Great performance and coordination between Gert and Marjolein; playing, pulling stops, moving around each other, page turning, coupling the manuals, etc. You two make a great team!

I've heard this played by so many organists, but nothing can top this!! And, what fantastic teamwork!
This has to one of the most heart soaring organ pieces ever. When those pedal octaves come in and the whole building starts to vibrate it’s out of this world, I love the way Gert doesn’t rush. You can hear every note and it’s so magnificent.. Thanks, Gert. ♥️🇦🇺
The speed is perfect
OH...why are my eye's all watery and red...allergies? Ha!...NO...its from listening to this a few times....chill bumps from head to toe. Such Talent!
Ahh the magnificent Widor's Toccata - nothing else could brighten up a dull Saturday afternoon quite like it and watching you two working together just broadened my smile. Thank you, Gert and Marjolein
Steady tempo, start to finish. Wonderful bass. Great multiple seconds of reverberation at the end as an Amen!

As a piece that we're all very familiar with, it's rare to hear a performance where something isn't just a little bit off. But this performance and organ are a perfect balance. The melodies sing out clearly and the powerful pedal stops make themselves felt. Doubly impressive for not having presets - special congratulations and thanks to Marjolein!
Who cannot enjoy this? It is sheer perfection: the tempo, the virtuosity, the majesty - utterly, absolutely, magnificent!

Finally - a performance of this piece which (mostly) DOESN'T use 16' stops on the manuals!!! It sounds so much better and less muddy without them!

I love this piece. I had it as the recessional at my first wedding. I like that organ. Sliding the top manual to link it to the lower manual is something I've never seen before.

Hi Gert just to thank you for your wonderful organ playing. My father was a church organist and my youngest son was church organist. At the age of 74 I have started to play again as it is on my wish list to play Widor and Bach. I have watched all your utube videos and from your youngest to seeing your lovely family. If you come to Hanley again I shall make sure I come to hear you play. You have been blessed. Absolutely amazing talent and a lot of hard work.

This is the fifth performance of the Toccata from Widor's 5th Symphony I have viewed on YT this afternoon. And the second by Gert van Hoef. The earlier was from Ghent. This really does move to the top. And thanks to the audio team!

I've listened to several performances of this piece. Gert's is the best. He can handle the faster tempo and still be smooth and clear.

Great and fine presentation. Clear sound and repertuar of different colours audible. Splendid recording!
Outstanding performance! Tempo was sprite but not overly rushed and superbly smooth and steady. Keeping the proper tempo rolling throughout this seems to be the biggest challenge I've noticed. While this isn't the most grand sounding of all the pipe organs, it is very capable and you didn't completely washout the keyboard work with overwhelming pedal...which also seems to be a common problem with players of this piece. Overall though, BRAVO, Sir!

One of my favorite pieces that I never tire of hearing! In my country Canada we don't have many tracker organs like you have, so I am astounded at how you play them. Moving keyboards. You had me in tears!

I've seen and listened to so many fantastic concerts of Gert van Hoef here on RUclips. Only one example: Your interpretation of the "Danse macabre" by Saint-Saens in Geraardsbergen is absolutely outstanding, to my mind better than Olivier Latrys (!!) interpretation at the giant new Rieger organ in the Symphony Hall in Paris. Furthermore I ordered three of your own compositions in your onlineshop. Why does such a highly talented organist play Widor's famous Toccata from his 5th Symphony on an organ that is not suitable for this? For example the pedal range is only C-d1 , for Widor's Toccata you need C-f1 ! The organ has no "Recit", which is necessary for the dynamic range of the Toccata. Gert, you know very well, why you wrote " Het stuk staat niet op de cd." I hope, you will not be too angry. I really appreciate your art of playing the organ!!
