48 years have got behind me since I first heard this album at age 16. It’s all gone by in the blink of an eye! SHEEESH! Where did it all go so FAST?!? The Sun is the same in a relative way but I’m older - shorter of breath, and about 17,520 days closer to death!
This is one of my favorite songs of all time. I remember one of my favorite memories of all time was listening to this song in the woods on LSD, I cried harder than I ever had in my whole life because I felt as if I could finally let go all the years I lost in my childhood/teen years to drug abuse. I felt distinctly as if I was putting a younger me to bed for the night and that everything was gonna be ok. This song has a special place in my heart and brings me back to those healing moments whenever I hear it.
Two months late to the party, but my dad and I blasted this and Eclipse as the moon covered the sun back in April. I’m only 19 and I love how this album is bringing together people of all ages & walks of life💜💜💜

This is my father’s favorite album. I remember him playing this song when I was very little. I immediately felt very calm, as if someone had shut off my hyperactive brain. Just recently, that memory came to me but I couldn’t remember what the song was called. I put on the album and the minute this song came on, I felt the same wave of peace come over me.
A friend of mine wrote a few of these lyrics on a Facebook post. Some people commented in concern thinking she was writing out her actual thoughts. I simply commented "sounds like brain damage" and was instantly jumped by people insisting that I was being rude towards her and that I "obviously don't know anything about music because it's one of the most famous songs by pink Floyd called dark side of the moon". I just replied "no, I'm pretty sure it's brain damage" lol........ and left it like that.
I just listened to the full album and this along with money and time this is my MOST favorite song of the album. It’s amazing and 50 years later it still holds up. “I’ll see you on the dark side of the moon”

This IS a great album indeed. However, 'The Division Bell' went #1 in every country it was released in. That's something 'Dark Side of the Moon' can't boast about. Statistically speaking, 'The Division Bell' is better.

Since my dads cancer he has not been the same as he was... litteral brain damage from his treatment i sometimes dont recognise him... he introduced me to this great music and this band. Its hard to have to have someone you love in front of you dont recognise as a person even it is the same human in front of you...

I have been wanting to do a film based on Remus Lupin exploring his character and all that. I could have the opening credits with the bright full moon in the background with the opening credits text on top. While Lupin didn’t go mentally insane during his transformations during full moon, I think this song would fit perfectly in the opening credits as like a theme song. Plus I would combine two vastly different fandoms together (the Floydians and the Potterheads).

You get it! Smart kid! For me it's Pink Floyd and Queen. The BEST music came out of the 70's and I didn't get it because I was a baby /toddler. For me it took classic rock radio that got me where my ears needed to be when I was about your age.
The song may be called brain damage, but listening to this loudly in a very dimly lit room with a glass of whiskey in my hand is my therapy. Pink Floyd is the most intelligent and most philosophical band out there! You don't simply listen to Pink Floyd, you experience their music! It resonates within you, touching the deepest depths of your emotions, leaving you feeling content and slightly sedated. Pink Floyd create masterpieces without having to resort to aggressive riffs and furious drumming. Pink Floyd never really "break the speed limit" to make art.

You get it! Smart kid! For me it's Pink Floyd and Queen. The BEST music came out of the 70's and I didn't get it because I was a baby /toddler. For me it took classic rock radio that got me where my ears needed to be when I was about your age.
