I have not but I did add an encoder to the other carriage that came on the Cutie frame and it works the same. There is a place to install the encoder for the SureStitch Elite. We have two of these carriages that are "open box" that we can do a discount on.
@@kathy-quilts-university Thanks for getting back to me. I just got a new Chariot top carriage and have been trying to set it up. The new chariot is plastic and the holes for attaching items to it are not very user friendly.
@@lynnquast9205 You are totally correct. There are some trade-offs with the Chariot Carriage but it is still worth having the better positioning of the handles. Personally I like my hack of using the upper carriage of the G-Series Carriage as it is all steel and works a ton better. The downside to that option is that you might have to grind off part of the carriage if your machine has a throat length over 9 inches.
