haha, fun project. When I made a couple of sub boxes for my old jalopy many moons ago, I used MDF then fibre glassed the inside to seal it, and had a small piece of inline circuit that split the bass frequency before the sub amplifier that output to 4 8inch JBL's, was a great little system that broke 2 windscreens, lol.
Sounds like your system was a beast too! 'TINY' had 4 12s and 2 15s, all jbl subs, and a 2000watt rms digital monoblock running series parralel at about 2ohm - 153 decibels in a Renault Clio, used to kick a phone off the roof about a foot in the air! Those were the days 😁

Holly Molly, I don't think mine was anything like 2000 watts though, probably more like 1000, lol. Fun times, seems so long ago now.
