- In this video I visit FJRS in their new premises at Braintree, Essex. I thought it would be useful to film a point of view walk around so anyone looking to get booked in can get an insight into what the place is like.
These guys are genuinely passionate about their business and will go the extra mile to provide the best service for their customers. I won’t take my RS anywhere else now!

I'm typing this in the Holiday Inn in Braintree as my MK7 is currently with FJRS where they are taking it from MP215 to M285 with Roll Restrictor and Mountune front and rear brakes. This video is absolutely spot on - Fred and his team are consummate professionals and serious petrol heads. Fred couldn't be more welcoming and has kept me updated on everything they're doing. I can't wait to get behind the wheel of my Fezza tomorrow. It has been well worth the 450 mile round trip from Cheshire. Love your videos BTW 🙂

A year after watching this video, my Mk3 ST developed a hole in piston #2. So I decided to get my car transported to FJRS to be forged. The service i got from Fred and the team was absolutely amazing it was unbelievable. Well worth the trip from Cambridgeshire.

Exactly this - it can be a very daunting process finding a trustworthy garage - these guys fit the bill 👌🏻

I used to live in Braintree, moved 8 years ago to Lincoln.
Good to see them settling in to new premises and getting a look behind the scenes.

Man. I would pay an extra 10% or even 20% for the car if I knew the exact condition it is at.
Just had my mk3 RS at FJRS for a service/mot and had the brake pipes upgraded (4th May). We travelled all the way from the North East to Braintree for the 2nd year in a row now and I don't trust anyone with my car other than Fred and Jonny 👍
That’s great to hear mate. As crazy as it sounds it makes the trip worth it when you know the car is in safe hands. These boys are the only ones I take my RS to now and that’s how it will stay 👌🏻👌🏻
I’ll be taking mine there soon once the weather improves, got some parts which need fitting 🙂

Brilliant Gary! Thanks for the really useful video. I bought MK3 RS 2 months ago and have booked for a service with FJRS this year. It’s gona be over 3hr drive as I’m coming from Manchester but wouldn’t trust any other garage with my pride and joy. Can’t wait

Great video Gary its really helpful as I’m at FJRS next week for my usual annual service and MOT. I can’t recommend Fred, Jonny and the team enough, absolutely top notch! I wouldn’t go anywhere else either. 👍🏼

Yes mate they’ve done a great job, just what customers are after I think! I had a Mk1 too and wish I still had it alongside my Mk2!

Any jobs too big to do myself I will definitely consider the trip here. Can be stressfull leaving your car at some garages who don't realise what your car means to you.

Yeah I love the look of yours it looks spot on so that’s what I’m aiming for. Thankfully Fjrs can help me achieve that. The cars certainly look great in the video. 👍🏻
Really useful Gary, thanks! I've been to FJRS (or Mountune originally) to get my car serviced for a few years now. It's a bit of a pain that they've moved as it's further from my house but good to get a sneak peak of the new premises before the annual service later this year
Hopefully the bit of extra travel time will be worth it with the facilities they offer and also with the big shopping center nearby if you fancied a walk over there 👍🏻👍🏻
Back in the day Collins used to collect cars , service them or modify them and deliver them back .
In my opinion top end tuners should offer this service still as the car is more than a runabout it’s your dreams so if picking your car up and dropping it off costs a extra £300 based on say 100 miles so what , it’s costing you about £75 to take 2 cars and come back in one and do the same collecting it plus the inconvenience .

Looks like a great place. My new MK3 RS Edition had work done at FJRS and they look to be well trusted. Will try to check them out this year myself 👍

Been to their old premises a couple of times and always got top service, moved a little further out from me but I'll still be using them.

Amazing place and I wish all garages were like this. I’m glad I had a place like this that actually gives a shit about your car. Might be pricy on the labour but the work speaks for itself

What was the the MK1 in for looks box fresh IE Standard exhaust
That’s the resident mk1 lol. It’s a slow burner that’s effectively stored there for the owner but the fettle with it as and when. It’s having a full restoration.
Do you know if they work on Vauxhalls at all? As they are not to far from me as I’m based in Essex as well and have Corsa e VXR.

That's uncanny my mk2 rs has had the same problem last year but haven't got round to it yet.

Ah that’s a shame. Some people are travelling that far and even further to visit them….
It’s a 4 hour 200 mile round trip for me and more than happy to do that and get these guys to look after my garage queen Mk3 RS. They found mine had the dreaded head gasket leak even though it had had the recall. Absolutely top notch repair and even though an expensive job, they dropped me off and picked me up from the railway station when it came to collect it. Already booked in for my MOT and service at the end of the year. They even put a cover on the steering wheel and gearknob to protect it !
You know its in safe hands while they are working on it. But the carpark doesn't look secure at all
All the cars are moved into the workshop out of hours which is all alarmed and linked to the police should it be triggered.
