I just did the pull start. You need the ugga-dugga to get that bolt out. I took out the air box to do it.

The trick is to have fun and not wreck. That's not as much fun though so...... it happens! Glad it didn't roll over on you. Take care and be safe! Have fun too!

Looking at the same machine for plowing. It's August but better to buy now and be ready! How did it do plowing for you? Any need to upgrade to stiffer front springs or are the stock ones handling the weight ok? Thanks and looks like an easy repair job.

I’d buy the same machine again. If I didn’t have employees I probably would get the manual shift version. The plow is very lightweight. No need for upgraded springs. Stock tires aren’t the best for traction but they worked fine for us.

@@ThriftyGarage Thank you for the response. Good to know about the tires.

Nice Job! How fast were you going when you hit the tree?
To remove the crankshaft bolt, use a 1/2 inch impact driver and a 2ft driver extension coming in from the rear of the machine. That was the only way I could get it out when installing my pull start.

I wasn’t driving when it hit the tree. Nor did I see it. But by the sounds of it it was pretty fast, 15-20 mph or maybe more.
Thanks for the tips on the pull start. I’ll tried my 1/2” Makita but perhaps I’ll have to give it another go!

@@ThriftyGarage Oooof. That hurt my heart to see it mashed up, but the design is sound, to allow the rack/bumper to absorb the impact and save the frame.
I used a Milwaukee with a wall plug and it worked, barely. They really have that crankshaft bolt in there good.
