@@amandagrant4331 That's not true. However, the newer coal plants in China are used to cover times of high industrial demand. They are peaking plants rather than baseload plants. They were put in because drought cut down hydro supplies. China doesn't want coal any more than we do. @gordon's claim that they were built to keep up with EV demand doesn't sound like the case. I wouldn’t be surprised if Musk and Tesla retrench back to basics with only the robotaxi going forward with total focus on FSD, the other models being abandoned has they reach end of life.

I get the fact that they have to place an additional module inside the car for it, and that that represents additional costs. How far is BYD (using Nvidia Drive Thor) with self driving compared to Tesla"s FSD . And what other software system is in developmen to allow self driving cars in the future ? The future is robot-taxis in a Transport as a Service business model, in a few years people will not buy their own car. Might be an interesting subject for a future video ?
I've made a TaaS business model evaluation: Tesla could give their model Y away for free if it operates as a robot-taxi. The margin on a very expensive robot-taxi ($75000) with a long life expectancy (16 years, 1 million miles CATL battery) could reach 11,500 (15%) margin on the sales, BUT an additional $6660 margin every year (Saas). Which would mean during the whole 10 years life cycle one robot-taxi could yield $77450 gross margin to Tesla !
Tesla produces already 1.25 million model Y per year (which could be upgraded to a robot-taxi) this would mean an additional $77.45 Billion margin for Tesla or an additional $700 to the stock price on year 10. No wonder Tesla is postponing model 2 (low cost, a lot of competition, low 6% margin, not suitable for a robot-taxi).

That means there are 50 percent more carbon dioxide molecules in the air than there were in 1750. Global fossil fuel emissions are still at record-high values (with a brief dip during the pandemic). And they stayed high in 2023, according to a projection by the Global Carbon Budget. 2023 was unusually hot, both on land and in the ocean.
