Well, you had to go and do it. You just had to. You had to go and make me buy my fourth JHS pedal, and the third one I've seen you demo. First the Morning Glory, then the Panther Cub, and now the Superbolt. You are the scourge of my wallet, but the hero of my board. Keep it up, you gnarly, yet smooth, bottle of bourbon!
A fat wallet can't lead to a killer tone, but a killer tone can lead tone fat wallet, which can lead to a killer tone, which can lead to a fatter wallet, which can lead to... (descends into slow madness)....
I like that even though your playing is kind of show-y, it doesn't sound like every other pseudo bluesy pedal reviewer and you really seem to having the time of your life jamming out
Jay--I just discovered your channel and your demo reviews this weekend: amazing! I'm really impressed with the JHS line that you showcased this past week. Thanks for sharing your enthusiasm and passion, and your incredible talent with us. I'm a bass player who dabbles with guitar as well, but now I want to get a Tele and practice, practice, practice! Thanks again for inspiring me.
I love JHS pedals. but sadly im poor and cant afford them. but I respect the quality of them and love to hear them. thank you for all the hard work you put into your video's Rock on Jay! oh yeah! im in love with your Telecaster here in these videos. absolutly everything i look for in one telecaster. WOW!! What a guitar! :)
Even more specifically you help keep guitar playing fun but offer a passionate and detailed review of the product. I love when you pull out 90's jams. Often other demos don't give relevance to its tone. They just noodle around and you don't get a real time players angle. Getting my Matthews Astronomer on the mail today. I probably won't sleep tonight. Haha.
This pedal is like the matrix Red or blue. lol This pedal interest me a lot. Great 3rd stage pedal. I really love the idea of the additional red remote stop, it's like having one of those "double barrel size" pedal but in a single stop box size, which comes in handle when you don't have a lot of room. :)
Ooh, the Kilt is an incredibly versatile overdrive that goes from clean to fuzzy. The Superbolt really focuses on nailing the tone of a specific amp and does a great job at it. Both are killer
Bro, for real. There should be people like you in every guitar store. You practically can sell me any pedal you review Jajaja. Great work. Thinking of opening a channel myself :)
Thanks, haha. Definitely open a page. It is a lot of work, but an absolute blast. Give me a PM when you post your first vid and I'll be one of you first subscribers :)
Hey man! I just found your channel and your demos are awesome! Have you tried the Superbolt or any of these JHS overdrives into a Vox amp? I'm not sure which one is the right for me. Thanks!
+Mario Cáceres great question. When it comes to Vox rigs, I tend to lean more to treble boosters, full range boosters, and less mid-focused pedals like the Colorsound Overdriver, Crowther Hotcake, and BK Tube Driver. I'd give those a shot :)
watched all the vids, all of them incredible good, really. keep up the astonishing good job!! one suggestion/request: give the humbuckers some love! please? T_T
+Renan Beltrão Great comment! I've been a Tele player so long: I don't think I would do the HB's any justice, haha. However, with comments like this, I may have to change my mind...
honestly, i gravitate to your demos/reviews BECAUSE you play a tele. if you want humbuckers ... well ... thats mostly all i can seem to find on other gear demos.
NOOOO! The end of JHS Week makes me sad... You have about 1600 subs... we (your subs) have GOT to share these videos and get you more exposure. This series was fantastic! REQUEST: Wampler Week? Keely Weekend? Boss (ah, never mind), Earthquaker Device Day?
+ckjjclan Thanks so much for your support. It's been wonderful watching the slow growth of the page. I'll just keep making videos and hope the people keep watching.
JayLeonardJ Jay look at this only one year ago 1600 subs and now 7,000 subs. See it's just a matter of time until guitarists find u. I'm very happy for u. I hope u don't forget the people that knew u when. 😉
Great Review as always Leo and great pedal! Hey wanna know! What guitar pick you use it looks like you use dunlops Tortex 73mm the yellowish ones!!!??? Right????
+Joshbw3 I have two Bigsby Teles: a yellow 1968 with an Ash/Maple Cap combo and a Blue Custom shop 2011 with a Alder/Maple Cap combo. Both are fire-breathing monsters :)
+JayLeonardJ Im thinking of getting a JHS Colour Box, someone told me to get it because the high pass filter is gonna help me cut through a mix so much better. Is this true?
+Brett Benson Yes it does. Particularly if your play a bottom heavy pedal like a Big Muff. It will tighten up your sound and help you separate your tone from the bass guitarist/kick drum :)
Luke is thrown a little off balance there, you have answered the question of why he went into hiding for so long lol. Fun demo and boy can your wife move, with all due respect! Your a lucky man.
Okay I will? But surley you have exercises for the other hand. Like tempo wise and triplet or 8ths or 16. I can play 16 notes at about 100 even but get stuck at like a wall there. But also thanks for responding so quickly that's so cool. You're and incredible guitarist and im jealous of your rad skills
Hmm... If speed is what your after, I would focus on learning jazz saxophone lines: buy the Charlie Parker Omnibook and shred through it. The intervalic leaps you see in Sax bop lines are very counterintuitive to what we would naturally do as guitarists: learning how to work our way around those intervals and positions will greatly increase your dexterity and strengthen your harmonic knowledge. Good luck.
Vintage or reissue? I play a vintage blackface Princeton Reverb with a similar Princeton Amp in stereo. TASTY! And combined, loud as one would ever want...
Not a dumb question at all. The Twin Twelve is warm and full and sounds very 50s Chicago Blues. The SuperBolt has a lot more sizzle and more of a early Zep thing going on.
I definitely am always changing thing up. Typically you will hear me plugging my amp head into a Suhr Reactive Load and running the Redwirez IRs in my DAW. I have also used the Iconoclast on a few occasions as well :)
Dude you can seriously play. I really enjoy this video. You dont just play blues riffs. You play all sorts of stuff. Keep it up.
+Joshua Roberts Thanks so much! I'm about to post a video for a '50s Gibson L-4 That might be right up your alley :)
the happiest demos on youtube.... keep smiling, its contagious!
+STEVE LEITNER I will :) Thanks for watching
Well, you had to go and do it. You just had to. You had to go and make me buy my fourth JHS pedal, and the third one I've seen you demo. First the Morning Glory, then the Panther Cub, and now the Superbolt. You are the scourge of my wallet, but the hero of my board. Keep it up, you gnarly, yet smooth, bottle of bourbon!
Haha, I really appreciate it. All 4 of those pedals are absolute killers: who needs a fat wallet when you can have killer tone ;)
A fat wallet can't lead to a killer tone, but a killer tone can lead tone fat wallet, which can lead to a killer tone, which can lead to a fatter wallet, which can lead to... (descends into slow madness)....
you are an enthusiastic, well adjusted person
I like that even though your playing is kind of show-y, it doesn't sound like every other pseudo bluesy pedal reviewer and you really seem to having the time of your life jamming out

+4stringkingstf I really appreciate your great comments! Keep practising and good luck with the Tele :)
Found this channel. Watched all 7 JHS videos smiling. Subscribed.
Always educational & entertaining Jay. Thanks!
I wish I could give this two thumbs up for the most joyous Sabbath cover ever.
One of the only demos that uses it with the gain not cranked the entire time. Right on! Sounds killler
Really appreciate it, thanks :)
No more coffee for you.....ever! Nice demo.
1 sec before ya shut it down,, Ill have what hes havin ,, make it a double. Lol
Love how you go nuts on the guitar, dude! Really fantastic playing, love your version of over the hills.
Love the almost fuzz territory it gets when cranked. Your wicked right hand riffing doesn't hurt, either.
mad props for throwing in a modest mouse nod! awesome
Man, this pedal is FEROCIOUS. Thanks for showing a Tele and a princeton can destroy.
You can really play, and I dig watching a guy having fun.
+Nick paflas Thanks man! It's easy to make a Tele, Princeton, and great Fuzz sound good... life is sweet :)
You have way too much fun! Thanks always enjoy. Keep em coming
Great 👍 review! Thank you 🙏 helped me make a decision on my purchase! Great playing and positive vibes! Love JHS!
Really appreciate it! Hope it works well with your rig!
Ahhh I love watching your demos they are so much fun. And thorough. Seriously, great work bro!
Yeah, they are definitely a lot of work to make, but it is worth it to see people getting something out of them :)
I love watching your facial expressions while you're playing more than your playing... Awesome dude, awesome LOL love it!
Thanks so much dude!
You're fun. You have made me want to get this now. Great demo.
Thanks so much!
My God Jay this is the tone ive been searching for. Great video my man keep up the great work
You got it! Let me know how it works out for you :)
Lol
God damn dude....you are incredible player. I go back through your channel and watch these vids just to see you jam.
Unreal 🤘🏻
Thanks dude!
Have not heard a demo from you that did not make me immediately try and purchase the product lmao, best player in RUclips by far!
Hello...really like your videos...in your opinion which is fatter and potentially fuzzier the JHS Superbolt or the Twin Twelve?
Thanks!
The Twin Twelve is definitely the fatter pedal. The Superbolt is much zippier :)
You make that tele sound amazing dude. Don’t mind me I’ll just be stealing whatever Hendrix/SRV/zep licks from you that I can handle 🤙
Steal away and thanks so much for watching!
Smashed that like button in a second flat.
Thanks :)
I love how much expression you play with, makes my day a whole lot happier!
Haha, I really appreciate it!
This pedal is like the matrix Red or blue. lol

You said it. The two stages work especially well in this pedal. Really killer unit.
Oh man. Great demo. Now I need one!
+Joseph Donald You'll love it :)
Hey Jay, do you know the difference of this pedal and The Kilt? Thanks man, love your videos and demos
Ooh, the Kilt is an incredibly versatile overdrive that goes from clean to fuzzy. The Superbolt really focuses on nailing the tone of a specific amp and does a great job at it. Both are killer
You play with some contagious energy, it's really fun! That pedal goes really well with the telly, wonder how it would sound with a Les Paul.
Great video...love your passion for playing! Keep it up!
Maaaan your demos make me wanna buy a tele
+Raphael Vierlinger They make me want to practice a whole lot more.
Haha, thanks guys!
+JayLeonardJ
Sell me that tele!
Awesome, as per usual Jay!
Jay your playing is amazing, your pick hand blows me away. What gauge pick do you use?

Love these videos! seriously!

sounds really sharp. biting
keep on doing this...

Fantastic ! demo, your video was the trigger for I get one (:
+Mark Martins Awesome! Let me know how it works out for you!
+JayLeonardJ Arrived today and blow my mind! I'm using on my fender Vibrolux, dude!! is the bolt in the box! thanks again for the review (:
Vibrolux: the greatest stompbox amp ever!!! Glad to hear you dug it :)
Nice! Love your playing!
Oh yeah, and The Ocean. As you can probably tell, I like Zeppelin.
you're the most expressive pedal reviewers lol I love it!
I really appreciate it :)
Great Review as always Leo and great pedal! Hey wanna know! What guitar pick you use it looks like you use dunlops Tortex 73mm the yellowish ones!!!??? Right????
+Jonathan Rodriguez Yup, those are my old dependables... and easy to find when you drop them on a dark stage :)
+JayLeonardJ Thanx bro! :)
1:42 That's just awesome!
Great demo! Great playing!
great reviews!! suscribed instantly
Thanks so much!
Another awesome Video, thanks! If I could I would vote you to be King of RUclips.
Haha, it's good to be king :)
ash body on the telecaster? loving the look of it too. what's the year on that bad mamma jamma?
+Joshbw3 I have two Bigsby Teles: a yellow 1968 with an Ash/Maple Cap combo and a Blue Custom shop 2011 with a Alder/Maple Cap combo. Both are fire-breathing monsters :)
I hope u get a chance to demo the JHS ruby red. It's great and I'm sure you would do a great job demoing it. I'm going to keep an eye out and hope.
We actually have a pretty awesome group of JHS videos coming up... Unfortunately, no Ruby Red yet. Maybe I should give them another reach out ;)
+JayLeonardJ Im thinking of getting a JHS Colour Box, someone told me to get it because the high pass filter is gonna help me cut through a mix so much better. Is this true?
+Brett Benson Yes it does. Particularly if your play a bottom heavy pedal like a Big Muff. It will tighten up your sound and help you separate your tone from the bass guitarist/kick drum :)
Love that tele
very Jay what type of tele pickups do you use
+Jonah Laurich I used Virgil Arlo pickups for the entire series :)
Luke is thrown a little off balance there, you have answered the question of why he went into hiding for so long lol. Fun demo and boy can your wife move, with all due respect! Your a lucky man.
+Dennis Mccann hahaha....!
Jay is very entertaining. Great player and all around funny guy!
Jay, what can I do practice-wise to build speed? you play incredibly fast and clean
Focus on the picking hand: the more deliberate and controlled it is, the tighter your fast lines will sound :)

Okay thankyou I'm doing already with my jazz teacher learning tbe jazz solo in tangerine by Stan Get so I'll keep it up, thank you
Jay - first off, GREAT DEMOS!! Also, can you tell us what you're using for a clean tone? Is it a Princeton? Because it sounds stupid good.
It is :) Awesome ears!
Vintage or reissue? I play a vintage blackface Princeton Reverb with a similar Princeton Amp in stereo. TASTY! And combined, loud as one would ever want...
This might be a dumb question, but what's the difference between this and the Twin Twelve?
Not a dumb question at all. The Twin Twelve is warm and full and sounds very 50s Chicago Blues. The SuperBolt has a lot more sizzle and more of a early Zep thing going on.
so which jhs pedal is your most favorite?
hmm... I will say that the Charlie Brown has gotten the most work on my board, but they are all sooooo awesome!
Hello! Very nice videos! Can u tell us how's the signal process going? Thanks!
+DAVID HERRERA For this particular series: Tele - pedal - princeton - Cab sim - Logic
Hi -
Just found your channel - subscribed immediately!
What amp are you using for these demos?
+Ken Neagle I really appreciate the add! Not much beats a good old fashioned Fender Princeton :)
amen to that, my brother
Super fun week. Let's do a Keeley week or a Strymon week sometime!
Yes Keeley week please!
I would love nothing more than anther week intensive. I just need to find a pedal maker to be game for it :)
What kind of tele is that specifically? Looks like a player. Great playing/demo!!
It is a Custom Shop Bigsby Tele with Virgil Arlo pickups; It's been pretty beaten up over the years but still rings like a champ!
Hey Jay! which cab simulator did you use in this video? Thanks!!
I think, back in those days it was just a miked Princeton NR :)
In other comments you mension that you used a cab simulator (maybe in other video). Which one could it be?
Thanks!! :)
I definitely am always changing thing up. Typically you will hear me plugging my amp head into a Suhr Reactive Load and running the Redwirez IRs in my DAW. I have also used the Iconoclast on a few occasions as well :)
Thanks again Jay! ;) keep delighting us with your channel :)
I love your playing man!!
I dont know if buy this pedal or falcon drive
Man you people have to stop with these great demos!! My wife is gona kill me for byeing so much overdrive!! Great Demo!!!
+Pablo Colon I know. They just keep getting better and better too!
Lol same issue here.
Do you have band or do any music you can link me to? Your pickin' is hypnotic
hey great playing man!
thanks!
So I have a Charlie Brown and Klon type pedal. What would go best with them super bolt or twin twelve. I would want them with the gain all the way up!
Hmmm... I think the Twin Twelve on the Blue channel might be a really fun match up :)
JayLeonardJ awsome! Thank you so much!!
Dude great demo! What was the song at the beginning?
"Over The Hills And Far Away" - Led Zeppelin. Thanks for writing :)
His sound is HiFi vintage
I've got a Dualtone 1624t and this nails it
THAT'S what a Dual-Tone sounds like cranked?! Hoohah. I wish my Saturn MKII got that gnarly. Guess I'll just have to buy this pedal to make up for it
Hi, can I ask what pick ups you're using on your tele?
+Art Viryasiri Great question: ruclips.net/video/wvNViiuV2c0/видео.html
+JayLeonardJ thanks so much, I've been finding info about upgrading pu for my tele.
Love your demos man... you stand out. But try to decrease a tad your top end... I've heard that in 2 videos already. Keep up the good work.
Hey what speakers are those in the back?
One is the stock 8" speaker in the MicroPro mk2 and the other one is a 1x12 G12H
Hey man! What amp are you running?
I think this one was a Princeton NR
whats the name of the song that you played at 3:50 ?
+Kelsey Riha "Float On" by Modest Mouse
+JayLeonardJ thanks
yoda I burst laughing
Wonder how he acts live?
Haha... BLR is great!
Dude u just made me bought a superbolt
Awesome, you'll love it :)
JayLeonardJ love it already got it yesterday! Ha
What is the name of this song? 0:26
5:30 the O face
This makes Black Sabbath sound?
With humbuckers of course.
Video seems that not enough gain for black sabbath
So what’s your favorite JHS pedal of the bunch you have tried ?⚡️
Great question. Probably the Colourbox :)
JayLeonardJ 👍👍
what song is that after "early zeppelin tele tone"
Ooh, I do two Zepps in this one. The songs that follow both respectively are "Float On" and "Iron Man". Hopefully that helps :)
JayLeonardJ thank you sir
What song does he start playing at 3:50?
"Float On" - Modest Mouse
It’s all fun and games till someone breaks their neck..
Seagulls.....Stop it now!!
Yikes... this video had me reaching for an invisible treble knob on my computer that I could turn down... unbearably bright tone.
Agudo pra po..
lol 5:59
Odd (trying to be kind) sounding pedal. Can't imagine anybody liking that. Nothing close to Zeppelin as far as I can tell.
turns your amp just into a trebly, scratchy monster. Not for me
Sounds absolutely terrible, you have your amp set to too much clean so I hear a layer of overdrive AND clean...
I’m assuming your joking? Kinda hard to tell. If you aren’t joking, you’re an absolute idiot lol
Sounds like shat!!!! hey dude you ever hear turning the treble down
You're good, but the tone is this demo is shit. Sounds nothing like Led Zeppelin.
