In today's video I wanted to share with you three different happiness practices for the coming winter months. If you're like me, when the darker days begin to set in, it can be a real drain on my joy. So today I wanted to combat that by preparing my home with some simple herbal magick practices that you can do too! I hope you enjoy

I live in New England and I LOVE winters here (I realize this is not a popular view) but the stillness, the chill, walking in the forest after a fresh snowfall and feeding the birds...I especially love when we get a big storm; its exciting and wild. It's just so beautiful. I'm lucky to have a cozy wood stove, pots of tea, purring kitties and good books to read during the darkness.
Honestly if I lived in the middle of the woods I wouldn't mind it as much. Clearing snow would be a pain, but the silence...ugh I miss it
@@thatonedog819 I'm fortunate to live in the woods and the beauty of winter is worth any hassle it brings. We have a lot of wildlife that is such a gift to watch.

The one characteristic about you is the consistency with which you practice witchcraft. Herbs are always your focus. And I honestly can say there’s absolutely no one quite like you in all of RUclips.
And most of what you know about herbs (you wrote an amazing book on herbs-Herbal Magick-folks, you need to get it-an instant classic), by your own account, is self-taught. I watched a video from three years ago done by the Witch of Wanderlust and, at your core, you are that very youthful, wholesome, intuitive witch of today.

It’s kinda of ironic that you speak of this time of the year as surviving. For me, in great part due to the part of the country where I live (Texas), this is by far my favorite time of the year. My plants have just survived an unforgiving summer. I welcome the cool/cold weather. I thrive on it. Of course, I’ve never in my life have had to endure a truly cold winter as you have. I wish the most frightfully wondrous Halloween.
I just started on my path this summer. So I am definitely a beginner. I came apon your videos & just love your message. Simply the sound of your voice makes your videos so enjoyable. Ive deticated Wednesday afternoons as my time to practice my craft. Ive never been a reader, but was so excited for your book. Its the first book I've bought as an adult, if you can believe that, & I'm 39! So now I can incorporate reading your book on my Wednesdays as well. I actually miss the long dark winters of New England now that I live a bit more south, and I wish I could conjure myself some ice and snow, but instead happiness seems like an even better option, and since just watching this video made me quite happy, I'm sure all the recipes will work a treat. I make a lavender salve using lavender oil I also make, and it's so cozy. I call it my bedtime balm. One batch turned out much more liquidy than I wanted (not enough beeswax). I wasn't really sure what to do with it, but maybe I will use it to anoint my doorways. Thanks for the idea!

I would just sit there with my face in that giant jar of lavender and just huff for hours. Or until i napped.

How much can ethnicity affect a particular herb? I ask because the thistle is the national flower of scotland. I'm english with some welch attachments. both groups which have had issues with scottland, this sort of thing wsasn't in your book but i've had encounters with spirits where it made a difference.
If you're worried about it, you could always use a species of thistle native to England and/or Wales instead of the thistle associated with the national symbol of Scotland.
