Unfortunately, I have suffered brain damage, due to hydrocephalus (fluid in the brain), and this track is now my anthem. I am confined to a wheelchair, and will never be employable again, and I am only 62 years of age, though I remain profoundly thankful that this did not occur earlier in life, as it can and does to others. It took me so long to remember who the band was, as I have great trouble putting two and two together anymore.
I am totally BLOWN AWAY by the number of people in their teen years that appreciate this track and write about their thoughts. There is great hope for humanity!
Thank you very much for taking the time to read my comment. Oo roo 🦘.

The lunatic is on the grass
The lunatic is on the grass
Remembering games and daisy chains and laughs
Got to keep the loonies on the path
The lunatic is in the hall
The lunatics are in my hall
The paper holds their folded faces to the floor
And every day, the paperboy brings more
And if the dam breaks open many years too soon
And if there is no room upon the hill
And if your head explodes with dark forebodings too
I'll see you on the dark side of the moon

The lunatic is in my head
You raise the blade, you make the change
You rearrange me 'til I'm sane
You lock the door and throw away the key
And there's someone in my head, but it's not me
And if the cloud bursts thunder in your ear
You shout and no one seems to hear

This is one of my favorite songs of all time. I remember one of my favorite memories of all time was listening to this song in the woods on LSD, I cried harder than I ever had in my whole life because I felt as if I could finally let go all the years I lost in my childhood/teen years to drug abuse. I felt distinctly as if I was putting a younger me to bed for the night and that everything was gonna be ok. This song has a special place in my heart and brings me back to those healing moments whenever I hear it.

The main message of the album, if you feel like the world has been a bit crazy lately, if you sense this strangeness that things aren't right, all the ambition, wasted TIME, desires, pursue for MONEY, all thispressure... If you find yourself feeling crazy amidst all this, then know that you are not alone, i see you on the dark side of the moon.

A friend of mine wrote a few of these lyrics on a Facebook post. Some people commented in concern thinking she was writing out her actual thoughts. I simply commented "sounds like brain damage" and was instantly jumped by people insisting that I was being rude towards her and that I "obviously don't know anything about music because it's one of the most famous songs by pink Floyd called dark side of the moon". I just replied "no, I'm pretty sure it's brain damage" lol........ and left it like that.

What the band achieved working together no bitching or infighting created this masterpiece, they went through the stratosphere after it's release, it's sadly highly unlikely the remaining 3 out of the original 5 will enter the same room together let alone record new music or reunite ever again playing live, it's a tragic and tragedy for us fans and from the remaining trio who knows what magic they could still bestow upon us.

I have been wanting to do a film based on Remus Lupin exploring his character and all that. I could have the opening credits with the bright full moon in the background with the opening credits text on top. While Lupin didn’t go mentally insane during his transformations during full moon, I think this song would fit perfectly in the opening credits as like a theme song. Plus I would combine two vastly different fandoms together (the Floydians and the Potterheads).

The song may be called brain damage, but listening to this loudly in a very dimly lit room with a glass of whiskey in my hand is my therapy.
Pink Floyd is the most intelligent and most philosophical band out there! You don't simply listen to Pink Floyd, you experience their music!
It resonates within you, touching the deepest depths of your emotions, leaving you feeling content and slightly sedated.
Pink Floyd create masterpieces without having to resort to aggressive riffs and furious drumming. Pink Floyd never really "break the speed limit" to make art.
