Loved this video! The sweet potato bread looks sooo good! I haven't tried pineapple buns, but I'd love too. Would love to come across Asian vegan bakeries where I'm at. It's quite amazing to see the world through your lens in Shanghai and Songjiang. :'D
Yay! Glad you enjoyed it :) Finally can show how cool the vegan scene is out here. I honestly do wish we had more in-store bakeries though, pretty much all of the vegans have to buy their baked goods/treats online, but there are a handful of places you can go with a few options.
Omg I coincidentally saw you on Asian boss and today randomly was looking for vegan tips in China and found you again! Small you tube world. Didn’t know you were vegan cool!!!!
I LOVEEE U I have started mandarin (and linguistics at uni) I am mixed (black and white) and obviously have a docent hair type - Afro! So this is relatable, thankyou for sharing your experience !!! This helps me a lot
I personally would have called ahead to see if they were open. I live right outside NYC so that would be like me hunting down a vegan bakery outside of Philly without knowing if they were open🤣. Still loved vicariously traveling with you! 🛍🍰
I love to live on the wild side 😂. But yea I always think there is a set time for most places but with a lot of vegan places you really should call ahead, just in case. Glad you enjoyed my travels!!
Hey there, this vlog was pretty interesting. The sweets looked very good. The journey you took was like going from the North Bronx to Long Island lol. That's definitely a dedicated journey. Your chinese sounded perfect to me- I don't speak it so anything would have sounded perfect even if say your grammar was off lol! The pineapple bread reminded me of the mexican sweet bread- Conchas! Very similar! And I understand that the cream on the cheesecake was most likely coconut based, so what was the cheese cake made of? Would you order it again? I really wanna see some of your other content and learn more about your experience in China.
Thanks! Yea, this was a long journey I don't typically do just for some bread. Yea I've been speaking Chinese for a minute, I didn't say anything super complicated here though :). I'll need to look up conchas--but pineapple desserts are so popular here so I was so sad I could never find vegans versions so glad they sell the bread at least. The cheesecake was just made of nuts, and I am guessing cashews-- though they make a lot of their desserts with coconut and almond flour if I remember correctly. I don't know if I would order it again; it's not really much like the more western version, but I guess it's okay if you just need to get a fix. I am not a super huge dessert person tbh. I will definitely be posting more about my experiences living here in China! I've been here a while so I have a lot to say.
Hahah! Yea, it was a security guard person. I was like um wut?? I've only had this happen a few times, and it always catches me off guard. Some guys will be like "African women are so beautiful"! Or make comments about foreign women in general... glad the plastic wasn't too annoying. When I was filming it I was like URG this is so loud.
@@thisischaniece LOL about the guys. I seriously fall asleep to RUclips ASMR videos (crinkling and tapping). Fam thinks it's weird. but hey, it's super relaxing!!! Enjoy the ASMR Bakery channel the most etc. LOL
Thanks for sharing your experiences eating vegan in China. Your dogs are so cute. Ni de gou hen keai! Were you able to bring your dogs into China or did they originate from there?
Thank you :)) It's not that bad! I should actually do a video about it but I am so overwhelmed at how to organize it. Shanghai is definitely the city to come to if you are vegan and want western vegan cuisine (pizza, cake, lasagna, tacos, etc). There are also over 100 Chinese vegetarian restaurants in Shanghai, which have a lot of default vegan items!
@@thisischaniece please do a video of it 🙏🏽I’m vegan & studying Mandarin because I would like to get a scholarship to study out there & initially I wanted to study in a small city but I’m assuming that’s going to make being vegan harder so I don’t know what big city is best to keep my on

Hi Something I have been in search for quite sometime is a connection with somebody that goes beyond vanity. It's very hard to do in this day and age. People can be, somewhat very superficial. On my quest to achieve this I have learnt a lot about human nature. It seems to me that those who are not given traits such as beauty or being wealthy are some of the nicest, kindest and generous people. While the "gorgeous" and well off seem to be the most arrogant and greedy people out there. Of course that's not to say there aren't beautiful kind people out there. I've been in the process of change for a while now and I have made some decent changes but don't you just hate it when people can't let go of your past mistakes. I saw your profile and it intrigued me. I wanted to learn more about who you are and what type of path you would like on in life. Can we talk?
@@ctynwbraygalm you honestly only need to worry about tickets and all that in the city center, not all the way out in Songjiang 😂😭--I didn't even see any traffic police out there

Thank you! I definitely need to start checking out some of these far out districts more, they are pretty cool.
A bakery like that needs a dedicated fan base to be a viable business. So pls spread the word.
