosystem is the standard one, not the bose one. In Belgium, where i live, it's called the Core+ version. Can't wait to have it delivered, but this excellent movie redudes the endless waiting :-) Thx!
Thank you sir to show us this marvelous engineering from Korea, Hyundai is the future not to forget the hydrogen powered line, please review it , thanks again. 👍Greetings from Saudi Arabia.
The European specification with a large battery has a WLTP of 610 km for RWD and 570 km for AWD. From the renders, the "Byte Blue Pearl" variant doesn't look bad either.
I like all of the EGMP platform cars, but I didn't like the middle console in the Ioniq 5. For me it's just unused space. Here, they designed it differently again, which I like much better. Very nice car.
The carplay wireless story goes on and on. Every hope is destroyed again. So the gv60 is the most advanced infotainment. The red looks good again. Still happy with the ev6 in red.
Love the vintage "Porsche"-like rear with wings. Wish they would offer pano roof as in Model 3 (or current Hyundai/Kia line-up). Great video in primeur. Continue your excellent work. Cheers.
Great overview as always AP! Love watching your EV videos. I too agree with everything said. I think Hyundai has another real winner here and another potential World EV of the Year winner for 2023! Pushes all the right buttons and is one of the best competitors to the Model 3 I think. Some say Polestar 2 or closer could be BMW i4, but I don't think so as much as the IONIQ 6 could be. And competition is good, more choice = more butts into EV seats! I am still a bit disappointed that Hyundai (and Kia, Genesis) have not added any audible sounds to the ACC and Lane Keeping functions, especially the Lane Keeping. When it looses the lane, it turns off and you don't know unless you see the wheel icon go from green to grey, which is a very small icon to see. Many OEMs including Tesla add audible sounds when the LKA systems are turned on and they turn off, so you get an easier confirmation of what the system is doing. I think this should be mandatory as this could cause issues IMO. I've mentioned this to Hyundai, Kia and Genesis in hopes they will add this as an OTA soon. Still waiting. Other than that, I too think the IONIQ 6 will be a fantastic BEV like the IONIQ 5 is. The main issue will be availability for North America. We continue to be sold out of IONIQ 5, Kia EV6 and Genesis GV60 here in this region with very long wait lists, over a year still. If this happens to the IONIQ 6, no matter how good of a competitor it is to the Model 3, people will sill flock to Tesla since they can get 2 out of the 3 Model 3 choices within 2-4 months on average. The LR version is currently non-orderable in North America, but expect that to reopen in 1H23. I think that will be the real telling tale and HMC really needs to kick up the production numbers big time, as they are loosing potential orders because of these very long wait times. I would hope that not to happen when the IONIQ 6 arrives, however I have a feeling it will be already under allocation and constrained inventory when it arrives on our shores next year. I know Hyundai is going to build an EV plant in the U.S., probably Georgia, but don't see that in operation until 2024 or 2025 at this point. So a slow trickle of IONIQ 6's would certainly hamper their marketshare bite, as Tesla continues to pump out 2000 - 3000 Model 3's a week. I just follow the EV market and really enjoy watching and learning from you on the South Korean EVs, since they don't come here to North America for about 6 months or more, after you get them. I too am a Journalist and a member of AJAC here, so I get access to OEM press fleets. Have not yet seen the IOINIQ 6 but I know a static reveal is coming up for us journalists very soon, so I'll get my first hands on hopefully within the next month or two. Keep up the great work and I would love to collaborate with you, if I get the opportunity to go to SK. You do a great job and love the spirited driving! Oh and you asked about colours? I like anything with green in it and prefer darker seat interiors, but that Burgundy interior was very classy. Also, I myself own a Tesla Model 3 Long Range, a 2020 pre-refresh variant, and absolutely love it. It's not the best built, most quiet or nicest ride, but they make up for it with meaningful and plentiful OTA's and still a fantastic DC Fast Charging experience and infrastructure availability. That is really Tesla's strong value proposition, plus of course great batteries and battery management/thermal management. Others are catching up, but the Ultra-fast DCFC infrastructure is still lagging behind where Tesla's Supercharging is today, that it will take another 2-4 years for the others to catch up, at least here in North America. Love to see more models and again, thanks for your EV coverage and keep up the great work!
@@AsianPetrolhead this car is making me contemplate to forgo the aptera and stick to only one tesla. I believe hyundai will do with the ioniq 6 what it did with the dynamic fluidic design if the older sonata. I am super impressed with this car. So much so I may change my current plans.
You did well to tell us how enjoyable and relaxing lane keep and auto drive is as it continued to speed into the car that was stopped at the red light before performing an emergency brake and how it would veer off the road when there was a break in the lane markings. Real relaxing 🤣
The black one looks like a retro Porsche from the back That looks like a blast to drive. Don’t like the design but at least the interior refinements is good, the acceleration is good enough and safety and convenience is top notch. Again reminds me of top gear comments on the original panamera. Ugly outside awesome to drive.
Looks awesome in all colors really! Killer design from all angles, except the front! The front fascia is too bland compared to the rest of the car's futuristic design. Overall great car. I hope it will do great. Still more inclined to the Ioniq 5 - hopefully the next gen of the 5 will fill in some of the gaps (rear wiper!) Good job, as usual, Asian Patrolhead!
Thanks for the review! Now if only they can make more cars, very scarce in the US. Tesla is the only one actually making cars at scale and even they cannot keep up with demand. I just returned from 3 wks in Korea and it was so cool that so many taxi were Ioniq 5 and EV 6. Got quite a bit of passenger time in them.
Look 10 times better then the model 3. Hopefully that's my next EV. It's going to be hard to get one in 🇨🇦. In the meantime I'm with my stinger GT limited. 💚
I'm actually glad the Apple Carplay is wired. The wireless carplay has been terrible. I (and a lot of other people) have had to go into engineering mode and manually change it back to wired, to get Carplay to work.
One of your best videos yet, fantastic car for sure. the sound recording in the interior was excellent really gave the idea of how quiet it was. Next time though can we have less scribbling sounds from the text animation?

I love the sound, it reminds me of my ship in elite dangerous.
Yeah, pretty good sound actually.
Haven’t seen the gold color so can’t comment but the red with a gray interior would catch my eye for sure 😉👍🏻
This things with black wheels and a wing would look so good
Waiting for this one! Thank you.!
Welcome!
The black one looks like a retro Porsche from the back
That looks like a blast to drive. Don’t like the design but at least the interior refinements is good, the acceleration is good enough and safety and convenience is top notch. Again reminds me of top gear comments on the original panamera. Ugly outside awesome to drive.
Hyundai’s Ioniq line will be Tesla’s only serious competition
Very cool. Ioniq interior much better than Tesla. Tesla just seems unnecessarily minimalistic
Yes, definitely much better interior.
Ioniq 6 with black color is beautiful.
I actually like the 80's esque Porsche rear on this thing. And the wing gives it even more 'Whale Tail' vibes.
great review! You're the go to guy in RUclips for Korean cars!
Wow, thanks!
I like the name IONSIX ;-) Great review as usual. The car looks fabulous and I suspect they will sell as many as they'd care to make.
great camera angle on the twisties - nice to see the turns - great review!
I like that Plum color. And I want one NOW!
I'm so jealous. That car looks awesome.
Looks awesome in all colors really!
Killer design from all angles, except the front! The front fascia is too bland compared to the rest of the car's futuristic design.
Overall great car. I hope it will do great. Still more inclined to the Ioniq 5 - hopefully the next gen of the 5 will fill in some of the gaps (rear wiper!)
Good job, as usual, Asian Patrolhead!
I think it pulls off the "bland front fascia", similar to porshe, matter of fact, the rear of the ioniq 6 kinda almost reminds me of the 992's rear.
i think its the back that kills it. the back looked amazing in the first concept video but they changed it completely.
It's sound like a space ship 🚀 Amazing
it has the cyberpunk vibe. Perhaps Hyundai really should go into that direction... beautiful cars.
Really like this car, but my selection would to have it with a white exterior and grey interior.
That is a great combination!
Look 10 times better then the model 3. Hopefully that's my next EV. It's going to be hard to get one in 🇨🇦. In the meantime I'm with my stinger GT limited. 💚
nice car and hope to buy that in 2023
I'm actually glad the Apple Carplay is wired. The wireless carplay has been terrible. I (and a lot of other people) have had to go into engineering mode and manually change it back to wired, to get Carplay to work.
That's something new.
I think I'm gonna get one cause this is 🔥
I saw a crew was shooting commercial for Ioniq 6 in LA near Little Tokyo last weekend
Nice!
I just saw an old, but well preserved Hyundai Stellar SEL on the road the other day, which served as a reminder of how times have changed….
Wow, Stellar. Nice.
The green is very nice.
Nice to see these cars on RUclips, BAD thing is that to own one you will have to wait at least 4-5 years lol
Hope you guys get it soon!
Ahhh it's so nice!!! I'm in-love😍😍😍
One of your best videos yet, fantastic car for sure. the sound recording in the interior was excellent really gave the idea of how quiet it was. Next time though can we have less scribbling sounds from the text animation?
Yes, we will look into it. Thank you.
Rear looks like a Porsche which I really like. Front isn't my cup of tea but the form reminds me of a Taycan. Really like the build.
Styled like the old Tiburon. Good looking vehicle.
