    I am a value investor, searching for undervalued stocks. I look for securities with prices that are unjustifiably low based on intrinsic worth, estimated by analyzing an issuer's fundamentals.
    I do not support the efficient market hypothesis. This suggests that stocks always trade at their fair value, making it harder for investors to either buy stocks that are undervalued, or sell them at inflated prices. I believe the market will eventually favor quality stocks that were undervalued. I am not really concerned with the activities of the stock market, although I "watch" market activity all the time.

    actually the Equinor slashed their dividend, will be ended extrodinary dividend in 2024, only 0.02 cents growth dividend in following years~, standard dividend will become 0.35 cents, conclude total dividend return be 5%~~that's why the stock price plummeted~

      But if they end the dividend, the stock price can actually start going up instead of being "flat" like till now. So they can still perform well.

    Rudi, thanks for the review on Equinor. I, too, am seeing a cut in the dividend to 5%. Also, EQNR closed a refinery in Norway after a fire.

      Mike, I wouldn't make this swap. $EQNR actually cut their juicy dividend just now!

    Bester, is this the second time you'll be scared out of $pbr?

    • @BesterInvestor
      @BesterInvestor  5 месяцев назад +2

      Always stay vigilant 🤣. I am more scared of Lula than Petrobras. Unfortunately it's a 2-for-1 deal with Lula as the unpredictable bonus round. I have not sold PBR.A (yet).

    Ironically I think that the only way on which renewables can be profitable is by being used for powering the oil extraction and refining machines when the weather is favorable which would save a lot of money for the respective company by no longer needing to burn their own produce or be vulnerable to the overall power demands. And when the weather is no longer good, the saved oil barrels can serve as a energy store until the renewables start being useful again.

    I have PBR in my fun money account and my Roth @ around $10. I've seen conflicting reports on the dividend situation. Until I get the straight up feel that it's going to be dead money going forward, I'll hang on to it. When the dividends collected have already paid back a good chunk of the costs it's easy to take the wait and see attitude. 🤷‍♂

      Yeah, it's also worth calculating the dividend percentage as dollar value vs. cost basis. Like my comments about OXY's current dividend from time to time - not a bad dividend if your cost basis is $10. Less good if your cost basis is more like Buffet's 😂
