This is the best song in this year's contest, hands down! 12 points to Israel from Canada!
I don't know, I didn't listen completely to any other song this year. But what I do know is that this is by far the best Israeli song at the Eurovision ever. IMHO.

I've seen all the other songs and agree100% this is the best song and geographic
I've seen some commentators say the song tells us to be strong after a romantic break up. Such comments are SO clueless. The dancers here show how the Nova Festival dancers tried so hard to help each other if they could. In the dancing pairs the men hold the women hard, trying to stop the wind from sweeping the women away, but all got swept away.... Towards the end Eden dances as if her wrists are zip tied behind her back. The IDF enterred Rafa yesterday. May they retreive the rest of the hostages soon....

קחי בחשבון שכפי שהסברתי, אני מאוד ביקורתי כלפי שירים ישראלים שנשלחים לאירוויזיון. יש לי סטנדרט אחד לכולם וסטנדרט גבוה יותר למי שמייצגים אותי. ועם ציפיות גבוהות מגיעות (בדרך כלל) אכזבות. עצם העובדה שאהבתי את השיר, אפילו אם לא בכיתי ממנו (לפחות לא מול מצלמה דולקת) היא כבר הישג.
@@yairmohr תודה על התשובה , פשוט השיר מתחבר ודבר הנורא שקרה בשביעי באוקטובר ולדעתי אי אפשר וגם לא צריך לבחון שיר נטו כשיר אם מתלווה אליו סיפור אפשר לקחת בחשבון הרבה פעמים יש סיפור לפעמים אישי אחרי הנפצע ולפעמים סיפור של מדינה גם כשאוקראינה זכתה זה היה שיר עם כוונה לכן קיוויתי שהישראלי תתן לעצמך להתפרק מהשיר אבל הרגשתי משהו טכני ממך, שוב תודה וקצת חפרתי 🫶
@@Dor-c9j ככל שאני מבין את הפורמט של סרטוני תגובה לשירים, רצוי להגיב אך ורק על מה ששומעים, ולא על הרקע. אחרי התגובה הראשונית אפשר לגשת לרקע - אבל אין לי זמן וכוחות נפשיים לעשות את זה עם 37 שירים, ומכיוון שבאף אחד מהשירים האחרים לא הכרתי את הרקע ולא הגבתי עליו, כדי 'לשטח את המגרש', כמו שנהוג להגיד, הדבר ההוגן היה להתייחס לשיר הישראלי ככל שאני יכול 'בוואקום'. אפשר להתווכח האם זה שיקול נכון, אבל זה מה שנראה לי הכי הגיוני.

A very clinical response I find.
The fact that it relates to 7th October does not make it political.
The theme and expression of this song transcends politics. The singer and the dancers interpret a human event of unbelievable horror and inhumanity.
Thank God that against the din of voices that rose up almost immediately and are continuing to rise up across the world, thank God this song has come about and goes some way in recognising an event similar to that which we thought would never happen again.
The song belongs to all broken humanity and should serve as a wake up call to all.

The original name of the song is "October Rain", and it's for a reason. Censoring this song was such a mistake.

Flat, that's a good word to describe it. I couldn't put my finger on what I felt/thought about it and your word totally clicked. As you also said, she's got a good voice! But not even close to Eden's range, control dimensions and quality of sound.

I'll listen to her live performance next week. I'm not watching the rehersals, since I want to be surprised by what I see during ESC.
As for the song reflecting our national sentiment - I didn't want to get into it in this reaction video, but I did tell my colleagues it sounds like a nation-wide music therapy session.
I have seen a lot of reaction videos from all over the world. Many of them did not understand what it was about and didn’t get the symbolism and they still got goosebumps and they cried.
Because they understand through the music. Your reaction is the coldest one I have seen so far.
@@Sandra-Gibora Again, I was trying to not let my personal experiences affect my reaction. And if I didn't cry during Serbia's and Portugal's songs, I was definitely not going to start here.
What you're expecting, Sandra, is not אחדות, but אחידות. A tiny difference in spelling, but a huge difference in meaning.
I’m pretty sure I really did mean unity and not uniformity. And yes I did have to look that latter word up because my Hebrew is very very rusty at best. Without trying to become philosophical here, if there is uniformity, there is less need for unity.And this is exactly why I think unity is needed. You do know the joke about Israel having 8 million presidents, right. I think there is a difference between being a critical part of something or to remove yourself from something completely.

Agree with this so much. It’s a song about pain and loss. It’s a song tributing the dead, the taken, the ones left behind. It’s not political to sing about loved ones. If anything it’s agreeing that this whole conflict is a shitshow, and we’re all tired and broken from it. We just want to hold our loved ones again. That’s a normal human feeling.

הגבתי לשירים לפי הסדר שבו הוכרזו כמייצגים של המדינות השונות בתחרות. את הצילום עשיתי לפני יותר מחודש, ואת הפרסום ביוטיוב תזמנתי לכל ערב מראשון עד חמישי עד הערב שלפני חצי הגמר הראשון. ככה הגענו לזה שהתגובה לעדן עלתה אתמול.
