In the Mystery Box, when that guy "reloaded" his Shotgun, you can see SHELLS inside that Shotgun, so apparently that was real. Pistol could have been Blowback BB gun alright.

Actually the Colt M1911 is standard issue throughout all characters in Zombies, not just Dempsey, Nikolai, Richthofen and Takeo, and the newer characters, you were being the noob.
