I was born in the US and go to an american high school. Reading through these comments is crazy because i've never realized how much people want what I was just by chance given. I don't think i'll ever take that for granted again.
Yeah this was my dream once and I didn't want to push my parents that they would work overtime to achieve my dreams and I highly respect that I told that to them but Ill still travel to the US no matter what

hi! im from Sweden, and im actually thinking about travelling to the us for an exchange year aswell. it sounds like a such a fun & cool experience, also i would love to "live" the american life and go to high school and all that.

wow girl you were so lucky to get such a nice host family in a really beautiful place with a super cool american dream school! i have friends who had really bad experiences with exchange years but it always depends on the family and place. it's so cool to see that there are also people on youtube who legit had a dream exchange year.

Be grateful for where you are. We Americans have our own troubles, too. Money does not buy happiness and not everyone here even has that. With that said, if you want to come, then go for it!

I’m from Cali where I guess it’s supposed to be perfect, this is all probably because they’re going to a lot of tourist spots or going out every single day. Overall it’s not really like this at all
@@astrov01 I think a lot of it has to do with them being a foreigner. We’re very friendly to people who aren’t from here and we don’t want them to have a bad time. I’m from California too and I took a lot of the cool things for granted. It is shitty for A LOT of people though

you can have the same experience in your country with the right people or just go travelling and meet new people. There are better things than high school
ChaotikSab Some colleges have exchange programs, were u can study abroad for an year or a semester! So if u want you can live the American College, which sounds fun to me!

Don’t mind me crying my eyes out in my room because this is is my biggest dream in the whole entire world and as much as I have been asking my parents they say no over and over again!! I pray to the Lord every single day that this might come true. I have faith but it is very hard to be strong when you want it so bad! Thank you for this! It was amazing!❤️

Your in the right country to become rich. No other country in the world has produced more millionaires than the United States. If you have the drive, talent and motivation the opportunity is there. Remember however, rich does not always necessarily mean "lots of money". All the best to you and your future.

I graduated High School last year (class of '19), and even though I'm still 17, this year would've been my last year to go on an Exchange Year to the USA. I regret not looking into this way earlier, and letting my fears stop me.

I’m planning on going in 2022/2023 and I wish my year is at least gonna come close to this! It looks like you had so much fun and did so many cool and new stuff! I cannot wait till I can go!
I hope it works out well for you in 22/23. Realistically that may be the first year that things will be back to close to normal (I feel bad for 20/21 students) due to Covid-19. Also, I hope you realize that public schools are run at the state level. So each state must come up with a safe solution to this current problem. Within each state there are multiple school districts which must follow state guidelines but may "tweak" them to fit their situation. Personally, I don't see "normal" happening in the US until a successful vaccine is delivered and has widespread distribution. Let's all hope for the best!

I am from Az, USA as well. At my old school you have to be popular and rich and pretty and white (90% of the time) to be accepted into those types of groups and parties. :/ but doesn’t matter as long as you have a great personality and make the best of your exchange year here. Beautiful scenery here though!

Ana Luisa Nieto okay so every state is so different from each other but i’m gonna try and help you out. Don’t do a state if you’ve never heard of it before because probably the whole thing is just fields and there isn’t much to do. If you want the stereotypical american states go to the south (lots of guns, food, white boys, and republicans). If you don’t want a lot of American spirit go to Hawaii (superrrr fun but it’s not a typical American state). I would say go somewhere well known because there’s a lot to do (Texas, Florida, and California). Plus it’s a really desired place to go and to have the experience of living there would be super cool.

@@cherryblossom6723 I just re read what I said and I made the south sound so terrible lol. The south is where you should go if you want the AMERICAN American experience. High school in the south has a lot of spirit and usually have super fun sports games (Especially football). And its not all white republicans lol, but a lot of people from the south have very conservative views.

If you want the what movies portray as the perfect high school with football, cheerleading, pep rallies, school spirit, lots of people, etc. go to the south, like Texas
My exchange year got cancelled for 2020-21 so I’m gonna do it 2021-22 but I hope that it will be like this

How much did the program cost xx
This program with EF costs about 28000€ ,but i know many cheaper programs like 10000€ per year that's also a lot but much cheaper. Search about YFU
