5.30 in the morning .. coffee ready, I enter youtube and find a cool video on Indesign explained with a smile. I love this software and I have used this function many times to create diplomas and certificates. A nice way to start the day. Thanks Angel
Thank you SO MUCH for this ! Great tutorial, Indesign is really so much more capable now. I just found out though: -The files in the images folder are PSD - the function doesn't work with PSD (or just not for me?), PNG was fine though - the image size of the PNG has to be perfectly matched perfectly already
That is perfect! Have just discovered data merge and it feels like there is a whole new world opening for the Adobe programs when the data merge is used. I havn't tried with images yet- does it work with both jpg and png? All the best- love your channel 🌸🙏
Also, I'm totally new to data merge and have only started trying to use it today. I was trying to make a data merge from an excel file (csv) where the short text within a single box was about to change. I ran into some problems though and I don't know exactly why, I only have a theory. In my document I have 14 pages, but there was only one of them that had a placeholder with the data merge header drawn into it, and I wanted the other pages to remain still and not being altered or copied. Is that possible to do in some way?? Or is every single page inside the document always copied or altered with data merge? The thing that happened was that the entire document, the 14 pages, multiplied for each time the page with the data merge variable created its new page, meaning I ended up with a 5010 page document 🫤 Do you have a fixer for this? Really appreciate it- and thanks for a great video 🙏🌸
@@AngeloMontilla Thanks! So kind of you to answer! I actually have another question too if you don´t mind. Do you know of a way to use data merge on just a few pages in a bigger document without getting all of the pages copied when the data is merging. Meaning- is there a way to "hide" pages from the data merge process so that the whole thing doesn´t get multiplied when the new pages are created? I tried making a data merge in a 14 page document where I only placed placeholders on the last page, and I ended up with 5010 pages every time. Do you know of a way? All the best and have a great day!
I'm just confused about how to generate the QR of a specific link? like we don't need complete info through the QR, just an external link (QR) will go to IG or something. it's around 1400 cards, and different links (QR code)
