Prom and graduation are two different events in the states. Prom is a formal school dance held like 1-2 months before the school year ends, which is why the attire is formal or fancy. So essentially it’s the last dance held at the school for the whole school year. And for Seniors who are graduating high school, it will be the very last school dance ever for their whole school career. Graduation is a celebration ceremony held for the completion their last year of high school and all 13yrs of school before going to college. It is held in the last month of the school year, or 1-2 months after prom. So a graduation party wouldn’t necessarily have people dressed up like they would for prom. And in the US we don’t call it a “prom party”, we call it a “prom dance”. Because the prom is like a “ballroom dance” type setting you see in disney movies like Cinderella or Beauty and the beast.
I thought almost every part of the world had prom💀I know in some African high schools have our version of prom. In South Africa, it’s called a Matric Dance as it’s only held in our senior year/ 12th grade.
I'm sure if Korea starts doing proms ,even if it's an all boys school, I'm sure the guys can get dates. The girls will be excited to go, plus what girl don't like getting dressed up and partying ?😉👍
To clarify his doubts, we don’t rent but we buy our dresses for prom, I do still have my prom dress, I love it so I never want to get rid of it, it was strapless black and white princess style dress ❤
They should’ve explained beforehand about what a ‘Prom’ actually is and means as then they would’ve understood the concept better, especially that it’s held at the end of your high school years before going to college & that you attend can as a couple or with just your friends. This channel shows that many Koreans have a lack of understanding about other countries & their culture, it’s still very insular in many ways.
I'm curious, what do you think of Kpop artists wearing short skirts and tight clothing? I personally wouldn't wear the super revealing dresses either. I'm somewhat modest.
In my opinion shorts length to thighs is ok.. but the one which shows half of the booty is a big no no for me.. since female idols tend to have more male fans some creeps may take upskirt shots in concerts ( I've seen lots of people getting caught taking upskirt videos at female idol concert in RUclips itself ) so these type of dresses are not safety for them.. Anybody can wear whatever they want.. but prevention is far better than doing something up to their wish then regretting after getting into serious problems..
I think it’s different because a lot of the idols have very straight figures, so it’s not as surprising or bold as foreigners because they have more shape to their bodies.
