- In today's video I would like to tell you about my experience with the Triumph Street Triple 765 RS.
I will tell you if I had any troubles with it in the last 15 months, what modifications I made to this bike, whether I would recommend it to others and whether I would buy it again.
The best bike ever.
2018 Speed triple 1050R even better goes like a rocket. 🚀
Speed Triple is a completely different league bike, probably best in its own class, same as ST RS in the middle weight category 😉👍
@darekz9777 too be fair all truimph triples are brilliant.
Yes they're 😉👍
@allanfoster5418 that's in the class of super duke , bmw s100, streetfighter v4 and aprilia tuono. It is not top in its class.
Street triple is a more nimble high corner speed bike
Great overview and a nice ride round the outskirts of Dublin. Intrigued by your accent sounded a bit like Swedish with a strong lashing of the Irish brogue. Thanks for doing and posting.
Thank you.
definitely eastern european, not swedish
@celzolsen8988 🤣🤣🤣
Light, nimble, can potter along through town traffic or rip down the twisties. Throttle is so smooth.
So strange seeing a random video going through my hometown of Celbridge
Great place to ride a motorcycle 👍
I never had a Street Triple before. So, for my first one, I bought the Moto2 Edition in Racing Yellow. I've got 3 other Triumphs in the garage and one in the living room 😂 which is the Daytona 765 Moto2. I love the Street Moto2. I've also added Evotech accessories, same as you. Got the Triumph scrolling indicators. CarbonFBR pieces, heel guards and hugger for the rear tire and lower chain guard. Great bike! Japanese bikes are always, for the most part, cheaper than the European counterparts. Good video here.
You mentioned the MT. Stunning bike both the 09 and 10. I nearly night the MT10, but, after many years of bikes I wanted something different/unique/exotic. The SF build quality and finish is incredible. The engine far too much on the road, I’ll never use to full potential, but I love it. The MT lacked a bit of class for the price. I really like the speed limiter option and the cruise control which the SF doesn’t have :(
Also there are so many MTs on the road.
The street triple was more unique naked. I’d say she is nuts on track.
great video, love the bike. best bike i ever had
I totally agree, looks amazing
Definitely better looking than any adventure bike
This bike is amazing. Best middleweight naked by a mile. Only thing I can complain about it is the initial torque which is a little whimpy but frankly is something only relevant on low speed manuvers. This is very much made up for by the amazing handling on this bike.
No low torque ? Compared to what ?
@@PrivatePrivate-sw2qk mt09 for example
Would I ever want more than my Z650 after all the engine tuning it would be this or a Monster 937. No 270 crank parallel twin for me. Technically they don't make sense. Get a true V2 if you want the V2 sound.
@JagoTFC test ride it if you can. I recommend leaving you creditcard at home though cause you will buy one afterwards. This is what happend to me and I wasn't even planning on buying it. It was that good.
Agree re gearing. SF never needs 5th or 6th unless top speed or on motorway just to save fuel in lower rpm
My wife loves this bike. Looking to buy. Nice and light which is what she wants. Perhaps next year. Funny to hear the mixed dub accent, my wife is Slovak and has similar 😅 (Ireland here too 🇮🇪)
I’ve the SFV4s grey nero. Also bought new in the same dealer.
Sfv4 On another level 😂 mad bike, of course I’m poor now.
On touring , no idea on the street triple. On the SF, no issue with wind, no vortex created. Any shielded bike I’ve been on creates vortex around helmet , head feels like coming off. The SF very linear wind blast. Of course at 240+ it’s windy, but, just tuck. Also you’re not going to do that speed for more than a few seconds 🤷♂️ obviously not a pillion bike at all. One up only. I’ve Kreiga tank bag (30l) no problem for Europe trip. Have to pull over every 1.5hiurs (160km or so) to fuel anyhow so that breaks things up.
Doin a service / oil & filter ever year only doing 1,800 kms according to experts is not recomended..
You can skip a year Oils today are very superior.
However regular cleaning & maintanence, checks, loobing the chain little & often, tyre checks every day for screws or nails etc. is a good thing folks.
Great video 👍
I'm thinking of getting the ST765R for the daily commutes and rides
Don't think, just buy one 😉, it's an amazing bike.
I can guarantee, you won't regret it 👌
lovely video with a lovely chap (though bike vid needs some high rev part too ! :). why not take it to work too, esp good weather. how tal//inseam are you. if youd sell this what would you buy instead? maybe something faired but comfortable/upright? maybe a 300-500cc? what do you think of a good looking cheap re for the slow weekend non rev happy putter weekend lone ride.
Thank you.
I'm 181cm tall with 32 inseam.
If I sell it I'll buy something big for 2 people touring. I've decided that I want to ride distance and see places 😉.
I've tested pretty much every single bike on the market, and I have few favorites, but there is not one perfect bike, every one had some good and weak points.
So keep watching my channel and soon or later you will find out what bike will be replaced by my lovely ST 765RS. 👍
@@darekz9777 ooh suspendse, awesome haha. i found triples rs too sporty despite handle bar & needs rev. unfortunately the missus doesn't like to be an uncomfortable bike pillion. looking forward to see it. give lower cc a chance . triumph 400, 650 twins re. or something faired from the youth days
Triumph Street Triple 765RS, it's a lovely fun bike, but it's a solo riding bike, not for the 2 people.
It's a sport naked bike, so the riding position is quite sporty, it's perfect for the younger person, but when you are 50+, it could be challenging 😂.
Still, probably the best handling bike ever had over my 33 years riding experience.
If you never tried it or owned it highly recommend it 👌👍.
I think it's amazing that you can stay behind a car so slowly, are there many speed cameras ??
Yes, there are a good few speed cameras, but most of them I know where there are 😉
Great video, can you tell me which way you mounted your Garmin XT? Cheers
Thank you. I don't use Garmin, I have Evotech/Quadlock phone mount fitted into central handlebar clamp, and use with my mobile phone.
Only thing I’d change on the Street triple is the tires that come stock, if I’m correct when in the dealer I saw Pirelli Supercorsa SP ? That’s fairly track oriented tire.. I know it’s the road legal version but still fairly slick.
The SF comes with Corsa 2s which is more a mix, best tires I’ve had on a bike so far. So much confidence. Unsure about kms it can achieve, time will tell.
Yes, correct. The stock tires are great on track or on sunny days, very sticky and confident inspired, but when it's wet or cold they're rubbish. Also they do not last long.
To me the Metzeler M9 RR are the perfect tires for this sporty bike. They're incredibly neutral and stable in the corner. Excellent dry & wet grip from the first corner. You just don't have to think about your tires
Yes, the Metzeler M7 RR, M9 RR are great tires, I can also recommend Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV.
@@darekz9777 any experience with Pirelli gt or gt2?
@markholmes5695 Unfortunately I don't have any experience with those tires, but maybe someone will give you some feedback about those tires.
yea lol gotta keep those revs down speed cameras everywhere now
I loved my street triple till it betrayed me. The dash died and with it, the immobiliser, and ecu. Bike couldn’t start at all. I had to scrap it or otherwise pay a ransom. That would be my last Triumph.
I heard that in the past ST suffered some problems with the dash( the water or moisture goes inside it and costs the problems, apparently Triumph fixed that problem), also I heard about some engine issues, with few cases where the engine blew up.
So far I could be lucky, but I didn't have any single problem with it.
Oh right. Go buy a KTM then 😂 You do know the dash can be replaced, so no you don’t have to scrap it, but you seem to be a bit of a drama queen so go ahead. The dash, ecu and immobiliser almost certainty didn’t die all at the same time. If it’s Triumphs fault, they may offer some goodwill. Good luck.
@@douglasalexander4348other bikes are available.
Would be nice if you said which bike it is, rather than just 'this bike' .
Hello Derek, I sent you an email if you want to see it and answer me. Thank you in advance
Sorry, but I didn't get your email. To what email address did you send it to?
You are right about MT09 SP, but one reason I woudn't buy this bike. It's simply ugly. The front looks so cheap.
Few days ago I was on the trackday and my spot was close to MT09 SP. The difference in the look of these two motorcycles, just enormous, even owner admited that.
The look of the ST 765 RS and MT09 SP is subjective to every individual person. Both of them bikes are priced the same money, but in my eyes the new 2024 MT09 SP, presents slightly better value.
The bottom line is that both those bikes are very good motorbikes, regardless of your choice.
Looks are subjective and to be honest I didn't like it at first. But to call it cheap is untrue.
The Decepticon styling Yamaha has decided on for their MTs leave the bikes with a face only a mother can love. It’s a bit of a shame because the first gen is what piqued my interest in riding to begin with, but now I’m to a point where I couldn’t care less about how ugly a bike is.
What a load of BS. Your egos out of control😂 Owners of MT 09s think their bikes are great looking and that the STR are ugly with their stupid bug eye headlights on stalks. The MT09 also has a gruntier and more engaging engine, one of the best I’ve ever used. I own a STR, and also have a Tracer MT09 bought 7 years ago. The Triumphs quality isn’t better, the plastics are actually flimsier on the STR. The STR is ALSO a brilliant bike to ride and own.
@@douglasalexander4348 so far I haven't met single person who likes new style of Yamaha nakeds. Some of ppl I know think it's ugly and rest of them it's controversial, not pretty for sure
You talk a lot of age so how old are you? :)
In my head I'm still young, but my body disagrees 😉🤣
@@darekz9777Yup, with on that one.
