@kennethreynolds8 not OP but i have a 2023 klr 650s new and just hit about 2500 miles. It's fine at the 75 to 80mph range. I'd say you could ride all day at that speed just check your oil and depending on your riding switching to a 16 tooth front sprocket helps out the top end I hear. I'm mostly a city rider and need to do 80 to keep up with freeway traffic. Bit buzzy but never scary. Out of town long distance I pick a lane a cruise at about 70 with almost no buzz. Using almost stock everything and the dampeners in the handlebar and footpeg are noticeable. Plan to add bar riser, higher windshield, try the 16 tooth, crash bars, and pannier bags. Right bow I do have a milk crate ziptied to the back plate 😂
Iv got just under 6k miles on mine now and I absolutely love it... I have the adventure model non abs... One of my favorite things I have ever owned.. best all around bike iv ever had.. it's perfect for me.. I love everything about it..
I bought one of these in the same colour. Do you know where you can buy a center stand that fits this bike? I bought an adjustable one for regular KLR’s but it is too tall.
What I dont like about kawasaki is that they boast about having shorter seats as if it was something good. Do they think whe are all midgets? Who is going to make a motorcycle for normal height men? (6 feet+)
Im 6ft as well but tall guys cam ride short bikes ive seen tall guys on honda groms but short folk cannot ride tall bikes as its unsafe. Id say the klr 650 needed to be shortened as it could barely flat foot it and the average height in the US for men is 5 ft 9 in
I'm 5'11" and ride a KLR. I can just get both balls of my feet on the ground at max suspension height and flat. Flat foot I can get one foot flat, the KLR isn't a short bike, especially considering ADV bikes typically have shorter seat heights because the increased weight and off-road riding
I just bought one also. The ability to go off road...a jeep with 2 wheels. And load it up with camp supplies.
How’s it feel at 75-80 mph? Is it as buzzy as the other ones?
@@dad3562that’s my question also.

Check your valves early because I promise your exhaust valves will be out of spec.
@@Texan_American what do you call early?
I pick up a 2022 adventure tomarrow...under 2000 miles...have you done the thermo-bob yet..?
@@chrisdarling-tl2lswhat’s a thermal bob?
Thermostat bypass to keep cylinder head at a more constant temperature, ( especially in colder weather)
Love mine. Get out get one and get riding.
I actually just got new pegs and lowering brackets for an on my 650 so it's a bit easier to get my foot under the shifter
They are so fun
I would like for kawasaki to give it a 6th gear though it has enough torque for it
You can get a 16 tooth on the gen 2. I did ur by accident, so I’m switching back to stock next time.
Now I might fit 😮
That's what she said.
So I shouldn’t be using front brakes when slow speed maneuvering ?
i want one so bad
Awesome fantastic superb
It might be a good Supermoto conversion
Doesn’t the shortened height in the rear mess with the geometry off-road?
They reduced the front travel by 1 inch or so as well to keep it geometrically sound.

Go talk to ducati with their 36 inch seat height Desert X.
Average height in US is 5’9, globally is 5’7.
Speak for yourself!! You have plenty of options in the ADV space. Us short guys don’t. (Side note; 6+ feet is NOT average).
