    ABOUT Video Village
Des and I met while working on a television show - one of us a writer, the other in production - and we bonded over our love of all things movies and television. While we have seen a ton of great movies and shows in our time, each of us have missed some classics. This channel was started to remedy that tragedy and bring our inside-the-business perspective and banter to the RUclipss. Come along with us as we play catch up in the world of TV and Film. There will be laughs, bad jokes, eye rolls, and most of all fun!

My first reaction of yours, and it’s a great one. Love your overall presentation and editing choices, and thanks for not cutting it too short, which is a common problem with RUclips reactions.
I absolutely agree with your high placement of this under appreciated gem. So far as Steve Martin, this one is a close second to Roxanne (1987), and his dramatic turn in The Spanish Prisoner (1997). Since you’re big fans of Robert Downey Jr, please don’t miss the grossly underrated Home for the Holidays (1995). The ensemble cast is pure gold, but the dominant roles belong to Holly Hunter and Downey. Also, it was directed by Jodi Foster.

I worked on shitty low budget shows for 20 years and this movie is brilliant, ridiculous, and semi-accurate. There really are people like Bowfinger and worse. Actually, there’s a lot worse.
And I also once worked with an undocumented guy from a Central American country that had been in the country about a week. He somehow schmoozed his way onto our team as a grip/PA. He caught on fast and we made him a regular grip (with a $50 bump) after the first week. Really, he outworked us while making us look good.

Christine Baranski did good work. But to skip right past the entire main cast, all of whom knocked it out of the park, and the terrific script to talk about her is a head-scratcher. Is she a personal acquaintance or something? (If so, that's cool.) And "let's watch other RDJ films" as the _first_ thing somebody wants to say in response to this movie is, like, Mindbrain-level odd.

so boring when there is a person who already knows the movie, ruining the first time watching reaction .
The person who knows the movie takes all the leading role, laughs before the jokes, knows and repeats the dialogues...
