- While adding a water line for a frost-free hydrant, the excavator broke the pipe from the septic tank to the drain field. That's not the worst news in this story, though.

Blessing in disguise except the financial aspect. Nice to see you creating content again.
Indeed!
WOW, it's been so long that I thought you'd left RUclips.
surprise!
Glad to see a video! Sorry about your septic system. We need to catch up sometime!
Agreed!
Before you commit to a new field, you might try digging up the outlet line to the junction boxes. You can take the lids off the junction boxes for inspection and see how far the sludge went. Assuming you have multiple lines in your field you might not have to replace all of them. You can dig them out by hand. If the sludge has not gotten very far into the field lines, you can try cleaning them out. The solids to tend to settle. Obviously you have been living on the system for several years so most of the field may be salvageable.
Nice to see you again
😊
Thanks for the video!

Indeed! Thank you, Jo Jo
Look like lots of work
I'll say! Hi Arun!
@@TheGrassfedHomestead Hi from Himalaya
We've had septic issues as well, I feel your pain. Glad your issue was discovered sooner rather than later.
Me, too. It could've been worse.
Oops. That’s a bummer.
We got a couple of bids on a new septic system. We are developing bare land in North Idaho. We were quoted $13,500 on one bid and the other was $15,000. We are getting one more bid I’m guessing that will be close to the other two.
Any work is just so expensive anymore.
Thanks for sharing. Take care, see ya :)
Do you mind sharing the names of the contractors from whom you're getting bids?
@@TheGrassfedHomestead
Three Bears Contracting out of Kendrick bid $12,000
Black Diamond Excavating out of St. Maries bid $13,500
Carbaugh Contracting out of Fernwood bid $9000
These are for whole new systems.
Of course all bids can change. These are just ballpark. We will have a better idea when the perk holes are done.
wow, that's a lot of soil nutrients ;)
I'll say!
Glad to see you back!
😊
Welcome back
😊
