He just gets out there and experiences life in some pretty funny places I bet. It so reminds me of all sorts of weird shlt I've seen. Like once in a park in the Oakland hills (this was in the 80's when stoners just hung out in parks), I saw a guy who was definitely on that same drug. It started out with him trying chop down a 100 year old redwood tree with his foot and then his fists, and then when that didn't work, he charged the tree from about 12 feet away and head butted it. Then he got into a fight with my friends brother, witch as indestructible as he seemed, was still a big mistake.. Later after he was essentially embarrassed out of the park, the police found him hiding in the bushes on the other side of the freeway for some reason, and the paramedics put him in a straight-jacket, and strapped him down tight to a gurney, and as the paramedics wheeled him by us, he lifted his head up, and with a massive and honestly very friendly at that point (guess he was enjoying the ride) and massive grin, he yells out,, _"Hey! It was really fun partying with you people! Let's do it again, okay?"_ And that's the short version. lols
I totally agree. We all have these experiences but Josh can always see the humor and has amazing delivery. He makes it look so easy but you know he is a crazy smart dude making all laugh at his view point. I just love his entertainment.

Gun violence is raging here in Albuquerque. The government needs to house the homeless and provide medical care. Violence will decrease immediately. And background checks and mental health support. I'm far left but not against gun rights

We never think about weapons in our daily lives. I mean, I own rifles & people can have firearms, but it's just like one of the hundreds of hobbies people have.
Sometimes a comedian can say something so poignant the only thing to say is "Bars". This young man is the peak of observational comedy and he has Richard Pryor/George Carlin level potential if he keeps going strong. I expect great things from Josh in his comedy future. He has that old soul feel to him.
As an autistic person who enjoys watching people, this was very enlightening. I’m a rather large black guy and I now fear that I may have made people very uncomfortable in the past 😅
Esp. since ‘tism makes your resting face something like 🤨😕🫤😛😠 in a lot of cases. People do look a little confused when they catch me watching them. Like they don’t just glance away from me, they usually double-take and look like they’re trying to figure out what it is I want.

So a man got shot in the head and partied for three days, but a cop had an acorn hit a car beside him, then panicked, thinking he was shot and started shooting wildly.
Well, one of those two was rolling their face off, and the other was running on sugar and caffeine. Clearly we know which the cops should be doing if we want to improve their threat responses. 😛
I had to look up the story about that man being shot... no one heard any gunfire and he said it felt like he'd been hit by a rock and it stopped bleeding quickly. I think perhaps he's the victim of one of those bizarre rare cases where someone shot a bullet into the air and it landed in his head. It wasn't a deep wound and took 4 full days to show symptoms. On the other story? Cops shouldn't panic, not about anything. The fight or flight response in a cop should be very supressed so that things like that don't happen. Did they also arrest all the squirrels withing a 2 mile radius?
Maybe it's just because I've seen Vegas cops do a podcast with a wall of blue lives themed liquor behind em but I somehow think "mandatory party legislation (for heroes™)" would go over super well
I was at this show! I drove an hour to see this show & then after had a chance to meet him. What a nice man. And then i drove an hour home & continued laughing out loud alone in my car remembering his set. The comedy that keep on giving!
I was lucky enough to see him live last week, and had to physically cover my mouth several times so as not to spit my drink out on the people in front of me.

It is quite the accomplishment to make a s**cide joke that is so respectful. You don’t belittle mental illness, and you are quite empathetic. The punchline refutes such ideations while acknowledging and validating the person’s emotions, and it draws attention to the way that anxiety disorders can affect a person. All while remaining hilarious. You are a wonderful comic. Thank you.
I saw Josh live at a show recently, and he truly is even more spectacular in person. He possesses such an easy and comfortable command of a room and his delivery of jokes is perfect. So good to see him getting more recognition!
This set was a killer! So many great lines, so many multilevel jokes, great body language too... Josh gets better every week! I'm amazed how he is able to make so much good and fresh material constantly!
It did! He was from Minas and after being shot, he spent the next 3 days enjoying the rest of his beach vacation in Rio, then DROVE 300KM BACK TO MINAS, then DROVE BACK AND FORTH TO RIO AGAIN FOR WORK, and only then, when his arm started acting weird, he went to the hospital where they jumped on him like nobody's business and put him in the CTI. After two hours of surgery, they removed the bullet and he's now recovering at home. It seems there'll be no long term damage, which is nothing short of miraculous.

I feel like my reaction to "shouldn't he have noticed he'd gotten shot in the head" thing is a little unique because I grew up hearing the story of my father being shot in the head and then calling emergency services for his friend who'd also been hurt, driving a good ways down the road, and talking to EMTs all without realizing he'd been shot. So I actually forgot most people don't know that kinda thing can happen XD.
As a born and raised brazilian, I can say, he ain't lying, we are some resilient people! And the shot in the head partying for days, ain't news if you grew up in Rio de Janeiro like myself hehe ❤❤ thanks for being an awesome comedian!!!

It went through the part of his brain that develops during adolescence (can't recall offhand if it's the frontal lobe or something else), and he basically became a case study for how the brain develops during adolescence.
@Banquet42 He was suffering immensely. That changes anyone's personality. It's now thought he was young enough to recover fairly well, especially since he went on to do some complex jobs in the following years.
Y'all hear about that rooster in the early 1900's that got beheaded and survived? The head was completely gone but the brain stem wasn't severed, so this poor chicken was just walking around like that. The owners said he would try to crow and perch. They took him on a tour around the country for like a year until he finally died.

I think there has never been a comic who can do what Josh does every day. Other comics had funny stuff they worked up and ran with but Josh has a new set every day it seems like and it's topical to the hour and minute. FUNNIEST MAN ALIVE.

Keeping the retelling of what could have been a tragic tale positive. Captivating us all who viewed this video on the edge of our seats interested in hearing the strange tale till the end. The pro bass shop story was my favorite. It's freaking hilarious! This is my second time hearing about the man who swam naked in the pro bass store.Josh Johnson throwing so much detail in takes the story to a whole new level . One can see that he does his due diligence before putting together a set. Well done with all the research. It truly paid off. Making this a spectacular performance viewers can really enjoy 🎉
He's been a Daily show writer since 2017 (864 episodes). He's also written for Jimmy Fallon (51 episodes). I think he just became a "corespondent" but I've seen him on the show multiple times in skits or something.
A friend i made in the dorms was Brazilian. I kid you not, within 4 hours of moving in he had his feet up on a table while singing and playing a ukulele.

I recently discovered this guy through The Daily show. This is some top level, really great storytelling comedy here. This guy is awesome and I hope his star just gets brighter and brighter and brighter. He’s lovely.

I had cut my neck, I went to the hospital to see if i needed a stitch and they said 'you got stabbed, who stabbed you?' and i still dont know what happened, it was a fun night though.
the moments where performance mode breaks and you see the genuine disbelief on his face are the cherries on top of this incredibly well-crafted bit. So good

Great set as always. I love that you take hard truths and wrap them in comedy (anxious people make a lot of good points, "maybe you're doing your best!" 😂). And I love your take on current events. I missed the naked man in the bass tank story AND the bullet for 4 days story, and I'm sure your telling of it was 10x more entertaining than if I had seen them myself.
So did Josh record a bunch of material and now he's slowly releasing it, or does he really have the superhuman power to keep dropping this much content!? It's literally amazing!

The pro bass shop story was my favorite. It's freaking hilarious! This is my second time hearing about the man who swam naked in the pro bass store.Josh Johnson throwing so much detail in takes the story to a whole new level . He's been a Daily show writer since 2017 (864 episodes). He's also written for Jimmy Fallon (51 episodes). I think he just became a "corespondent" but I've seen him on the show multiple times in skits or something.
A friend i made in the dorms was Brazilian. I kid you not, within 4 hours of moving in he had his feet up on a table while singing and playing a ukulele.

Great set as always. I love that you take hard truths and wrap them in comedy (anxious people make a lot of good points, "maybe you're doing your best!" 😂). And I love your take on current events. I missed the naked man in the bass tank story AND the bullet for 4 days story, and I'm sure your telling of it was 10x more entertaining than if I had seen them myself.
So did Josh record a bunch of material and now he's slowly releasing it, or does he really have the superhuman power to keep dropping this much content!? It's literally amazing!
