I was fortunate to fly VH-OEH on 17th February and I was shocked to hear the retirement of the B747 fleet. It is truly a sad day for aviation to see Qantas and KLM retire their B747s. Thank you for your service, you majestic Queens of the Skies 😭
That was lovely to watch. I had a strong connection to the 744, firstly in Maintenance Planning as they were my fleet, and then in Flight Operations, as I had the 744 Ops Manual. I was on board for the 1st test flight for VH-OJU at Everett Field just over 20 years ago. When it left the QF fleet, it had 92,000 hours up. That's good service and quality maintenance. Well done Qantas.
Wow, how cool was that! One of my favourite jumbo's. The 747, the most beautiful, magnificent and incredible aircraft to fly on. Love you OEH. Thanks for the memories and happy retirement :)
One of the things I loved about the 747 was the space right down the back near the rear toilets where you could stretch your legs, look out the window etc. Sadly, no other aircraft has an area like that, even the A380.
That brings back a few memories although our approaches were a little more direct onto 16R. Great to see the queen from a external perspective. Fantastic aircraft!
747s are living on in USA/Europe as 747 Cargo planes. Lufthansa just ordered new 747s. She's not dead yet, while A380 Double Decker has been cancelled in meantime.
Great video thanks! Imagine how annoying it would be for the pilot flying if his very last landing of a B747 was way worse than his normal standard. On a brighter note it is going to be good to see the USA's Air Force One 747s flying around for some time & then the new B747 Air Force One planes.
Nothing more beautiful than a Qantas 747.
This footage is beaultiful and sad at the same time. Rest well Australian queen.
What gorgeous air to air footage. The B747 may be jumbo-sized but its form and lines are just so elegant.
Queen of the skies 💕and Jumbo Jet are still flying forever

Absolutely stunning, R.I.P 747's. 😥

Beautiful. Plus magnificent camera work.

Sweet, have flown out of there on the 747 beautiful city 🇨🇦
If I was Qantas, I'd save up and purchase atleast one 747-8. There is still time for more Australian 747
We saw use from the airport at the Illawarra, so sad, but beautiful
One last flight left for the Jumbo QF28 😪😪😪😪😪 Absolutely sad goodbye Queen
