I leave this for everyone in the same case: i tried a 16 gb 3200 MHz Patriot ram stick (Plus 4GB Onboard with the notebook) in this model to see what happened, and the conclusion is that is compatible indeed, it takes the whole 20gbs and dual channel without touching anything. In the manual Lenovo states it only supports 12 GB (4GB + 8GB Installed) but they stated that they have no tested greater values than that so it is possible to install sucesfully greater values

Try removing the RAM and make a BIOS update. Also check the specs of the 16 GB RAM you have installed and make sure that there are the exact same specs with the onboard RAM

Mine has 4Gb ram soldered and another 4Gb stick. How can I upgrade to 16 Gb capacity??
Despite the fact that, officially the laptop supports only 16 GB of RAM, you can add more than that.
All you have to do is to replace the 4GB of RAM from its slot with a 16:GB of RAM, therefore having a total of 20 GB of RAM

Officially it supports 16 GB RAM ( 8 on board and 8 on RAM slot), but users reported that it can be installed much more. So to answer your question, yes you can install 16 GB of RAM on that slot
I would recomand a BIOS update before ading more RAM than officially supported

@@NishantKumar-nq6nl go to Lenovo website pcsupport.lenovo.com/us/en, search the laptop model and download the latest BIOS.
This will include the tool for the update. Just run the tool and everything will be done automatically

Unfortunately the answer is no.
The maximum total amount of RAM supported by this laptop is indeed 16 GB, but composed from an 8 GB 3200 Mhz CL22 DDR4 RAM integrated on the motherboard, and another 8 GB 3200 Mhz CL22 DDR4 RAM which can be installed on the only memory slot available.

@@MadalinCristianRO mersi mult,ar creste FPS in jocuri si cu ce-a de a doua memorie fiind in dual chanel, bine jocuri mai slabe de plictiseala :)) nasol ca nu are bateria detasabila... Chestia aia mica pentru Hard o are inclusa pe undeva s-au tyrebuie comandata banda pentru al doilea hard?
@@marianmarin4106 cu plăcere. Bateria poate fi înlocuită dacă desfaci capacul, și chiar un model de baterie de capacitate mai mare. Găsești mai multe informații în articolul din descriere.
