I just got the plat last week and still went did the extra grind to beat the 999 boss . I can't wait to pick up Rainbow skies. I might do it on the ps4 or if its cross play alil of both....
Hey, Javi! That's great to hear! I worked on the LATAM localization for Rainbow Skies. If you played with a Latin American account in Spanish, you saw my translation :) Was that the case? I'd love to hear what you thought of it if so.
5:00 "Drowning is an interesting experience." Indeed. Excellent idea and video. Really enjoying your content. Thanks for helping me get my mind off my stress for a few minutes.
It tells the Story how the narrator found out about his depression and how he get along with it...this game really helped me, to Talk about my depressions too
What an amazing list! Here's the games I've played from your list: Gundemoniums - A little rough around the edges, but still a good hori bullethell experience. Neurovoider - Also a little rough around the edges, but it does a decent job of staying fun and interesting enough. I've played plenty of better twinstick shooters, but it's not bad. Devious Dungeons 2 - Not a bad game at all, and surprised it made the list. Halloween Forever - This was a pleasant surprise and a great game to play around Halloween. People gave this game a hard time for its graphics for some reason without even bothering to play it. Some great level design can be found here, and lots of fun unlockables. Patobox - Honestly, I'm not a fan of this game. The segments between the boxing events are tedius, the story is weird and boring, and the boxing itself is frustrating beyond belief. Quite the slog. Would much rather play Wade Hixton's Counter-punch on GBA. Habroxia - While this is a good game, there's something missing, and the music left a lot to be desired. Luckily, Habroxia 2 fixed both of those problems and is just an awesome experience. Part 1 is still worth checking out, but 2 is where it's at. Vasara Collection - Pretty much a by-the-numbers arcade bullet hell vertical shooter. Romancing SaGa - This game gave me 16-bit SNES era vibes better than many remakes do, and I'm shocked to see it on the list. It's an EXCELLENT game, probably the best on the list. Here's the ones I'm going to check out thanks to this video: Rainbow Skies - I guess I skipped this because for some reason it reminded me of Bastion, and I wasn't a fan of that game. Super Life of Pixel - When such low effort goes into the main character, you don't expect them to go all-out with the levels and background, but yeah, this looks like it could be cool. Foul Play - A gentleman brawler? Sounds like fun! Shu - Totally flew under my radar. Miles and Kilo - There were a lot of 'boy and his dog' games that came out at the same time. I played Balthazar's Dream and Milo's Quest, but for some reason I didn't get around to this one. Rogue Aces - When I see old airplanes as the cover art, I assume it's a sim and I avoid it. Seeing it in action now, this could be good. Son of Scoregasm - There's already a lot of better-looking alternatives to this game on the Vita which is why I never picked it up. Games I probably still won't check out because they look kinda lame to me: Body Check Lichtspeer Drowning Grasscutter Space Jacked
Thanks for the comment. Glad I could help highlight some games you want to try. I totally agree though, Romancing SaGa 3 is the best game on the list. It’s so crazy it didn’t do better. Of the ones you want to try, I’d go with Foul Play first. It’s such a fun game
Glad to see Pato Box get some attention! The adventure levels between fights are a mixed bag but the fights are exactly what I wanted out of a punch out clone. I actually kickstarted this game and I really dug it. The fights and art style really clicked with me. I need to check out Halloween Forever. That looks pretty cool.
Miles and Kilo is one of the most fun and addictive games I've played in years. I picked it up on Switch last year and now it's on my Vita. Such a shame to see a game like this being ignored. It's the ultimate "one more go" game.
Thank you for making another great list. I know there are many of us out there that love your Vita videos. Edit; so glad you mentioned Gundemonium, Vesara Collection, and Neurovoidet and I have yet to open hybroxia. I have physical versions of them all and would love to compete with someone other then the insane guys in Japan that kill the high scores every time. :)
No problem Reagan. :) Hybroxia is really fun. I got an early copy to review it so the leaderboards weren’t too insane, I’m sure that’s changed by now though!
2 old 4 gaming - I can’t remember what my Sony id is but I’ll look in the morning and leave it for you. It would be fun to pick a game and play each other in the leaderboards. Want to do that? Thanks again for the great videos.
These numbers don't indicate how many people played them overall. The numbers given on gamstat.com specifically refer to how many people are playing the game who have joined the gamstat service, which is a 'friend' you add on PSN and keeps track of your play time. I suppose he numbers may still be indicative of the overall audience proportionally speaking, but they don't actually represent how many people have played the games even slightly. Real numbers would be so much higher.
Nice list, will definitely check some of these games out. It’s a shame because whenever I check the psn store on my vita it never seems to change or get updated.
I know! It’s very annoying. Some games you can’t even search for on the vita store. I have to buy it on my phone and then download it to the vita. I wish Sony had shown it more love
Grasscutter reminds me of a game i used to own/play on my atari 800xl (yes im that old) called hover bover. Very pacman inspired game where you use a mower to cut grass while avoiding the gardner (he comes after you if you cut his flower beds) and a dog
You're not the only one of age, here bro. Binatone TV Master IV Pong, Nintendo G&W Parachute, Amstrad CPC464 & my Atari 520 STFM. Were all my babies, way back when.
I remembered a year ago going to my local GameStop and buying the Vita because they had persona 4 golden on the shelf and from that day I had to collect more games to enjoy and I’m so glad that they still continue making vita games from these nice small indie company’s. Even if Sony dropped support the vita lives on.
Yeah I think so. I was thinking after I put up the video that maybe that number IS the majority of people still playing the vita. I would still pick up the vita version of games as I still like trophies and find it more comfortable to hold than switch
It breaks my heart to see how few people picked up Rainbow Skies, knowing how important it was for the developers to support Vita. I had the honor of working on its LATAM localization, and it'll always have a warm place in my heart. But aside from personal feelings, it's a genuinely great game.
I went into this video with the belief that I had probably played some of these... I was wrong. I played only Rainbow Moon which I loved and bought the limited edition of Rainbow Skies. All of these were fast paced shooters or platformers which I gave up playing when arthritis in my hands got bad. I never played bullet hell games much anyway because I'm terrible at them, but break out Spelunky every now and then for short sessions of platforming. There are tons of wonderful games for the Vita though! I have a great many of them, both physical and digital. I will eventually get Romancing Saga for Switch or Vita but the backlog is real! Thanks for the look at games that someone put in a lot of time and effort into making. I hope your video will encourage more playing of some of them. Thanks!
Yes, a lot of the games are available on other platforms so gamers with systems other than Vita may play these titles there. I have the Gundemoniums cartridge and played it a lot when I received it. It's a good game (also on PS4) that probably won't be ported to other systems. I want to check out some of these games but if they are on Switch, and on sale, I might get them there instead. This is because I can 'switch' between TV and handheld. There is a new game coming that's like Zero escape. PS Vita at 2am's channel did a video about it. It's multiplatform, but I might get that for Vita depending on the play style of the game like if there is touchscreen or rumble features I'm in a strange spot with Vita. I gotta be picky with what I get for it. That's why I watch this channel to see what games are available. Thanks 👍
No problem Marcos. I get it it’s hard to support two systems and Switch does have the advantage of playing on the TV. I still prefer my Vita just because it’s more portable and more comfortable to hold but the switch’s library is getting better and better
LOVE this video! like someone else said, its not the same old recommendations we have all heard time and time again. Most of these are my first time seeing and will check out. THANK YOU
I was able to score a Vita off eBay for $60. It is a little beat up (screen is kinda scratched, thumb sticks are almost worn off) but for the price, I was able to mod it and unearth two generations of Sony handheld games plus PS1. I still think I prefer my 3DS systems but the Vita is a really cool compliment to that system.
The search function on the Vita store is all messed up. You can find it on the web store and then go to your download list and download it on your vita
that's a really creative idea for a video. in some cases it's kind of obvious why the playercount is so low, but there are two things that really surprised me. i bought vasara collection digitally the day it came out and, even though it's a shame that they didn't port the 3d intro and the new mode, it's two very good top down shmups. challenging, but highly recommended and it's a pity they sold so low. miles and kilo however, and i'm sorry if i sound jaded here, looks like ass in my opinion and with 100 players it's even more baffling it got an expensive collectors edition release. completionists will buy the physical, but i can't see many people beeing happy with it (not of the "at least we got something at all" mentality in case that wasn't clear). ;) top video, kudos!
I can understand what you’re saying about Miles and Kilo. I like having physicals for games but I gotta admit these games aren’t expensive, they aren’t long and I wouldn’t replay them so it doesn’t really make sense for me to buy the collection... but I probably will anyway! I do think it’s a shame though when these guys put so much work into porting the game to vita and then it bombed
I'm like, 99% sure that Romancing Saga 3's problem is that it isn't on the Vita's PSN Store, even after they actually got around to updating it for the first time in months recently. I had to buy it from the PC store, and most Vita owners probably didn't even know it had come out, much less where to find it. I don't know if it's even on the PS3's store.
The Vita is like one of my favorite failed/underrated consoles of all Time next to the DreamCast and Sega Saturn but I also like the GameCube a Lot! To bad so Sad that Sony killed it right when they Launched the PS4 because they wanted to Kick Microsoft/Xbox in the Teeth ( which they did!) but they didn’t have to totally abandon the Vita to beat Xbox brand in the Console wars! I Love my PS4 but Sony still could’ve found a way to support the Vita and it should’ve sold more than 16.25 million units! Went to my local GameStop 2 or 3 months ago and only 5 or 6 Vita Games on the shelf and went there 2 or 3 weeks ago and nothing! However in Japan there’s a Cult following and they’re developers still making Vita games plus a slow trickle for North American market but online only!
@@tylerertley5169 would’ve been impossible tbh since it’s open world and the very limited capabilities of the psvita, although they could’ve made a Farcry 1 or 2 equivalent for the Psvita but definitely not 3 and above
@@tylerertley5169 it isn’t open world tho, each area is separated from other maps (what I mean is each map is loaded based on where u are so Sanctuary will only load Sanctuary map and nothing else while Farcry has to load everything since it isn’t seperated) and they even toned down the graphics, FPS isn’t good even so you would need to hack ur vita just to get good 30fps and even 60fps is possbile
Pato Box never got a EU digital release (which also effects Australia, NZ etc) due to the high PEGI rating cost. This would obviously affect the number of players.
Just saw this right now and I'm going to make a few purchases in next couple of days. I hear ya 2OFG, these devs put a lot of effort making these for Vita, and really sad not alot of folks playing it yet. Hopefully that turns around. As for a game to recommend, I finished The Legend of Sky Fish on the Vita and I recommend that game. Its a timing, puzzle, game with very nice graphics.
Vasara collection and super life of pixel ? Those games are brilliant. I got life of pixel back in the ps mobile days and got the new version day one , vasara , just got it , haven't played it much , because it's hard , but it's a great game , kind of reminds me of Airfighters (SonicWings)
I played the ps mobile version too. I didn’t play it much. There were rumours at the time that Sony May add trophies for PSM so I held off from playing and then they discontinued the service instead!
Super Life of Pixel makes me sad. It's such an endearing, earnest game. Really wish I could get a physical copy of it from Play-Asia before the end finally comes.
That’s a great idea! It is a fun game - frustrating too but it’s really sad that the devs had to close up because sales weren’t enough. I might do a video on it in the next few weeks just to shine a bit of a light on it
And number one is of course Persona 4 Golden. Oh wait... wrong list.😅. Good idea to make a list like this. Pato Box has a realky nice art styl. Maybe I'll give it a try. : )
These are a bunch of indie games that have to be phenomenally good for people to play. Are any of the titles reviewed enough to be on Metacritic? Great job finding these though!
For whatever reason, my Vita's store didn't update between the last week of October until just this past week. All the games released since then arent showing up. Did this bug hit you at all?
From the brief scan over that gamstat.com it looks like they track trophies on games. I didn't read much into it but that explains how they would know about it. I have used a PSN trophies site before and based on whoever used their site (to either track or use it as a collection report) would give gamestat.com everyones trophy list. In a nutshell I am assuming that's good it works. Like it says on their site it's not about sales it's about traffic of the games being played. Hey anything is better than nothing. 👍 Always and interesting video to make me go and sit down and purchase some games that I didn't have before thanks to you 2 old 4 gaming. 😁
Yup that makes sense. Some people may hide their trophies so aren’t counted or play without setting up a PSN account but it’s still a very good indication of how many people bought the game especially or digital titles.
@@2old4gaming Especially all of the people that never sync their trophies. What if the game doesn't offer trophies....(that is if I read their explanation right) It's still a great topic and I'm proud you found it. I had heard someone else talking about it but I don't remember where.
Devious Dungeon, yes! I absolutely loved those games, they were simple yet fun. Makes sense as they were literally mobile games before hand. Rainbow Skies is actually a sequel to an even LONGER game, Rainbow Moon. I always gave up on the original because it was so long and required you to max out at Lv. 999. It's that long, hence why I never even bothered to finish it. I wonder if anyone will ever put a version of Pixel Dungeon on any platform. That's my favorite roguelike of all time.
Sorry I'm late, not subbed 😓 but it was in my recommendations, so I'm here. I've got Foul Play and Rogue Aces through PS+ and I'm a little surprised to see them on your list because of that. I haven't tried Foul Play, yet, but I put several hours into Rogue Aces. I keep meaning to get back to Rainbow Moon, also from PS+, but haven't purchased Rainbow Skies; has it ever been deeply discounted? Neurovoider has been on my wishlist for quite some time and I should have bought it by now. If it was Cross-Buy, I definitely would have. I wanted to like Lichtspeer and if it played like CastleStorm I would have loved it. Unfortunately I find it's controls frustrating. The only other game, on your list, that I'm personally interested in is Romancing Saga 3, but I don't have the other 2. Maybe if the trilogy goes on sale, for an attractive price, I'll get them but I doubt it'll happen.
You have made some good videos for the Vita and some compelling reasons to continue to use & play Vita, but there is a reason no one played these games. They simply are not really good games and they are games that could definitely run on my phone..
Gotta agree with you about Devious Dungeon ,both 1 and 2 fun excellent games but imo Goblin Sword , which I believe is from the same devs, is a better game
I can actualy tell that the reason some of these games had such a lower player base is that some of them had a limited region release, or at least, a late on. For instance I am still salty that PatoBox you cant get in the EU! (despite the game being made from a Spanish dev if I remember correctly)
@@2old4gaming Yes, but also there was a problem(if I remember correctly) that when it was release, the PSN Store glitched out and for a month the game would not show in the store page. The only way to reach the page was through a direct link.
2 old 4 gaming thanks I will take a look on psn. I could recommend you 2D platform games: Dokuro, Hotline Miami saga, Mutant Mudds saga, Bloodstained: curse of the moon ( I am still playing after two years cause it’s very simple and addictive). Take care.

that's a really creative idea for a video. in some cases it's kind of obvious why the playercount is so low, but there are two things that really surprised me. i bought vasara collection digitally the day it came out and, even though it's a shame that they didn't port the 3d intro and the new mode, it's two very good top down shmups. challenging, but highly recommended and it's a pity they sold so low. miles and kilo however, and i'm sorry if i sound jaded here, looks like ass in my opinion and with 100 players it's even more baffling it got an expensive collectors edition release. completionists will buy the physical, but i can't see many people beeing happy with it (not of the "at least we got something at all" mentality in case that wasn't clear). ;) top video, kudos!
Definitely going to check out some of these! Have you ever done a list of classic-style turn-based rpgs?
Halloween forever was good, I played it last October. Some of these other ones I picked up on PC already.
Yeah I think that may be a reason some are low because people have played on other systems
ten years later I bought ps vita. this console still rocks and has potential to live.
I wish they made a far cry for vitw
That would be awesome!
2 old 4 gaming yeah fr!!
@@tylerertley5169 would’ve been impossible tbh since it’s open world and the very limited capabilities of the psvita, although they could’ve made a Farcry 1 or 2 equivalent for the Psvita but definitely not 3 and above
@@op-gp they made borderlands
@@tylerertley5169 it isn’t open world tho, each area is separated from other maps (what I mean is each map is loaded based on where u are so Sanctuary will only load Sanctuary map and nothing else while Farcry has to load everything since it isn’t seperated) and they even toned down the graphics, FPS isn’t good even so you would need to hack ur vita just to get good 30fps and even 60fps is possbile
Pato Box never got a EU digital release (which also effects Australia, NZ etc) due to the high PEGI rating cost. This would obviously affect the number of players.
Good point
Just saw this right now and I'm going to make a few purchases in next couple of days. I hear ya 2OFG, these devs put a lot of effort making these for Vita, and really sad not alot of folks playing it yet. Hopefully that turns around. As for a game to recommend, I finished The Legend of Sky Fish on the Vita and I recommend that game. Its a timing, puzzle, game with very nice graphics.
I'll be picking up rogue ace's at some point. It's been on my radar for a wile👍
Lichtspeer reminds me of Bowmasters an awful lot... Never heard of Pato Box but it looks really good!
"Drowning is an interesting experience". That one made me giggle ngl
Great idea, thanks for the ganes! Subscribing :)
Thanks Eric. :)
Great set of games must look them up I'm playing my Switch Lite at the mo but do love my Vita thanks for bringing to our attention.
No worries man. :)
Rogue Aces half the price on the Vita than the Swith Amazing cheers.
Would be nice to see a list of games with the player count divided by the game's age in months.
That’s a good idea! It’s a bit of work but I might mess around and try that
Great video
Neurovoider is fantastic, I have it on Vita and PS4.
Nice list!
Thanks!
Neurovoider is so awesome, mechanics, controls and specially the soundtrack, highly recommend
Georgi S - the Vesara Collection is amazing and there is a physical version available. I actually have one.
@@reagandow850 Sweet :)
Hmm never heard romancing saga before, definitely must try
It’s awesome! If you like old school RPGs then I can’t recommend it enough
Habroxia is great.
Foul Play is one of the best games I’ve played for Vita.
I might do a video on it in the next few weeks just to shine a bit of a light on it
@@2old4gaming did they? That's tragic. I knew they were struggling at some point, but not that they'd shuttered.
Great video 👍👍👍
Thanks dude. :)
I am one of the players of Habroxia, grass cutter, Rainbow Skies and Romancing Saga 3 ☺️
Nice. They’re all great. Especially Romancing Saga 3
@@2old4gaming to me it was an unknown game and I bought it after I saw your review. Now it is one of my favorite rpg’s, so thank you ☺️
And number one is of course Persona 4 Golden.
Oh wait...
wrong list.😅.
Good idea to make a list like this.
Pato Box has a realky nice art styl. Maybe I'll give it a try. : )
Hmmmmm.. I never would even though about a list like this , tks :)
No problem. :)
These are a bunch of indie games that have to be phenomenally good for people to play. Are any of the titles reviewed enough to be on Metacritic? Great job finding these though!
Romancing Saga 3 in Rainbow Skies are both on my wishlist. I was going to get them after i finished the previous ones.
Nice. Both are much much better than their predecessors. If you like them that you’ll love RS3 and Rainbow Skies
For whatever reason, my Vita's store didn't update between the last week of October until just this past week. All the games released since then arent showing up. Did this bug hit you at all?
Yeah it’s very common. It’s not a big though, Sony are just rubbish at updating the Vita store
@@2old4gaming that is beyond frustrating. Thank you for giving me this info, seems no one else on the net speaks about the Vita store's hiccups.
YES this is exactly what i was looking for
Glad I could help 👍
Is Gundemoniums PSTV compatible?
From the brief scan over that gamstat.com it looks like they track trophies on games. I didn't read much into it but that explains how they would know about it. I have used a PSN trophies site before and based on whoever used their site (to either track or use it as a collection report) would give gamestat.com everyones trophy list. In a nutshell I am assuming that's good it works.
Like it says on their site it's not about sales it's about traffic of the games being played. Hey anything is better than nothing. 👍
Always and interesting video to make me go and sit down and purchase some games that I didn't have before thanks to you 2 old 4 gaming. 😁
Yup that makes sense. Some people may hide their trophies so aren’t counted or play without setting up a PSN account but it’s still a very good indication of how many people bought the game especially or digital titles.
@@2old4gaming Especially all of the people that never sync their trophies. What if the game doesn't offer trophies....(that is if I read their explanation right)
It's still a great topic and I'm proud you found it.
Yup I played Rainbow Moon but didn’t finish it either!
I haven’t heard of Pixel Dungeon. I’ll go check it out
@@2old4gaming I'd recommend "Remixed Dungeon" it's the best version I've found so far. Hope you enjoy it as much as I have!
I got the platinum in habroixa & still waiting for varsara collection love a good shooter
I LOOOOOOVE roguelikes, and whilst I enjoyed neurovoider, it didnt suck me in for 100+ hours like boi and nuclear throne.
Ah fair enough. I am a big fan of it. I’ve started it again on my switch after I saw it on sale!
Getting both rainbow games 4 the vita soon!
Nice. Hope you enjoy them
If only sony made the vita with backwards compatibility with ps2 games and put R2 and L2 on it, this device will last for decades.
Totally agree. They should not have bothered with back touch and had R2 and L-2449 instead
Am I the only one who plays/loves a game called "Flame Over"?
That was free on PS Plus a few years ago right? I love Flame Over even though im really bad at it
@@TheAndinator92 I still can't get passed level 3, but I love it - I bought mine, I was a little late to the party, but it was totally worth the buy.
I liked Flame Over too. I didn’t finish it but still thought it was good
You don't buy a vita to play amstrad games or is my thinking worng?
I can actualy tell that the reason some of these games had such a lower player base is that some of them had a limited region release, or at least, a late on. For instance I am still salty that PatoBox you cant get in the EU! (despite the game being made from a Spanish dev if I remember correctly)
That’s a really good point. I think that’s also the case for Halloween forever
@@2old4gaming Yes, but also there was a problem(if I remember correctly) that when it was release, the PSN Store glitched out and for a month the game would not show in the store page. The only way to reach the page was through a direct link.
I have played rogue aces but not on the vita. The game is REALLY FUN TO PLAY
It’s a really good game. It was actually developed first for Vita so it runs equally well compared to other platforms
Yes my friend drowning is a unique experience. Have you tried it ?
I have Gundemonium on my VIta right now
Nice!
I got interest in the last game of the list. Never came out or something because I didn’t recognize. Also what is its name? It looks very good.
The last game was Miles and Kilo. It came out last year. It’s fun
2 old 4 gaming thanks I will take a look on psn. I could recommend you 2D platform games: Dokuro, Hotline Miami saga, Mutant Mudds saga, Bloodstained: curse of the moon ( I am still playing after two years cause it’s very simple and addictive). Take care.
Good picks! Thanks
I think it would've been better if it didn't have a camera thing, and put something else
I can attest Foul play is excellent. A must try!
I'm surprised devious dungeon 2 is in the list, I loved both them games
Yeah me too
@@2old4gaming I guess we won't be getting a 3rd but as it was cross buy it might of done better on the PS4
Well Ratalaika’s games don’t sell massively on vita anyway but they still put them out. Hopefully that will continue for a long time
Miles and kilo only 100 wow that explains why the percentage of the Platinum was so high but so hard to get lol ...that wasn't an easy one
Yeah it’s a tough one. I found some of the levels quite frustrating
@@2old4gaming well I'm glad to know I was one of the 100 thanks for the info.. glad I got the plat and we all look forward to your future videos on vita
Boom 💥 they collide together The brand new PS switch😂
I must only like games people don’t like to play because I own and played everyone of these games
Where is Kobe sir?
Ninja Usagimaru.
Hopefully those games have been played by enso players therefore not shown on the stats.
That doesn’t help the devs dude.
All the sidescrollers deserved to have low user bases
They should have stopped being made once handhelds had enough power to make proper games.
i think these are a little too unknown, how about you try the under 10.000 sales.
Minecraft a casual game, the Vita a hardcore players system
Trails of Cold Steel 4 sir
Romancing SaGa 3👍🏾
Such an amazing game
Hotline Miami is unbarebly underrated! ! Play it reply back when you can confirming the hype and you wont regret it!!
I love Hotline Miami but I don’t think it’s under rated. It’s really popular and well reviewed
@@2old4gaming i know! I referenced the game and my friend knew about it ! 😅 where have i been?! I picked up a prestine Neon Orange Vita recently in addition to my regular oled vita and its amazing!! I finished hotline and cant recommend it enough! Hopefully soon i can pick up an aqua blue vita the matte finish is very appreciated ... i hate smudges 😄
