Lovely video as always! Thank you! We make cordial with 50/50 rhubarb and strawberries (often need to keep rhubarb in freezer waiting for the strawberries where we live). Also make jam with just rhubarb and add ginger or vanilla or cardamom. My favourite is with ginger. Soo good with bread. Will try make some with oranges this year too.

Congratulations on all the kittens!! I have never had anything with rhubarb and have no idea what it tastes like, though I have heard of it my whole life. Your raised beds are wonderful. It is nice that you have been able to fix up your garden to how you want it to look with the help of your channel! Everything looks gorgeous. I also once had rows before getting boxes though now I don't have any garden and it hurts badly (I made and tended mine at my parents' house as I live in a two-family home and am unable to do it here since we have a tiny yard which my landlord uses for his own garden). I am glad you captured the happy bumble bees by the way! Your nature hike was sweet.

It is! But thankfully you only eat a little bit of jam at a time. There are low/no sugar jam recipes, but they still have “hidden” sugar in them, and the kind that doesn’t digest well 🤗 you need the sugar to preserve the fruit for so long.
have you ever used Pomona's pectin for making jam or jelly, I would highly recommend it if you have not tried it, it allows you to use other sweetener's in place of white sugar.🥰🥰💕💕😊😊💖💖😘😘

I think in all of us it evokes memories of the simple life our olds lived , the flavors of things our mothers and grandmothers made that we can never quite duplicate and will never enjoy again ,,,, As I'm getting older I appreciate the effort my 75 year old grandma went to in order to pick those tiny wee wild strawberries then do up into jam and a more liquidy , slurpy version that we poured over homemade ice cream mmmmm....these beautiful videos take us back for a few moments.......with all our modern conveniences we are still not content , we are always looking back ........I can almost smell that banana bread , can you ?

Haha! The nice thing about hobby farming is there is ALWAYS something to do so I am hardly ever bored. As soon as you finish one task, 3 more have sprung up 😂😅
You live in a beautiful area of Iowa Kayla. I love your kitchen, garden and furry kittens. You bring calm to my day and inspiration even though I am vegan I can still incorporate many of your recipes. I bought your cookbook it is lovely and plan to expriment with many of your recipes. I don’t know why but your videos always make me shed a tear or two
I think in all of us it evokes memories of the simple life our olds lived , the flavors of things our mothers and grandmothers made that we can never quite duplicate and will never enjoy again ,,,, As I'm getting older I appreciate the effort my 75 year old grandma went to in order to pick those tiny wee wild strawberries then do up into jam and a more liquidy , slurpy version that we poured over homemade ice cream mmmmm....these beautiful videos take us back for a few moments.......with all our modern conveniences we are still not content , we are always looking back ........I can almost smell that banana bread , can you ?
