      I got a lot more out of it when I rented it. I could not appreciate how good it was in the theater bc a lot of the dialogue was fast and I had to have subtitles, and then even rewind a bit to see and hear some of the lines. So, a lot of important lines got past me the first time. After I rented it I was so touched by the movie. It has already helped my faith.(Mark looks really good w longer hair, he has not aged out of that!)

      @Ossie R Fr Stu was different after conversion, and there were many things and people combined. For example, there were 4 Monsignoirs involved, combined into one on the movie. Fr Stu was ordained in the Cathedral of St. Helena, Helena MT, which is very different from the Church shown. He walked up the Isle on crutches. Glad I was there to see it. You'd laugh at his real nursing home, now with changed ownership and name. No room for camera crews. I've heard rumors of a documentary on his ministry, but nothing else. I still see his Dad at Church on occasions.

    This is an excellent movie. I highly recommend everyone, Catholic or non-Catholic go and see this movie. It touches everyone who sees this movie. I left the theater in tears of joy for Fr Stu’s transformation and the many blessings he gave and is still giving.

    I stood up for the movie when some Protestant sisters were having trouble with the language. I looked out the window, pointed to the neighborhood around their business, and said "Take a look around. People live like this."
    A very well done movie with the Grace of God shining through. I smile to think that I had worked at Big Sky Care Center, even though after Father Stu.
    Thank you Father Stu for all you bore and for your beautiful example of God's love. And to your family for sharing this story. God richly bless them!

      They want to evangelize the lost who use this language and identity with it.
      Not preach to the saved choir.
      Remember: Jesus came to save the LOST not to entertain the saved.
      Matthew 9:13 Go and learn what this means, ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’ For I came NOT TO CALL THE RIGHTEOUS, but sinners.’
      EMPHASIS mine, words from Jesus.
      Excellent evangelism project. Beautiful, heart warming movie.

      I haven't seen the movie, I see it tomorrow, but I'll comment.
      I sympathize with you, I suppose the cuss words could have been buzzed out.
      However, I think that leaving in that language might help evangelize those who are very far from God.
      I think the language is actually justifiable under the circumstances of our times--that is, the circumstances of being very far from God and, thus, selfish, self-centered, malicious, fearful.

    • @ossier2796
      @ossier2796 2 года назад +5

      It was real. It was a part of the man who used the words. Without the language you don’t get a true depiction of the man and how he reached salvation.

    This is ridiculous! I'm not going to pay to hear a bunch of f-bombs and other vulgar content regardless if the movie has a good message. The end doesn't justify the means. If The Passion of the Christ had all this filth in it I wouldn't watch that movie either. Frankly, if it's ok to watch and hear all these obscenities in the movie then it's ok to hear all that filth in a priest's homily.

      You better buckle up and take it , they cannot portray his life and sugar coating everything in the movie , this movie will move and touch people, with what we will face in the coming months and years people better learn why God needs us to suffer for him to save souls ,lots are called but few will respond, maybe people will see why father Stu embrace it , it brings me to tears watching him .
      I can’t wait to watch this movie staring Mark Wahlberg as Father Stu , they say it will have you laughing at the start of the movie and have you in tears in the end , Mark had to gain 30lbs in six weeks to portrait fathers Stu life , his saying was we don’t get to choose what happens in our lives but that we cooperate with god , I hope it will inspire many people , most priests shows are portrayed as bad , but there is still great priest out there and he was one of a kind , go see it it could have an impact on you 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

    • @maryrotz2636
      @maryrotz2636 2 года назад

      @@GC-ts3jk Blah, blah, blah. I said what I said.
      If you can't tell Fr. Long's story without committing a bunch of sins in the process then don't tell the story! It's never ok to do evil for a good cause. End of story. Period!!!! If you can't understand that then we'll have to agree to disagree. BTW Jesus had to suffer for every sin we committed so we could enter heaven. Even venial sins. So if you think all the f-bombs and vulgar content is no big deal have yourself nailed to a cross and see how you like it.
