I am a value investor, searching for undervalued stocks. I look for securities with prices that are unjustifiably low based on intrinsic worth, estimated by analyzing an issuer's fundamentals.
I do not support the efficient market hypothesis. This suggests that stocks always trade at their fair value, making it harder for investors to either buy stocks that are undervalued, or sell them at inflated prices. I believe the market will eventually favor quality stocks that were undervalued. I am not really concerned with the activities of the stock market, although I "watch" market activity all the time.

Do you know how much of ARLP business is based on coal exports to other countries?
In 2023, approx. 80.9% of tons sold were purchased by domestic electric utilities, 15.7% were sold into international markets, and 3.4% were sold to domestic industrial customers (ARLP website)
@@BesterInvestor What do you think the future holds for ARLP if they export such a small percentage of the coal they produce? Natural gas in the US is very cheap
Coal provides about 20% of U.S. electricity today, so the market is still huge. But, they could also export more e.g. to India & China, if required. But they also reported revenue of ~$650 million from oil and gas royalties, and ~$27 million in bitcoin (mining & token assets generated).
@@BesterInvestor I wander what it would take for ARLP to significantly increase exports to foreign markets?
I guess a dramatic downturn in U.S. demand might be the biggest threat. Politicians (US dems) have been threatening to shut down coal plants for years, but they're still producing making decent profit.
arlp a good one- just still not getting enough bites of these at their lows… did you explore that they are starting to do some btc mining at plants? not seeing much commentary on that anywhere
Yeah, maybe I should cover that in another video?
How significant is Citi's agreement with Colonial? Is it a sign that a bid is near? Would Citi sign such a deal if it wasn't?
@constantine, it's significant because Citibank is a major player in the investment banking space, incl met coal, and Colonial is potentially a very small deal (for Citi). I'm not sure a deal is near because we'll only know if they tell us, or if e.g. trading is suddenly halted. David (CEO) is probably quite frustrated by now, but investors have been patiently waiting. Are you long Colonial?
@@BesterInvestor yes, l have a long position. I'm quite optimistic a bid will come in before q4.
Best of success (to us) 😁
Thx Rudy! Miss u.
I own this and ET, but wouldn't mind expanding my MLP exposure into the future. I ended up selling all of my Alas Energy position and putting it into DVN. I missed its $40 bottom but the profits on Alas beforehand wasn't bad either. Hydroelectric is something I'll have to look into.
Best of success with $DVN, it's taking the long road back to the top!
👍.
