It’s my voice you are hearing as the QF28. Captain Keith Marriott flying, me pilot monitoring and doing the comms, S/O’s Greg Moore and Alex Jones backing us up. A sad but very proud afternoon. A great clip of the event. Thank you.
Not a problem at all, it was my pleasure. You all did a great job of suitably seeing off the Qantas 747, definitely a staple of Australian Aviation. Well done. Here's to the future, we'll all be back in the air soon. All the best to you all. Stay safe and stay healthy. Cheers.
Hey Rod, I work for the Qantas Group, tug driving towing and pushing the mighty 747 for 33 yrs. Its a sad day that she is being retired. Good luck to you and hope you have a great future.
Shane Sommerville Hi Shane, great to meet you here. Nothing is known yet about the 747 fate - we are storing them for now. They MAY return to the skies briefly. You’ve seen enough in your 33 years to know that the on,y sure thing is perpetual uncertainty!
I loved working on this beautiful a/c from when the 1st was delivered, up until my retirement in 1988. Had wonderful times with different crews, and enjoying the slip ports we flew to. Good bye you lovely lady, you will always be the Queen of the Skies.Chris Robertson
Used to go plane spotting at the crack of dawn when QF2 would make its appearance through the beautiful clouds as she makes its way from London to Bangkok onto Sydney. Wonderful teenage-hood memories.
Absolutely wonderful to watch and listen...thank you so much for putting that together...feeling so sad and full of nostalgia as I spent 30+ years working on the Queen of the Skies...so many fabulous memories and stories..
I have been on this jumbo it is great to see it's final landing having carried many many people over its time in service, would be nice if it spends retirement somewhere nice not out in the desert.

SOUTHWEST 7138 do you have any links of picture or article?
SOUTHWEST 7138 or maybe it’s just a rescue flight?

Not a problem at all. Glad I could suitably recreate the event for all of us to look back on. Definitely an iconic and wonderful aeroplane.
GROUNDED... NOT RETIRED. It was the last International flight of QF before all the A380's, B787 and B747 grounded...
