I think I remember seeing a little jar of Sanka in the corner of the closing credits from the first or second season (as Andy and Opie were walking back from the fishin' hole)

Yes- the sponsor's products were originally seen in the lower corner of the closing credits throughout the entire series.

It's interesting to see how many Monday night shows on CBS were sponsored by General Foods during this era: "I"ve Got a Secret," "The Andy Griffith Show, " "The Lucy Show." I wonder if they sponsored "The Danny Thomas Show"
