I'm sure many other people will point this out, but in the original manga, Zef didn't lose the leg by getting it caught underwater, he cut it off later and ate it since he left all the proper food to young Sanji.

In the manga he didn't lose his leg from diving to save Sanji. He ate it.
this episode left a huge mark on me as a kid, whatever's on my plate i'd make sure to eat all of it and not leave even a tiny piece.
damnnn im realising it now that the VA of kid sanji and chopper are same🫠🫠
That backstory was the moment I knew One Piece was different and finding out what really happened in the manga made that moment hit harder.
*Also, i would not recommend watching *that 1 video of the One Piece live cast video of their knowledge about One Piece* bc Im on EP900, and they answered/spoiled 2 minor spoilers that surprised even me, and im even more surprised some of the castmates knew the answers to those questions (The minor spoilers weren't that bad but still sucks to see it).
