You recognize that this man will be forever remembered as one of the best guitar players EVER.
Not hardly
Don't be silly
I come, not for the pedals. I come for Andy's free concerts.
Hey thanks for watching! 😄👊
@@AndyDemos: We all love you, more than you know;)
@@AndyDemos Been watching you over a decade now. Back in the dayzz
@@mr.yellowstrat3352 Really appreciate the support! I’m very lucky to still be making these demos ✌️❤️
indeed!! I love to watch him!
If I could have the honor of meeting ANY current living guitarist it would be Andy.
I love your playing man!
Andy came into my work w/ his lady friend a couple years ago. Nicest guy, super humble and appreciated my saying that I loved his demos. No ego at all, friendly, really great guy
I met him at NAMM and he is such a nice guy and it was such an honor meeting him!
Andy is such a riff machine and I love it so much
Andy once again blows the video competition of a new pedal demo out of the water. 😁👍
he makes it look easy, but andy has a gift for changing his playing style to wring the most out of all these different pedals, especially distortions which other demos tend to render samey
A rare instance that I actually bought this before watching you demo it. Damn i cant wait to get this
One of my favourite tones and jams from Andy. Thank you!
So glad to see this classic back in circulation. And with all new features. Sick 🤙🏼🎸
Absolutely fucking NAILING it Andy! Gold.
Thanks so much, it was such a fun pedal!
That boosted tone at 05:04 is fantastic!
I love this guy. Love the song choices and we can really get a feel for what the pedals do when he demos them. Good job!
I bought this two days ago, and I love it both on guitar and--especially--on bass. This video, like all of Andy's vids, shows the pedal off very well. I bought it because I wanted something for times when I want a sound that's a little dirty but still preserves a lot of the clean sound of the guitar or bass. I already have pedals for higher gain conditions. This pedal is the perfect thing for those lower-gain applications. And it'll also put extra hair on your tone if you use it to drive another overdrive. I like it in front of my OCD, for instance.
Andy is my go to for any pedal demos.
the opening song is awesome !
I'm a simple man, I see this dude demoing anything- I click
Andy's guitar playing could rip a man's heart out of his chest and show it to him before he dies!
Just Our Andy havin fun. 🔥🔥
Nice job Earthquaker Devices. Now do this trick with the Arrows and Bows
I love the Black Pyramid feeling in the intro !
I've got it !!! I LOVE THIS PEDAL ❤❤❤❤❤
He is still the man.. but there was more magic with PGSDs.. he still remains one of my ultimate influences.. dude is so good!!
Yep, I'm buying one. Where has this been for all of my life?
at 99 bucks it would be rude not to let’s face it
That's your best opening.
More $100 EQD pedals, please.
Yes!!!!
Andy could sell water to the ocean
Watch almost all demos of this pedal and don't like it at all, but after Andy demo I want to buy it right now
This guy can make a Metal Zone a must-have for a pedalboard
He knows how to dial in the sounds. He answers the question “can it sound good “.
I got suckered in with 2 pedals that way. He got amazing sounds out of a tc electronic dirt pedal and some univibe copy and they sounded like crap from me. Andy is a wizard.
Psychosomatic anyone?
It's a neat pedal. Sounds great on bass!
Andy even plays the bass with his thumb, now that’s commitment to a technique
Damn Andy rocks
I don't have a need for this pedal but EarthQuaker products are typically very good.
I ordered one before I finished watching the demo. Never do that! I love the original but always want to boost it. No brainer at $99.
Nabbed one. Love u Andy!
Andy, is that Ibanez Bass yours? Those are great instruments. I have enjoyed your demo's for years. Thank you.
If I hadn't just bought the plumes I would have gone for this
Killer pedal, but more importantly, Andy is too damn good
this could well be the first EQD pedal I buy (or perhaps the Afterneath...)
Got one
80's retro vibe all round on the opening
sweet Vantage VE-545 Entertainer, don't see many around and even less in that condition and is that a Blazer bass? Not a Roadstar as they didn't have the swosh on the headstock.
Thanks! Yes, just got that '83 Entertainer on Reverb and it's an '81 Blazer bass which has unexpectedly turned into my go-to for songwriting.
6:04 Andy genius moment!
Andy is a guitar god
I agree 👍 would love to see him in a band context
What is that Vantage guitar at the beginning of the video? Are they still made by Matsumoko in Japan?
This pedal just replaced my broadcast … and I never thought that would happen
I’m thinking of getting one to pair with mine, to stack with and tame some high end of the broadcast, thoughts?
This is an especially handsome pedal.
Where do you put this in your signal chain with fuzzes?
Is that opening tune an original? It reminds me of Midnight Oil in their early 80s prime, but I'm pretty sure it's not one of their songs. Anyone know??
What’s the song Andy plays at the beginning?
How about the Special Cranker stacked with Plumes?
shout out to Matsumoku guitar company and those lovely mmk45 ubc pickups R.I.P. 51-87
Where did you find that amazing Vantage???
Why Reverb of course! ;)
"What guitarist did you look up to?" 1960: hendrix, clapton, page etc. 2020: Andy
Haha yes!
Hendrix is my idol but for current guitarist it's Andy hands down. I don't ever feel jealous with his amazing playing, I just always appreciate and enjoy the mastery.
Anyone know what exactly the difference is between this and the Plumes?
Plumes is a screamer circuit. This is more of an analog distortion. Sounds like heavy gain/ distortion from tube breakup, and also doesn’t color tone like a screamer circuit.
I play bass and I’m thinking about swapping out my plumes for this.
Killer
Is that a Vantage?!
came for the pedal, stayed for the meteora
Which amp was used for this?
65 Amps Soho
What song is this!!?
This one of those sound best at edge of break up pedals pretty much?
This pedal sounds great throughout its range.
What is the red f hole guitar he’s playing?
Earthquakes need to put their fuzz soul on the PCB
Anything by EQD is worth buying
yeah....... right
that intro jam was like if the JHS Liveshow crew were really good at rollerblading
Underrated comment right here
@@anthonysablan8650 thank you kindly
Is this overdrive suitable for bass guitar too?
Absolutely! Other demos ran drums, synth, and even harp into it.
WHat ibanez model is that?
Vantage!
Watch the intro at 2x. Hella punk.
🤣 Speed punk!
Is this a bluesdriver type circuit?
What's the first song?
I wrote it for the demo, I was listening to Idles at the time ;)
@@AndyDemos Do you write for every demo? That's sick
@@cuscoothriyas5163 Unless there's a cover I can't refuse! Thanks :)
It has some jesus lizard hooks in it
That's a good thing !
Does anyone know what's going on with his picking technique? It looks like he's playing with a pick, but he switches to his finger a lot too. I don't think I've seen anyone play like that before.
Here's a video of Andy explaining it:
ruclips.net/video/sf24m4xF-Ro/видео.html
Thanks! Much appreciated.
Brian Setzer also does this, uses a pick, and alternates fluidly to finger picking a lot.
Is this a Coloursound Power Boost type circuit?
They behave similarly but this is a single transistor with diode clipping and a Power Boost uses 3 transistors and no clipping. There are other bits but that's the gist!
I believe it’s based on a Electra Distortion circuit
Electra hard clipper circuit, you can build one on a mini soldererable breadboard. Simple circuit but many ways to easily mod it. I always figured a single JFET stage after the Electra circuit would be a cool mod. I wonder if they did that here.
forget the pedals and other gear he demos, Andy is a modern player's player with unsurpassed music knowledge. I think I've watched every one of his demos...LOL
Like angels pissing on my ear 👂
Does this pedal switch pop like the plumes? If so no thank you
I have this and the plumes. Neither one pops.
??? How would ya'll say this pedal differs from say the BD2 boss blues driver
The short answer is they sound completely different.
So this is a fuzz-OD or an OD-fuzz? It sounds enough like a fuzz and the toggle switch is for fuzz type circuits, but also has some OD tonal qualities. I think it sounds great, but it's not the sound I'm going for personally. FYI - I rarely use fuzz and only own a Fulltone Octafuzz for that Jimi Octavia thing on recordings.

1980s guitars!
I like the Pedal gut i do Not like the Colour Scheme
If you could choose, what color scheme would you like?
Here goes another 2 bills.
First for a change, nice.
If you’re not first, you’re last.
Cool graphics and sound, as expected! The name however...
Andy can sell soil to a farmer.
Meh -
pretty boring offering from EQD.
Greer Special Request does the same thing better, just saying
They're both Special in their own ways. Greer's is going after the FET input stage in some Dumble amps while EQD is inspired by the Electra Distortion. So, I hear more amp-style compression and hard clipping in the EQD while my old demo of the Greer has the Deluxe Reverb staying very sparkly even with a Les Paul and the boost cranked. Different strokes!
@@AndyDemos Dang Andy that wasn't a bad pun! Fair enough, although I feel like the EQD pedal is more of an average overdrive than a "touch responsive preamp" type pedal. The Special Request has that really nice natural compression that it adds to any amp, and when you put it in front of an amp that cranks you get a really nice thick sound for chords that doesn't overpower the sound of the amp itself. Like you said, the Special Cranker has a lot more in-box clipping and sustain which tends to color the sound of an amplifier a lot more. I think they should just market the Special Cranker as a good OD without all the gear buzzwords like "transparent overdrive", because it doesn't sound like its really in that same vein to me.
For people who spend more money on pedals than guitars and amps
Personally, and it's all very personal, I don't touch anything with an octopus on it 😭😭😭🪡
I love octopi and used to have a policy of never eating them or harming them. Then... I tried one in a restaurant and my policy was over ! 😮
