It would be nice if Behr answered the questions submitted by viewers. I bought a gallon of the gray (650) back in 2020 and applied it to two steps and a landing in the garage, to make getting into and out of the house safer. Didn't use a roller but applied it with a brush on verticle and horizontal surfaces, making sure that I stirred the can often. Two coats and the stuff worked beautifully. It has not degraded in three years. Total area covered by the gallon was approximately 25 square feet with a third application to finish the gallon this Fall, to deepen the texture.
My major complaints are the Gray color dries about three shades lighter than what is pictured on the can and in pamphlet and the area coverage claimed is 2 times more than what I got. I got one coat out of 2 gallons on 100 Sq ft smooth concrete patio.
This product works and is pretty amazing. But as you know, it's super thick. So a paint tray is useless. You're gonna have to pour it on the surface, then push it around. From there you can start using the paint roller through it. Be prepared to use alot of cans. Took me 8 cans for a 350 sq ft patio.
Currently using this on an outdoor pebble stone floor that has existing paint on it. I had to cut in with 3 very heavy coats. Now I'm using the roller they suggested & so far the first coat went on extremely thin. It'll take atleast 3 coats to cover. Not worth the $350+ it costs for a 5 gallon bucket of this product. I will let yall know how it turns out.
@@larrysorenson4789 the existing paint is good paint. Won't say the same for this product. It came out good but not worth the price. Takes too many applications. Good paint doesn't make you work harder.
Thank you for the information I wish I knew this before I did my floors last year, because the results weren't so good, now I see I didn't do it the right way, but I want to redo it Can I apply more granite grip on top of the old one? or on a painted floor?
I have vinyl siding next to the concrete surface so Muriatic acid won't be able to be used. What ELSE will clean the concrete sufficiently? The surface had a carpet on it before and every time it gets wet that area shines so I'm guessing there's an adhesive still on the concrete.
I have a couple of questions, do I really have to use the muriatic acid ? You see I want to use this granite on a place that I have a lot of plants around, will the acid kill my plants when the water runs all over when I rinse ? By the way I love your video !!!thank you.
i have a fairly new bushed concrete surface that i originally sealed with drylock. can i simply degrease/wash and apply this product, or will i need to muraic acid it?
Hello Behr. Would this product work great on my backyard concrete patio? It has a trimmed edge with dark grey pavers. Will the Muriatic Acid alter or ruin the pavement?
It took 3 coats on stamp concrete & a lot of patience the roller works but it comes out best if you hand brush. My husband wants to kill me for starting this project.

I chose and bought three $55 gallons of the Autumn Mountain color because I wanted a darkish black granite look on my patio concrete slab. After two coats the color is nothing like the pamphlet!! It has the sandy texture but the color is basically (slightly peachy) the same as my gray concrete prior to the two day prep and back breaking painting I did. Not recommended.
It says I can use this on interior concrete I don't know if I want to take my pressure washer inside my house and spray my concrete but I would love to paint the concrete inside my house
I have larger cracks that I'll need to repair first. Can you use this product over repairs you've done of larger cracks? For example, Red Devil Concrete Patch.
From the other independent videos I have watched on the application of Granite Grip, this appears to be a real challenging product to apply to get good results. It doesn't roll well as it has the consistency of thick cake batter with sand in it. Unlike the pristine results shown in this video, the others end up with less uniform and blotchy color appearances. I imagine the only good way to apply this product would be with a sprayer and not just a roller.
Use the product; had a 10 x15 area; put the first coat on with a 4” polyester brush; wanted to make sure it was good into the concrete; for the 2nd coat planned & started with a 1/4 adhesive roller; I didn’t care for the look or the way the coverage was going so I just went back to the 4” brush; it took approximately 2 1/2 hours with a one 15 minute break & 30 minute break; you definitely do not want to use outside if the temperatures are in the middle nineties on concrete or it will start to blister and that was with using a bonding primer. When done I like my results exactly what I was looking for.
Is it better than the Restore product. We tried the Restore and it lasted about 5 years on our wooden deck, we had to strip it all as it was peeling in very large surfaces.
My pool deck had cool deck pray coat on top of concrete. Then 3 layers of paint over several years. How much do I need to remove? I already acid washed and pressure cleaned. I think I would like to try this now. Thank you for advise!!!
HI Rose-Anme, thank you for your interest in our Granite Grip coating. Before applying Granite Grip to your pool deck, we'd recommend removing any loose coating, etching all the bare concrete areas, cleaning the surface with a concrete cleaner and degreaser, and allowing it to dry for at least 24 hours. Keep in mind that although Granite Grip can be used over both oil or water-based paints or stains, we wouldn't recommend applying it directly over the Kool Deck coating. We hope this info helps. Again, thank you for your interest in our products, and best of luck with your project. Have a wonderful weekend.
Hi c s - Granite Grip is an extra durable finish that will hold up to all kinds of weather conditions. When removing snow and ice from the surface, we recommend using a plastic snow shovel. This coating is also chemical resistant to de-icing salts like Calcium Chloride or Magnesium Chloride. We recommend avoiding Sodium Chloride or Rock Salt as they tend to be more corrosive and may cause the coating to wear prematurely.
Hi Ezzat! The Granite Grip is weather and moisture resistant, however, it will not waterproof the surface. Click here for more details: spr.ly/60531Jhz1
It is expensive product as I ended up buying 6 cans $300. And my wife is not happy with the result. Result per dollar is disappointing, and 2 shades make it too confusing, don't know what is the purpose of it if you have to mix the color.
Don't use Granite Grip to fill stucco cracks. Depending on the size of the crack you can use DAP's Dynaflex 230 caulk for the smaller cracks. Larger cracks can be filled with a latex tile grout caulk.
