Thank you, yes I actually planted some when I first set up the pond, it disappeared the next year. This season I peaked over the fence and it was completely taking over my neighbors yard!

First of all, your pond looks very nice but two concerns however. Shouldn't the water go from the bottom of the bog to the top and what if that small hole from your overflow gets stuck with a leave or something?

Good. But did you tested its effectiveness and also not sure why it was needed

Thanks, more filtration is always better than less. Its not a necessity, but it will add extra biological filtration, also it will help to lower phosphates and nitrites levels in pond.

I thought the water was suppose to come up from the bottom of the bog, through the gravel.

They would likely be more efficient assuring that water is completely cycled, however in a bog this small I believe it's not too much of a difference
